Most Gaming laptops nowadays use something called an Audio Combo Jack, where the Audio/Mic both goes to the same output but most desktop gaming rigs still use use Audio In / Audio Out
a few things, is the sound card defective? because hyperx sells them (out of stock right now). They’re are many 3.5 splitters NANYI 3.5mm 4 Pin Female to 2x3.5mm 3 Pin Male Headphone Converter Head Audio Splitter Y Adapter Cable, 0.3M 1FT (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G36WQ1J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_IvhTFbEVB1B5Y?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 for example .
While I’m not 100% familiar with that model, I did look it up and it only has a single jack. So while that would work for Xbox/ps4/switch it doesn’t do much for your pc as it has two different ports for input and output. You would need an audio splitter, basically something that changes it to 1 plug into two plugs. I’m bad at explaining so here’s a link to an audio splitter. audio splitter
4 pole splitter is cheapest and easiest option. Something like this
If your headset has a mic and a 3,5mm audio jack, the jack should have 3 lines on the plug. Some computers have a shared output/input for audio and mic, some don't. If you have a computer with separate audio and mic ports, and only a single jack from your headset, you would need a 3,5mm audio splitter: https://www.amazon.com/NANYI-2x3-5mm-Headphone-Converter-Splitter/dp/B07G36WQ1J/ref=sr\_1\_11?keywords=3.5mm+splitter&qid=1646822629&sr=8-11
high pitched noise is either
1 bad earbuds being bad
2 PC audio card being bad
3 all of the above
as for getting a 4 pol jack working on a desktop you can use an adaptor like so amazon link ( long boi )
This might work.
Audio in should be pink.
To my knowledge most, if not all desktops (and most laptops although there are laptops out there with a 3 ring 3.5mm audio jack) support only separate audio in and audio out jacks, you might need something like [https://www.amazon.com/NANYI-2x3-5mm-Headphone-Converter-Splitter/dp/B07G36WQ1J/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=3+ring+splitter&qid=1602628579&sr=8-4](this) to help stop the buzzing. (The link is not an endorsement, it is just to give you an idea of what to look for)
Is it an usb or jack headset
If it is a jack headset you need something like this
If it is an usb headset you can just plug it in one of the USB ports of your pc if that doesn’t work please let me know what headset you’re using
But I am pretty sure you can’t use you’re headset with your Xbox controller connected to your pc
You need a audio splitter to make it work properly you can find them on Amazon for fairly cheap something like this AUDIO JACK SPLITTER
PCs (in most cases) require separate mic connection and separate headphone connection so if you have a single plug headset you need a splitter. Something like this
Gonna make some assumptions:
If so, this is called a 4-pin 3.5mm jack. Some laptops have this port on them, which acts as a combo headphone/microphone port. Most desktops don't combine this port, though- you'll need an adapter to split the microphone and speaker aspects of that cable. Here is an example of what I mean. You'll plug one end into the green plug in the back of the PC and one into the pinkish port next to it.
You probably need one of these: https://www.amazon.com/NANYI-2x3-5mm-Headphone-Converter-Splitter/dp/B07G36WQ1J
It would might cause feedback, but you could try a y splitter and a y combiner, something like this to split your headset, and something like this to combine the headset microphone with the phone out for the recorder in. They even have 3 way splitters you could use on the phone so you wouldn't have to listen through the recorder out, you would only have the headphones plugged into the recorder in, which might be less likely to create feedback. Just search under aux audio splitters or adapters and there are a ton of options, I just pulled the first 2 I saw. Good luck.
Yeah, so that plug is only for audio coming OUT. It is not capable of doing audio OUT and audio IN. The INPUT for your mic would have to go into the RED port. So you either need an audio card which has 1 plug that is dual purpose, or a cable that your headset plugs into, which would separate the audio and the microphone so you could plug into both ports. Make sense?
That might be the problem. Try something like this
