The best thing for me is shoe inserts and a premium foot massager. That thing gets blood flowing around your feet. It won't help with immediate pain, but it will over time, and it also feels great. The LOW option is useless. You want to use HIGH and make sure you insert your foot correctly or your outer small toe will hurt. I bought mine awhile ago and it kinda looks like this one .
Sadly I don't have a great recommendation for insoles. When I got to the point that I needed something better than the $10 Walmart ones I ended up switching to shoes that had better built in support.
As for foot massager, I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WYX1D4H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It's been going strong for three years though I haven't been able to use it recently as I lost the power cord. The heat feature on it is a joke but it gives a great massage and really brings my feet back to life after 8 hours of standing.
My husband also has neuropathy in both his feet and he uses a foot massager like this one that offers some daily relief. If your Dad is open to the idea, maybe explore CBD too.
Wanted to add on to everyone’s suggestions: get a foot massager. These things can go for half price if you keep an eye out (especially with black friday/cyber monday in a couple months). Also, if you can find a slant board, stretching your feet out on those make a huge difference in foot pain. Use them as often as you are able to. I’m aware this one is expensive (but necessary because cheaper ones crack/break easily and can be dangerous) so keep an eye out for deals also.
I’m guessing all the walking gets tiring; what about a foot massager? Amazon has a variety of options depending on your budget.
