You just said it. Healthy people do not get sick. I spent my whole life getting sick up until around the time I started visiting this board (which once focused a lot on food truths, pesticide resistant GMOS, Monsanto / IG Farben history etc)
I read this book "Never be sick again". Covers everything from types of foods, to food combinations to avoid as well as gut health, our next line of immune defense. And I really followed it. I no longer get sick, healthier now at 32 than I was at 22. Healthy people do not get sick.
It can be hell living with EDS and/or related symptoms and chronic stuff in general. But I am glad to hear that you have 2 friends! I hope they are understanding of your situation and can take a bit of loneliness away.
Have you got other support besides your 2 friends? Do your parents support you? Do you have a therapist person to vent to and who helps you do deal with your (emotional) pain too?
No one, let alone a kid, should deal with this stuff all by themselves.
Humans can take all the pain in the world if they have someone who is there for them, to listen and understand.
Also, don't say that you will be that ill all your life. Yes, you may have symptoms all your life, but even in the most severe illnesses, over the years one can find relief and live a better life with less pain.
If you can and feel like it, I would recommend reading about people who were really sick and managed to get better and get symptom relief. I found this to be way more beneficial than to solely rely and doctors to help me.
There are ways to find partial relief. Some of them described in this book, for example: https://www.amazon.com/Never-Be-Sick-Again-Health/dp/1558749543/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=raymond+francis&qid=1632743021&sr=8-1
It will not miraculously make all your problems go away, but it will give your body a better starting position to tackle this and deal with it the best way.
Things can improve. So much that you can learn to enjoy your life again. In spite of your symptoms. One doesn't need to be without symptoms and pain to be able to live a good life.
But you will need all the help you can get, getting there. Physiotherapists, psychotherapists, doctors, and friends and familiy (if they are supportive).
Don't try to take this on on your own. No one should be alone in this.
Also this community online is here for you if you need to vent or have questions.
im gonna go on a limb here and not give you financial advice but healthcare advice. ultimately this little information could save you alot more money than you think. your auto immune disease is most likely a culprit of three things. your diet, you exercising and your mental well being. i highly recommend that you pick up this book asap. http://www.amazon.com/Never-Be-Sick-Again-Health/dp/1558749543/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348717394&sr=8-1&keywords=never+get+sick+again or this one http://www.amazon.com/Eat-Live-Amazing-Nutrient-Rich-Sustained/dp/0316206644/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1348717616&sr=1-1&keywords=eat+to+live follow the guide. read it many times and stick with the diets he recommends. while i can not say for myself that this booked helped me i know for a fact it has helped a coworker of mine who went through and auto immune disease just like you.
just to clarify im not trying to sell these and im in no way associated with any of these authors.
I used to always get sick, miss work, miss school, assignments. But now, I never get sick, I mean never, maybe 24 hour symptoms tops. I travel very frequently, always outdoors or in public as I frequent shows and what not. I never get a flu shot and never get the flu. Its a waste and will never target every strain. Read the book Never Be Sick Again. You are smart, you are in college, now study how to be a strong human with a super human immune system. Healthy lifestyles do not end with avoiding germs. You can't avoid germs. Its about building your immune system to the point it can fight off germs with ease. https://www.amazon.com/Never-Be-Sick-Again-Health/dp/1558749543
EDIT: Downvotes? For health knowledge? Zero responses? College doesn't work for everyone I guess.
