Eat liver/liverwurst- best possible form of A
100mg of magnesium isn't much. And I'm not sure glycinate is the best form (it laxates me). I would try taurate, malate and threonate, and, if you can, try to hit at least 300mg. But monitor the laxation closely.
GABA might not cross the brain blood barrier. I think it's better to get GABA from magnesium, theanine and your gut microbiome. Quite a few of the strains in this:
https://www.amazon.com/NewRhythm-Probiotics-Technology-Resistant-Refrigeration/dp/B071DZQLPQ/
appear to be gaba agonists.
Berberine can be helpful to control cravings. It's pretty big in Chinese traditional medicine and goes back a very long time. This being said... I might get tested to confirm your liver is okay.
400mg of fish oil is nothing, and, unless I'm missing something, I'm not sure about the benefit of omega 6 supplementation. With your issues, I might go 4g of fish oil a day (and eat a lot of sardines).
NAC can thin the mucosal layer. It can also, for some, be stimulating/mess with sleep. It's great short term, but I'd cycle it. There's a chance that tyrosine might impact sleep adversely as well, so, I'd monitor that.
B100 isn't a very balanced B. I lean a bit more towards B200- which, rather than 200mg of everything, is 200% of everything.
How about zinc? Potassium? I might also look at selenium and chromium (in small amounts). Maybe iodine (kelp).
Chlorophyll is supposed to be a good detoxer. Maybe parsley smoothies or spirulina/chlorella?
I take pills! Specifically these ones. They have been working for me and are more affordable. I used to take gummies but those were not high enough CFU for me. I used to get crazy bloated, throw up after meals, and generally feel sick to my stomach a lot (it seemed every food triggered it). I also used to be really prone to yeast infections. No more of this unless I make a combo of particularly bad eating/drinking decisions in a night lol. It dramatically improved my life.
I will try it. Thanks for the tip. I've felt pretty good using this one from Amazon NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion CFU 20 Strains, 60 Veggie Capsules, Targeted Release Technology, Stomach Acid Resistant, No Need for Refrigeration, Non-GMO, Gluten Free https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071DZQLPQ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_P65T940C8TP6E8WRZD2P
Hey. Here is the link.
I am from Singapore though. You probably can find it at your country’s Amazon link.

After trying so many different medication, chemo drugs, steroids, diets. Keeping track of what I eat. I found out, it’s stress. And here’s the thing that happened to me. I can be having good skin, and it breaks out because of stress. When I am no longer stressed out, my eczema will still stay. Initially I thought it’s diet. Something must be causing the eczema, something entering in my body. The environment? Food? Mental stress of sorts? Anyway, o tried all kinds of stuffs and found out, a good probiotic supplement got rid 90% of my eczema and well xontrolled ever since. I only take the probiotic supplement once or twice a year.
Here’s the link. Sorry the link is Amazon Singapore. You have to find the probiotic for your country.
Dang, welcome aboard fam. It’s 5am here in CT so I’m gonna keep this brief since my noodle is only just now beginning to come online, but this isn’t the end of the line for you...or me. I’m a 36/m. Diagnosed at 27. Had 27 years of being a medical muggle. Now you, like me, are in the shit. I consider myself s living science experiment since I use any and EVERY inch offered to me these days.
There’s what works and what doesn’t work. What may work for me or the next person may not work for you, so take what works and leave the rest.
Be gentle with you.
Look into probiotics to help shore up the gut biome. This is how I came into UC. My biome was stripped from antibiotics which opened me to C diff, burning a hole in my colon.
Www.visbiome.com Or NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071DZQLPQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Would be my recommendations. Enteric capsules allow the little critters to get past the stomach acids alive and in tact.
Also, I recently found whey protein ISOLATE. It’s the cleanest form of protein with the greatest amount of amino acids and such. We got a wasting disease. We have to fight.
You’re gonna build resolve. Whether we like it or not, these are our cards. Learn everything you can and up your game. Learn to swim.
I wish I found this sub years ago. You’re lightyears ahead of me in certain respects already.
You’re gonna be alright.
Cut out sugar, alcohol, and NSAIDS (definitely this one) as best you can. Feed the healing, not the disease and up your water and electrolyte (neuromag, potassium citrate, pink salt) game!!
Just ideas, no medical advice. But they are in my arsenal and on regular rotation.
Lastly, look in to black seed oil. I take a tbsp in the morning on an empty stomach to help keep the gi tract clean.
God speed fam 🖖🏽💩
They decimated my gut biome. There are good belly bugs that offset the bad bugs. The good weren’t there so the c diff ran amok in my gut, burning the ulcer in my large intestine creating the ulcerative colitis turned crohns.
A lot of people take probiotics to treat diarrhea. And yes, my guess is your biome had been wrecked from all the antibiotics. Our gut is our first line of defense from outside invaders and if we don’t have good bugs fighting the good fight, we have systemic malfunctions. As best as I can tell.
Www.visbiome.com has a probiotic tailored to those up shits creek. The trick is to get them past the stomach acids alive to the lower intestines. I get the sachets and use enteric capsules as the delivery device to bypass the acids. Time consuming and I don’t do it religiously, but I’ll link another probiotic below that is checks all the boxes and is super reasonably priced.
Research gut biome, immune system health and all that jazz. There is A LOT to be said about it.
Feel free to ask me anything. I really could go on forever about this. I am my own scientist and my own guinea pig and after 9 years I am just now starting to really stabilize, found a diet that works (carnivore) and am back to preUC weight!! 💪🏽💩👍🏽

Yeah I’ve been using these for the past year or so and have been happy with the results. I take two capsules with a meal and I’m good to go.
I take these pretty basic ones from amazon :)

Invest in some good probiotics. You need to replenish your gut flora after taking antibiotics. I like these.
This one is good. My doctor approves as well. Hasn't steered me wrong.

Regarding your comment on the efficacy of probiotics, why are companies allowed to serve us specific species of probiotics, like the ones listed here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071DZQLPQ/
If these are bad bacteria, wouldn't it be illegal to sell these? I know that most of the cells in our body are bacteria, so it seems to make sense to displace the bad bacteria with the good ones.
I use a daily probiotic to help my gut and reduce acne (I break out like crazy from too many foods - onions, chocolate, etc.). Tried a few, but stuck with the NewRhythm brand.
This is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071DZQLPQ/r
Not very expensive, and it does a good job.

I vary it from bottle to bottle. Current one is NewRythm with 50 bil (https://www.amazon.com/NewRhythm-Probiotics-Technology-Resistant-Refrigeration/dp/B071DZQLPQ/ref=sr_1_5?crid=FC0GRJ6UQH6Z&dchild=1&keywords=newrythm+probiotic+50+billion&qid=1626530903&sprefix=newrythm+%2Caps%2C230&sr=8-5)
I try to pick ones with 20+.
Did not have any changes/issues with urine.
The vitamins were due to my being anemic - low red & white blood cell counts - due to malabsorption - and low B-12. Am getting weekly B12 injections as well.
This plus the iron from the prenatal vitamins happened to me for a few days but I was able to overcome it through the following:
- Miralax
- Probiotics (https://www.amazon.com/NewRhythm-Probiotics-Technology-Resistant-Refrigeration/dp/B071DZQLPQ/ref=sr_1_6?_encoding=UTF8&c=ts&dchild=1&keywords=Probiotic+Nutritional+Supplements&qid=1620250740&s=hpc&sr=1-6&ts_id=3774071)
- 10+ prunes a day
- 2-3 tablespoons of flax seed per day
- 3 servings of fruit plus veggie smoothies daily (able to actually eat this stuff BECAUSE of the Zofran...yay!)
- 4 slices of whole grain bread a day - before I was having 3 bagels + ramen a day which did NOT help
- As much water and gatorade as you can keep down
- Yoga for constipation - basically putting my butt in the air a lot and downward dogs
- You can switch to a prenatal without iron if you haven't already but check with your doctor esp if are or have risk of anemia
I didn't try to strain when I couldn't go because it's just too painful and not sure it would be good for me.
Probiotics saved my skin! Looked very similar to yours. I’d it everywhere except my back essentially. You should try them. NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071DZQLPQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It is NewRhythm brand. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071DZQLPQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_aXsFFbQYZ8AR0
You can make your own dairy free yogurt for pretty cheap! I buy probiotic capsules on Amazon ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071DZQLPQ/ref=cm_sw_r_fm_apa_i_TQ0pEb3HSVT13 ) add 2 capsules to one can of coconut milk, let sit on the counter for a couple of days then refrigerate until you're ready to eat!

Not that these can cure it, but they may help symptoms till you can get a game plan or find a good doctor to help. Hopefully adding good bacteria with probiotics can take up more real estate then the bad guys and feeding the good bacteria with a prebiotic soluble fiber like psyllium husk can help them thrive. Cutting out the sugar should hinder the bad bacteria food source. Just something to try for cheap till you can figure some fix out.
My doc didn't make a specific recommendation, but I'm using one that's got several strains in it as opposed to a single strain one (i.e. one that is exclusively L. acidophilus). I ordered this one: Check this out: NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion CFU 20 Strains, 60 Veggie Caps... because it contains a good variety including several types of Bifidobacteria, which KellyMom says is useful for preventing thrush.
