I'm using the Verus case and it's been fine. Has a stronger ring for the corners and includes a low-profile bump to prevent the camera lens from contacting a flat surface. The texture of the case itself is sleek and does not contain rubber or grip, so it's easy to slide in/out of pockets, however it can be a little slippery to hold if you aren't careful.

Kind of weird situation. Have a Nexus 5x as the source and a Magni 2 amp. My standard 3.5mm to RCA cables are a bit too big for my Nexus 5x's Verus case to the point it broke the bottom of it. Same thing for a normal AUX cable in my car. Is there a fairly short 3.5mm female to 3.5mm male cable out there that would fit this particular use case? I really like how this case is for protection and looks so getting a different case really isn't ideal for me. I don't yet have the ability to have music play via USB right now as well so 3.5mm is really my only choice.

That's why I don't want to add any bulk to the phone. I'm not looking for added protection at all and if I have to get a case (which I don't, I ordered a dbrand skin) I want one as thin as possible and for color only, not for protection.

I actually have this case and felt like it made the phone seem huge, so I'm not using it. I think the 5x might be right on the edge of what I find a comfortable size, so any additional bulk drives me nuts.

There is a lighter banded one called satin silver. I went red to make it easier to find. I really like the case. Doesn't add much bulk. Buttons work very well. Makes camera seem more flush while adding a tiny lip around the lens for some lens protection. I use a temper glass screen protector, this one:

I am very happy with this combo. Definately get tempered glass with a oleophobic coating for finger prints. I haven't dropped it yet so I think the grip is better than my first impression.

I have just purchased the Verus High Pro Shield because none of the others seemed good.

Google prices seem very high on the cases. Even with 50% off! I ordered two of these one for the 5X and one for my 6P. The price and quality are outstanding!
