I just wanted to share what's been helping my pregnancy carpal tunnel in case anyone is suffering from it like I am. I went from my hands randomly falling asleep to waking up all night long in pain with my hands completely asleep, and not getting blood flow back to them for at least 10 minutes at a time.
I bought 2 of these splints along with Biofreeze which I put on right before bed. So far they've been great and I've only woken up a couple of times when my arm was in a really weird position. Ice also works when they start throbbing during the day. Pregnancy is fun! 😆
I bought this one off Amazon which is a softer brace and seemed to have really good reviews, but unfortunately seemed to do nothing for me :( maybe it will just take a couple nights of wearing to notice though.
Thank you for this!!
I bought this one yesterday without really knowing much about braces
Night Wrist Sleep Support Brace - Fits Both Hands - Cushioned to Help With Carpal Tunnel and Relieve and Treat Wrist Pain ,Adjustable, Fitted-ComfyBrace https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074MKSSHK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_P12PR7GW91209RVWNQ6M
Make sure it's plastic and polyester. Neoprene is ok, too.
Might work for you.
Yes! I haven't tried them but the nurses at the clinic I go to suggested wearing sleeping wrist braces. It's called comfy brace and that's the only thing I can think of that might help.
I sleep with a wrist brace on my right hand EVERY NIGHT. Pregnancy or no pregnancy. And it saved my life. I’m horrible at linking, but buy this one, it’s smaller but amazing. I’m on my second one now.
It was much worse at night what helped me alot was getting a wrist guard for carpal tunnel while sleeping. A word of caution it pretty much makes your hand immobile so it's a pain in the butt when you need both hands. It honestly is the only thing that helped me.at night https://www.amazon.com/Night-Wrist-Sleep-Support-Brace/dp/B074MKSSHK
Yess this was happening to me a few months ago. I started wearing this brace when I’m sleeping only and it’s helped tremendously. It’s not too rigid or tight which helps because otherwise I wake up with my wrist/fingers being too stiff. It’s pretty comfortable and after 3 nights of wearing it, my thumb/index finger feel a lot better during the day. In addition to using my thumb all the time, I tend to sleep on my side and put my hand in an odd position and this has helped cushion it.
it's super normal, I've played for 8 years and always struggle with that, it just that your hand is tensed, try relaxing. You can also get one of these so you can use it when it aches. Splint link
This is the brand I bought and wear on both hands each night. Tried to reduce straining activities, still typing a lot each day, but 30 days in and my symptoms are way better. Sorry I don’t have better advice specific to your situation. Hope things improve for you!

Oh I do too! here’s the one I have. It’s a lot less than $40!
Could you just hold the bag in your other hand? You can also buy braces that could help with support at just about any pharmacy, walmart, target, etc. I’m not sure how much it would help with a SH injury, but that’s probably your best bet. If you can only use bandages, wrap it tight (but not so tight that it impairs blood flow!) and splint with some popsicle sticks if you have any- here is a loose tutorial.
>wear wrist band at all time will help better recovery.
Especially at night...
There are 'night wrists' which I guess are good for really severe injuries, but I found them incredibly uncomfortable, they have like a ball that fits in the palm to really hinder movement, it's uncomfortalbe to fall asleep like that, I can't even explain it, like it makes falling asleep 300% harder. Maybe experience varies but...I hate 'em
There are the normal ones that are quite rigid, and the minimalist ones that are the most comfortable if the injury isn't that bad.
It's great that you're addressing this already, because it doesn't get better with age! Here are some of my suggestions:
Otherwise, make sure you're also taking care of your back, your shoulders, and your eyes. An ergonomic setup; frequent stretch breaks (set a timer for every hour); blue-light filters on your glasses and/or devices; posture exercises (get you a foam roller and lay on it longways; it's life-changing); blink breaks.
Have you tried sleeping with a splint? I started getting carpal tunnel around 24 weeks and I would literally be crying from the pain.
I used a heating pad and that helped ease some of the pain. Hand/arm massages helped as well. The splint was the game changer for me though.
Get one or two of these and wear to sleep, it’s a big help https://www.amazon.com/Night-Wrist-Sleep-Support-Brace/dp/B074MKSSHK Also look up wrist stretching routines
Relax your hand as others have said, as well get a wrist brace. Since you don't have serious issues atm I doubt strength training would be necessary, but possibly you could do some stretches, here is a playlist created by 1HP that helped me.
I can't recommend at least a wrist brace enough, the one I linked is on sale atm and it's great for that price, all you've got to do is put it on before you sleep. I play 100+ hours a week using 27.7-30cm and a relatively heavy mouse (g102 @ 85g) and essentially just with the help of a brace (and playing with a relaxed hand typically) I have basically no pain in my wrist, just a bit in my hand.
Have you tried using wrist splints they have a metal piece that holds the palm and wrist in place which for me, has made all the difference. The ones I have had are 15 years old from CVS -these look similar https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074MKSSHK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_t1_HhTRFbEK8GA2F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 They also keep me conscious and off the nerve when biking and literally that maddening pain at night vanishes because they ( I believe) keep nighttime swelling off the nerve Also I have a variations of this I use for planks Perfect Fitness Perfect Pushup Rotating Push Up Handles, Pair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008DNA9WU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8kTRFbV16MNG5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
