I personally use this one for blending smoothies and it does a very good job of pureeing everything. Also, it's a very good price for the quality.
I have one of these (the 450 watt version) and kind of rely on it a lot, all the time. For nut butters I throw nuts into the smaller of the containers and blend them up. Sometimes it needs a little water, depending on the nut.
I have the Ninja Master Prep and it's AWESOME. Super simple operation and easy cleanup. Also, as a commenter said below, look in the frozen foods section for all different varieties of pre-sliced frozen veggies. You can get bags with one type of vegetable, or multi packs like stir fry blend. The frozen bags are usually pretty cheap and reheating is pretty easy.
$90 for a Ninja Blender? I don't think that's a thing in Canada.
Cheapest Ninja Blender I can find under $100 is this one., and it doesn't look like the kind I'm looking for.
Thats the uphill battle i am facing right now. I think a blendtec and vitamix are a bit pricey right now.
Is this the one you have?
Thanks for the suggestion!
Here is the one I have. It does the job, but my leafy greens (looking at you kale) is still so big I have to chew it most of the time. I realize a Vitamix is going to do a wonderful job (thanks to Joe Rogan talking about it so much), but I'm not wealthy enough to blow $400+ on something just because I don't like to chew up my kale. If it's under $200 I feel like I could justify it on a day I want to splurge on myself, and I'd probably still feel a little guilty.
Or just search amazon for "ninja blender"
There are 2 models $40 and $60. They are the same, one with slightly more powerful motor and one additional cup.
If you want carrots, kale, etc. blended to drinkability you can do it with a Ninja. The older model does just as good as job as the new one (I've had both) and its cheaper. You can buy at Bed Bath and Beyond or check out amazon
I bought this one a few months ago and it hasn't failed me yet:

Do you have a blender already? Or are you opposed to buying a food processor/blender type of thing? Because my personal love of a food processor is actually this set from Ninja. If you want something a bit more, this is the next step up. And if you just want the food processor part try this.
