To everyone looking to Amazon for pre-orders/early release, what's being sold might not be the actual console. Check the Edition and Description before buying it.
$300 NES Classic Controller, it comes up as the default product when looking to buy the console because the console is not available yet. Don't be fooled, wait until 2pm PST when the console becomes available.
So I spent quite a while on this for myself last year, and after a bit of searching, my conclusion was that the best experience will be to buy these three things together:
8BitDo's DIY line are fantastic, and as best I can tell are the only way to get an original form factor wireless controller for the NES.
Nintendo also sell modern wireless NES controllers, but they have extra buttons and rails for connecting to the Switch, which I think ruins the look.
8BitDo also sell the n30, but those aren't styled like the NES controller and have extra buttons.
This is the right link for the controller on Amazon, right?

Here you go. It looked identical to the original NES controller listing.
Can you link to the product page for the controller you go? Is it this one? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JT77EDK/
