Is it just me or is it tricky as hell to get the switch out of the case? I am using this case.. [link]. It has 2 vertical elastic straps that run over where the joy con controls attach to keep it secure. I think many cases are like this. But because of this, I have trouble removing the switch from the case. There's not enough space to slide my fingers around the switch to pull it out and it's difficult to move the straps out of the way. I have to use both hands to move one strap out of the way enough and then flip the case upside down so I can let one end of the switch fall out onto a soft surface like a bed or couch. Then it's easy to get the other side out. Is there an easier way to get the switch out that you guys use?
I know some people where curious about the Surge case for Switch. Thought I would make the video and share for people that are still interested in it.
Here is the Amazon link: [link]
I just searched amazon for Switch cases. There are several, and I picked the one that fit my criteria. (I wanted one that was inexpensive, at least semi-rigid, and didn't say Switch or indicate there is a Switch inside for security reasons). I ended up getting this one:
I have this one, and it's sufficient: Nintendo Switch Carry-All Case [link]
A lot of people in the sub like the official case by Nintendo. The Hori case and RDS cases also get good marks. I honestly haven't seen any complaints about cases, so they're all pretty decent. Take a look at a couple retailers stock because some are sold out. They range $13-$25 for a basic case.
I'm no good for UBS-C charger. I need to grab a to-go charger myself, and just haven't had the time to research yet.
I bought the exact same case and the same thing happened to me! I'm also going on a trip next week that I need it for! I just cancelled my order and ordered this one instead. I got overnight shipping so it should be here tomorrow. It's only 12.99 so its cheap enough that I'll just get a better one later if it sucks. It has great reviews though.
Off subject, I bought this case:

Anyway, could you guys could skin it to look like an old school nes controller or console? It's about the correct shade of grey for it.
That'd be awesome.
Nice, I got this one. Was really drawn to it's simplicity and how to the case shapes to the JoyCons.
Need minimalist carrying case recommendation. There are so many options on the sidebar, does anyone have any specific recommendations?
Looking for preferably:
Currently I am looking at:
I got this one and it works well. I don't bring my Switch with me on a daily basis, but I have traveled internationally with it and this case protected it well enough
Edit: I would also recommend getting a tempered glass screen protector, that way if you drop your Switch the protector will break, not your screen
I use this case:
It works pretty well, has storage for the switch, games, and you can put some cables in it. This version is sold by many brands, I've seen it as low as $6. I think I paid $8 around release.
I also have a dedicated backpack for my switch when I am traveling:
It is a camera backpack that is accessible from the side instead of the top. That means I can easy slide in the switch, dock, pro controller, joycon grip, etc into the divided slots. The rest of the space I use for cables, battery packs, and some things for my trip if any.
I definitely recommend a hard case. Here is what I've got. Nintendo Switch Carry-All Case [link]
I'm currently using the Carry-All case. I've had it since Day 1, and it works well. However, the creator of this Switch TakeCase posted a giveaway here about a week ago and I think it looks great, I will be buying that one soon. Another good one is the Deluxe Travel case, I know someone who has it. It just isn't optimal for me since I carry a Pixel charger and I don't think it would fit in that zipper pouch.
I use the official Nintendo hard case which I find great! I've also heard good things about the "Surge carry all case" I'll pop the link below
I have the Surge case and really like it so far.
Currently unavailable but you might be able to find it somewhere else
i got this case because it's pretty plain, seems fairly rigid on the outside, & the color matches my grey joycons :-)
I got this one and it's worked fine so far. And it was inexpensive.
Just realized it's out of stock now though.
I went with a simple one from Surge for now which works fine for me. It is sold out on Amazon currently though.

Got this delivered before launch. Perfect fit, rugged, but light weight. Zero complaints
I just got this one let's hope it's good, I despise screen protectors so I'm hoping it doesn't scratch my screen.
This one has high reviews and is in stock [link] but several reviews complain of a smell aswell. The butterfox case also has high reviews and is in stock as well.
If you need a case now I would reccomend the surge brand case because it has worked great for me so far. It's in stock, cheaper, and is just as good as the RDS and Butterfox cases in my opinion.
Everyone is going nuts for this case and it seems like, if space is not a consideration, it's pretty good. But personally, I think it looks a little bulky. The contents of the whole top flap seem wasted. Also, the carrying strap seems too bulky. What sorts of bags are people putting these in?
My perfect Switch case would have a perfectly molded bottom with JoyCon shoulder grooves, as this (nearly) does, but no false-floor dead space for storing game carts (since I am going all-digital). The top would be as slim as possible, with perfectly molded holes to hold the JoyCon joysticks in place in 0° position. The closest I have seen to this is the Japan-only Hori Slim Hard Case however, this does not have the perfect shoulder grooves which I desire. The case that I have bought is the Surge Carry-All case which meets my needs most of the way, but still seems to have a little extra bulk to it (and the shade of gray they have chosen looks a bit ugly).
I am hoping there's a low-goal Kickstarter or something for Switch cases which might address my needs.
I just bought this case
at walmart for 15$ Canadian. Decent construction, has elastics to hold it in place, has a bit of room at the top as well. Could fit a thin battery pack
Thanks for the suggestion! Though at 1.2" thick, I don't think that would be small enough to fit in the Surge case
I got it from Amazon, it was $12.99 I'm pretty happy with it but it too is sold out :(
This carrying case as it is pretty inconspicuous, has divots in the case for the joy cons, and a dedicated space for games. I also snagged this powerbank came recommended by Spawn Wave. It's fairly cheap and should be able to charge the Switch twice on a full charge.
I'm getting the Surge case. It was a popular choice in the Switch Case Recommendations post from a while back.
Edit: Here's that thread if anyone is curious.
I got this one Nintendo Switch Carry-All Case [link]
Console: Switch Console (Grey Edition)
Accessories: (1) 256 GB MicroSD; (2) Pro Controller; (3) Extra Dock; (4) Nintendo Switch Carry All Case ([link]); and (5) Screen Protector ([link])
Games: Zelda BoTW; Bomberman R
Not really sure about the case and the screen protector but I feel like they are necessary. Anyone else getting either, or both? Recommendations?
Hori is an alright brand, they make good controllers and high quality fightsticks. Their switch case looks okay, I went with this but you should be fine either way. If you are looking to buy a second case that holds the pro contoller or even the switch dock, waterfield is making three styles of switch case and preorders go up this Friday. They make the highest quality carrying cases I've ever used.
Neon Red joy cons so that I can have a red /grey setup.
128gb micro sd card
This switch carrying case that has a bump out for the triggers
Surge Carry All:
This case in my opinion has the best design and is hard so that it can protect the console itself.
