I tried all the stuff out there for dandruff and then finally came across this...only need a small amount per shampooing. I was using it almost daily and now I only use it once a week or so...Nizoral Anti-dandruff
I get that, this helps mine. Use it twice a week & let it sit for at least 5 minutes before rinsing. If I forget to use it for a few weeks it comes back so it’s more preventative than a cure. Safety razor will help too.
Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_JpPUFb1XEVPPY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Try Nizoral it saved me from constant itchiness and scalp dandruff i used at least twice a week until i was dandruff free i highly recommend it. You can get it at target or walmart Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_DYZ83B252Y64HS6QXRQN
Could be one of the ingredients you don't respond well to it since they do add a bunch of other components to the formula. Anyways, best I can say is try Ketoconazole 2% which is prescription strength and requires you to go to your doctor. If you have insurance though they might cover the cost of the prescription for you, so it might actually save you money from having to buy shampoos yourself. It also comes in a lower strength over-the-counter in 1% where you can find it on Amazon it seems. Brand name Nizoral, but uses the ingredient Ketoconazole same as the prescription just lower strength.
He should see a doctor, it sounds like seborrheic dermatitis to me. He can try nizoral shampoo with no other products following (like conditioner), let it sit on the scalp for a minute or two per use. Here’s a link to get it off amazon.
Nizoral.. helps me a lot with my seborrhoea dermatitis, and I had it bad.
I bought my nizoral on Amazon, and I use it twice a week. My condition, disappeared entirely.
Give it a try, it's also good for hair lost too
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_SB34QCTDYTMM2ED81YRS
I say first try Nizoral shampoo. Put a dab on a cotton ball and put a thin layer where it's needed and leave it on for like 15 minutes a day and it should be gone in a week or two. It does leave a sting if you leave it on for too long just so you know. I did it for about 2 weeks and the bumps haven't came back since.
Heres a link : Amazon.com : Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo : Beauty
If that doesn't work, try something with a chemical exfoliant in it. As long as your skins not super dry or sensitive. Probably a face wash, like Cerave Salicylic Acid Face Wash. Or you can opt for something like an acne-fighting cream thingy or a serum. It's very mild so you shouldn't have to.
Nope! You can find it at a local drug store like cvs or Walgreens in the shampoo dandruf section or on amazon
As for the bra - you can totally wear one but once you do the first treatment make sure you are wearing clean bras after that. Fungal stuff is hard to get rid of 100%. But just wash everything in some hot water until the skin is clear again. Once it’s clear you can be a little more relaxed and just use the nizoral as a body wash every other day or whatever.
https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-D-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Fl/dp/B00AINMFAC/
I've only used the Nizoral branded one. I think it is the most commonly suggested since it was one of the first. You can find it on Amazon and I think I've seen it at places such as Walmart as well. I alternative between my normal shampoo and this one.
The issue is likely a fungal growth on your scalp. I had the same issue and it took me a long to realize the problem. The shampoo in the link worked really well for me. It uses the same active ingredient as shampoo that a dermatologist will prescribe. Follow the directions on the bottle and if you see no improvement after about a month then you should see a dermatologist.
https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Ketoconazole-Dandruff/dp/B00AINMFAC
Hijacking top to plug this stuff.
I've had dandruff for 10+ years and Nizoral is the only shampoo to help. It actually worked nearly completely on the first try. My irritation and red skin in my beard also completely reversed.
https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Ketoconazole-Dandruff/dp/B00AINMFAC
I had the same issue for almost a decade and nothing worked until I tried using Nizoral. Specifically This shampoo. Its pretty expensive for a bottle of shampoo but it changed my life. Hope this helps.
So if your goal is to keep things 100% natural my suggestion can be dismissed.
However, I also have particularly bad areas of my scalp that quickly dry and flake no matter what. If you haven't already tried Nizoral shampoo it has been one of the few shampoos that have helped to contain flakes for me. It's certainly not a perfect product and you should do your own research to confirm it's worth trying.
Another supplementary option is exfoliating your scalp with a sugar scrub to help lift the flakes off your scalp before a full wash. With young locs this might not be an option without someone to help you, but it can certainly help clear dry skin cells out.
I wish you the best with your journey!
You should try Nizoral Anti Dandruff Shampoo it contains Ketoconazole 1% which is an anti fungal ingredient used to treat dandruff. If you find it works but you need something stronger your doctor or dermatologist can give you a prescription ketaconazole shampoo as well
You should approach your hair loss with medical treatments first using what is called the "Big 3": finasteride, minoxidil, nizoral with ketoconazole. Your aim should be to stabilize hairloss first. Perhaps even micro-needling. But on the medical treatment, start finasteride 1st and commit to it. It takes some time with me for the effects to kick in, 4-12 months. All the while you should be mindful of any further or decreased hairloss once on treatment. Check your shower drain trap, the shampoo lather in your hair, your brush/comb. Be very mindful of side effects and stop if there are serious complications. You may experience brain fog or your balls tingling. Stick with it as these may subside after a few weeks. Once you see benefits, then add in minoxidil. You don't want to start both at the same time since if you experience side effects or benefits, you won't know which one is causing them and which one you should stop. The Nizoral shampoo you can start right away.
During the time you are applying the treatments, do heavy research about surgical methods. I was able to get my finasteride prescription through Kaiser just be asking for it via the web portal. It is not that hard. You definitely look like a good candidate for treatment. Good luck man!
Definitely looks like it. Also NAD, but I had tinea versicolor as well for a very long time before actually seeing a doctor. The derm I saw recommended this antifungal shampoo. Cleared up in 3 washes. Definitely worth a shot IMHO before you shell out cash for a visit.
I have a lot of scalp pain. Apparently it can be partially attributed to a reaction to yeast on the scalp? I started using this during flare ups and it kinda helps along with using a more sensitive shampoo.
Thanks!
I just use the 1% you can get on Amazon twice a week.
Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, Basic, Fresh, 7 Fl Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_ABBXPW01427C5TR70PXG
That's the kind I use. One bottle last maybe 5 or 6 months.
My dermatologist who I have to see yearly to renew my fin prescription has mentioned that he is willing to write my a script for the stronger nizoral shampoo as well, so maybe one day I'll step it up a bit.
My fin is 1mg. I use goodrx since my insurance doesn't cover it. Depending on where you go it can be as cheap as like $10 a month. I spend about $25 though just since I use the closer pharmacy to me.
If it is seb derm, I can't recommend Nizoral Anti Dandruff Shampoo. It's the only thing that has helped mine stay away. I use it once every other week and it seems to help. They also make a shampoo and conditioner for psoriasis, but I haven't tried that one before. Best of luck to you!
Nizoral is an FDA approved over the counter anti-fungal shampoo. It works well and is genital on the skin. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AINMFAC/ It's not the cheapest stuff out there, but can save you from having to try 15 different things. :+)
Ketoconazole, (Nizoral) shampoo, is known to inhibit 5AR, the enzyme which converts testosterone to DHT. It won’t be the hard hitter against hair loss, that will be more so your finasteride along with the minoxidil. But will surely help at the scalp level and definitely something you should start with when first seeing hair loss along with a good conditioner.
-there’s the link it’s marketed as an anti dandruff but the ingredient Ketoconazole helps fight against DHT conversion at the scalp level.
if you are having fungal issues with your scalp / hair it's probably worth trying nizoral shampoo. it's an anti-fungal shampoo, so if your symptoms improve you probably have a fungal infection
https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Ketoconazole-Dandruff/dp/B00AINMFAC
depends what kind you have. if you have seborrheic dermatitis this stuff is a game changer. it ended a 20yr battle for me after trying dozens of products
That’s dandruff. It’s dead skin from your scalp. Some are more prone to it than others. You’re going to have to use a dandruff shampoo. You’ll have to try different dandruff shampoos to find the right one for you, but my brother uses this one and it works really well for him :)
I've been having the same issue. I have not found a long term solution to this and will likely see a dermatologist. However this shampoo does cut down on the itchiness for about a day and then I have to use it again.
Hi! Not sure if you can get this where you are located but I had SEVERE SD and this is the only thing that worked. I got the mini bottle and used it twice and haven’t needed it since! It cleared up everything and I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to get it. It is harsh so I would use it as a last resort
https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Ketoconazole-Dandruff/dp/B00AINMFAC
It kind of looks like it. You should try Amazon.com : Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo : Beauty .
Put it on a cotton ball and rub a thin layer on your face, leave it on for a little every day than rinse it off.
Wash with nizoral twice a week and it will go away I wouldn’t wash my hair everyday with it tho as it is very very strong
Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_xI-RFbKF0W6KH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Update: I used this seborrheic dermatitis cream from amazon and overnight it’s already 70% better!! I’m so freaking happy. Also I started washing my face with bottled water but I feel like it’s really the cream that did something instantly.
Nizoral A-D Anti-Dandruff Shampoo 7 Fl. Oz Itchy Scalp Dandruff Treatment w/ Ketoconazole 1% https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_xnIcDbE7TE6EV
Hello there!
I’m a few months in & seeing great results. Here’s some general tips for you to keep in mind/try out as needed:
1.) If you notice any fin side effects (even subtle ones), purchase a pill cutter and try doing 0.5mg daily doses. 0.5mg doses provide about 90% the amount of DHT blocking as a 1mg dose (the dose effectiveness is nonlinear). I’ve noticed the side effects are pretty much nonexistent for me at the lower 0.5mg dose
2.) Get some Nizoral shampoo — you can find it on Amazon
3.) Don’t freak out if your hair starts looking worse and shedding worse than normal — this is a minoxidil shed and is completely normal. It will start to happen to you in a few weeks, assuming the minoxidil works.
You’ll go probably through a couple cycles of shedding over the first year, but it’s completely normal and a sign that you’ll get some regrowth
try this from amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AINMFAC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
if it is dandruff, most derms will prescribe 2% but i think this is the next best thing. you have to leave the shampoo on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it.
Hi! Just wanted to let you know that Automod has removed your comment because it contains an Amazon referral link, which we don't allow in the sub.

I've have a dandruff problem too. Use this stuff twice a week for a few weeks and then you just need to use it once a week thereafter. It really works! Read the reviews on Amazon: Nizoral Anti-dandruff Shampoo With Ketoconazole 1%
Buy distilled water and only use this to wash your face and hair. Makes such a difference for me.
I use this shampooon my hair and sometimes face/neck. If it's too much, white vinegar works. Put some on scalp and let it sit 5-10 minutes before you hop in shower. Rub it in.
I wash my face with distilled water and dead sea salt after the shower. This is the most inexpensive and successful regime for me. I'm 36 if that counts.
Good luck.
Barber was rude af. If anything a hair professional should help with a problem, not bash the customer
For me, this worked pretty well, you can stop worrying after 2nd or 3rd wash. It's expensive as hell, but really works and you don't need all that much
Ketoconazole is the keyword. If it's not on bottle, it's the wrong bottle. Walmart or deli grocery usually won't sell you the right bottle. A proper drugstore will.
Anything called "anti-dandruff" you can buy from grocery store is bullshit. Medical conditions need medicine, not a falsely promoted feature of perfumed water with some sodium laureate to make it thick
Hi there!
I just wanted to let you know that Automod has removed your submission because it contains an Amazon referral link, which we don't allow in the sub.
Could you please edit the Nizoral URL so that everything from (and including) "tag=" is removed? That way, the product page will still be visible - but no one can make a profit from the link.
Alternatively, copy this link:

I second Tea tree oil. Also get Nizoral (sometimes hard to find at the drugstore, but you don’t need a prescription for it) shampoo. Eventually you only need to use it once a week to control the dandruff. Then in between you can use your curly hair products!
By far the best I've used.
Nizoral A-D Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_kcyNAbJ6QZVW1
I shampoo once a week and condition/moisturize everyday. But obviously do what works best for you and your situation.
I don't use this shampoo all the time though. But you mentioned dandruff shampoos, and it's a good one to have in your arsenal.
https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-D-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Oz/dp/B00AINMFAC I use Kroger generic liquid minoxidil. We have a chain of grocery stores in Colorado called King Soopers that sells Kroger products of brand name stuff. If you have a Costco membership, I heard they sell very affordable minoxidil but I’m sure you can find generic minoxidil at one of your local grocery stores if you don’t. I haven’t tried Regenepure but was considering getting some when I was first looking for a solution to my hair loss. Thanks! I might look into getting a dermapen because the roller can be quite painful sometimes and it catches on my long hair; I’ve seen great results from people on this subreddit who’ve exclusively used it though.
If it's inflammation/or fungal based. 3 times a week to get it under control then once every 2 weeks after.
What compounds were you taking your first cycle? If you didn't go beyond test and an oral, your acne may have been estrogen related, in which case it could potentially be fixed by an increased AI dosage. If that isn't the problem, another user here recommended this shampoo that contains 1% ketoconazole, which they claimed made their skin more clear than any other time in their life. Personally, I'm currently on a Test/Tren cycle and have had almost no acne taking 12.5mg aromasin daily, as someone who previously got acne from test alone when my estrogen wasn't in control.
Nizoral works way better than T-Gel for my S.D.
I use it at least every other day, but that may be too much for a 4 year old.
Have you tried just using conditioner? I had that problem and now just use conditioner and rinse it off after leaving it in for 5 minutes and no more dandruff
Shampoo made my scalp itchy and dry
You could also try Nizoral shampoo - https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-D-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Oz/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1482979077&sr=1-1&keywords=nizoral
The best product for dandruff is Nizoral. It's expensive, but it truly works, and if you want proof, check out the reviews on Amazon:
Just buy off amazon.
It was originally targeted at dandruff users. Dandruff users skin flaked off their scalps due to what could have been a combination of multiple factors: dryness, irritation, inflammation, dirty environment, bad circulation, dht, etc.
Eventually they found out the stuff worked great for stopping hairloss, was cheap, unobtrusive to lifestyle, and pretty much most reasonable anti-hairloss method if you dont want to create a maintenance program that takes 20 minutes out of your life everyday that might not even work.
I loss a decent chunk of hair in college. Then after trying a bunch of different things, I started using this daily. Even 1-2 times a week helps significantly. Hairloss hasnt progressed much since then. Wish I would have started earlier. The minox/fin/other stuff is too expensive (or life threatening), takes too much maintenance (I dont want to be a fucking woman) and doesnt really produce a great result for everything you put into it (fin does, but I value my life more than my hair).
> Norizal
I have to test this. Thanks for long answer!
It contains Ketoconazole, which treats seborrheic dermatitis (scaly areas on your skin or scalp). I get it with a Rx, but it's also on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-AntiDandruff-Shampoo-7-Ounce-Bottles/dp/B00AINMFAC I let it sit on my scalp and then condition as normal and it's solved the problem 100%.
This worked SO well for my tinea versicolor:
www.amazon.com/Nizoral-AntiDandruff-Shampoo-7-Ounce-Bottles/dp/B00AINMFAC
My dr gave me a prescription for this lotion with the main ingredient from Selsen Blue but it took forever to see any results. This other stuff fades my spots immediately and they're completely gone by the next day.
Nizoral Shampoo is literally the best anti-dandruff shampoo I have ever used. I use just a little twice a week and I haven't had a flake in my hair for about a year. Nothing else ever worked on me but this, while expensive, is worth every penny in my opinion because what guy wants to have flakes in his hair when a girl runs her hands through it?
The one I'm finding on amazon says non prescription strength
Is it this one?
https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Ketoconazole-Dandruff/dp/B00AINMFAC/
The only one I've tried is Selsun Blue, but a lot of people really love the Nizoral. It's hard for me to say which one would be best for you. Here's the amazon links: https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-D-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Oz/dp/B00AINMFAC?th=1
https://www.amazon.com/Selsun-Blue-Medicated-Strength-Dandruff/dp/B001UGL84U?th=1
So I don't know if there's any truth to this, but I have this theory that hair adapts or gets used to the shampoo I use. I like switching up the active ingredients in the shampoo. Hopefully that will help you. There's a chance you might have dry scalp, doing an oil treatment with tea tree oil might help. I've used this cheap one at Walmart before You could try buying tea tree oil and diluting it in a carrier oil. Some people swear by diluting Apple Cider Vinegar, and putting it in a spray bottle and using it on the scalp.
If you go to a dermatologist you can get prescribed an anti-fungal shampoo (I believe the active ingredient is ketaconozole). That worked miracles for my scalp. It came in a plastic bottle, but sometimes you need to look after yourself too. You can also find it over the counter in a lower concentration like in this shampoo.
You could also try a bar shampoo that has the same active ingredient as Head and Shoulders (Pyrithione Zinc) such as this one that I randomly found on Amazon.
Remember that seborrheic dermatitis means that your skin becomes irritated by sebum (oil), so keeping your skin/scalp clean is super crucial.
anti fungal shampoo
here is my recommendation
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
had horrible dandruff all my life and tried many products. this was my godsend
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_VB4T9AHNRAK00ARDRJYX
Use that and stop once your itchiness and dry/flakey scalps subsides.
https://www.sezia.co/about this website is awesome I recommend checking your current products, for me one of the things that inflamed my fungal acne was shampoo so I switched Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SfzSFbGV470FD for my scalp and use normal shampoo for the rest of my hair. The shampoo is also great because the active ingredient and also kills fungal acne. I use it on my face and chest as well.
Is that stronger than the stuff I'm buying on amazon for $9.50?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AINMFAC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo/dp/B00AINMFAC?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIx-invbjc6wIVEpSzCh2U7AogEAAYASAAEgIanPD_BwE is what is recommended in the hair loss sub, along with rogaine and finasteride. If your loss isn't bad, you could start with the shampoo probably, and then the rogaine later if it doesn't help as much as you wanted.
Yeah, whatever you do, do not get it at CVS - it's almost $20 at CVS. It's much cheaper on Amazon, or if you need it today, you can go to Walmart and get it for about the price you'd get at Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Ketoconazole-Dandruff/dp/B00AINMFAC
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Nizoral-A-D-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-7-Oz/856878537
You can get it at brick and mortar places like Walmart as well. Nizarol on Amazon
Cured my chronic dandruff. People also use it as a balding treatment.
I just started using Nizoral and Mielle Rosemary Scalp Oil (seen lots of recommendations for this). My scalp seems to be much better after one use of each!
I can’t add another photo without creating another post!
Here is a link that shows the back label.

I was stumbling upon a cg method video and the person was sharing this shampoo: Nizoran anti-dandruff shampoo. The reviews seem really good
Hair with dandruff has to be washed every single day You can control dandruff but it will always be there
https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Ketoconazole-Dandruff/dp/B00AINMFAC
I feel like you should see a dermatologist. In my opinion, this looks fungal to me. Is it an area that is skin-on-skin? If so, this is a breeding ground for fungus. Here are some things you can try.
Use cotton bra or tank top to separate skin from skin always. Making sure the breasts aren’t smooshed together. In the shower use Nizorol Shampoo to put on your chest area. Leave it on for 3 mins, then move up to five, you can try 10.
Then after shower, use Lotramin body powder, or gold bond baby powder (with zinc) (this is apparently very hard to get hold of, so any body powder with zinc should be good.)
You could even use both.
Lastly, cut out sugar. If you’re an American (I am too) this is easier said than done. If you consume sweets every day you will have a feeding ground of yeast/ fungus throughout your body. American food has so much sugar in it already, having extra sweets is too much. Sorry but, it’s true. Make sweets a once a week thing. If you say to yourself, “I don’t eats sweets.” Take a look at something you eat pretty regularly and check the nutrition information and there is probably a good amount of sugar (i.e. carbs) in it, even if it’s savory.
As for the picking. There is a subreddit for that r/compulsiveskinpicking (?). Try to find fidget toys that can keep your fingers busy. Use negative re-enforcement to stop yourself. (Wear a rubber band on your wrist and “snap” yourself with it when you go to pick) Do this when you go to lift your shirt to pick.
Good Luck!
Yes! Nizoral. Walmart, target and Walgreens carry it as well.
do this for 2 weeks and your little bumps will be gone.

Nizoral This has helped me in the past.
Life changing product right here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
My scalp was super itchy and I had a lot of white oily dandruff bits.
Used this twice so far (4 days in between) and it's already solved pretty much everything for me!
I keep my SebDerm under control by washing my face daily with these three items:
Nizoral (https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Ketoconazole-Dandruff/dp/B00AINMFAC/)
Hibiclens (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EV1D79A)
Zinc Soap (https://www.amazon.com/DermaHarmony-Pyrithione-Zinc-ZnP-Soap/dp/B00MWB0ZGE/)
The Zinc soap is great at reducing daily SebDerm flare burning sensation (and cheap too), and Nizoral keeps the flakes away (I let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing). Hibiclens is an antibacterial (don't get it in your eyes though).
Don't give up! It's inconvenient to maintain, but, better than ignoring it. My skin looked like yours before I started this; now no one knows I have it.
I personally use Nizoral Shampoo, Ordinary retinol at night, neutrogena bar soap, regular ivory bar soap for my body and and Oil of Olay face sunscreen.
I occasionally wear makeup, but stick to MAC makeup (tested on animals, though, if you’re looking cruelty free), but only on special occasions, not daily. I have concealer, powder, mascara and eyeshadow. That’s it. Oh- chapstick for my lips almost daily.

Nizoral is a type of shampoo—the anti dandruff stuff is what you’re looking for:
Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_7WTBMNQYS6065DQH2FDF
I recommend this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AINMFAC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This not only stopped my hair loss, I actually started to get new growth after I started using it. I tried it after my hairdresser suggested it. My scalp has never been healthier. It's the only one I use now. As fancy shampoos go, it's actually pretty cheap. One bottle lasts me 6 months.
Try this, only thing that worked for me, even better than prescriptions: Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
If anti-dandruff shampoos aren’t working for you, you probably need something medicated. Get some 1% Ketoconazole shampoo off Amazon (I use this kind when my seborrheic dermatitis flares up) and a scalp scrubber off Amazon. Guarantee you it’ll clear up in a week.

Rip, that shit sucks.
It's not too late though depending on how severe it is.
If you aren't already, I recommend using Nizoral Shampoo (1% Ketoanzocole) 2x per week, 5% Minoxidil solution applied daily, and derma-rolling the bald spots on your temples/crown with a 1.5mm derma roller at least 7 passes in each direction (vertical, horizontal, diagonally) ONE day per week.
If you go over and look at /r/tressless, a lot of the guys over there have some idea of what they're doing, but they tend to not actually do the shit that works.
Dermarolling is the #1 thing that you can do for actual REGROWTH.
When using things like Finasteride, Minoxidil, and Nizoral Shampoo, you usually aren't REGROWING the hair, but you're just blocking the DHT in your hair, or in the case of Finasteride, blocking the 98% of the DHT in your entire body.
I do believe that this is the study:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3746236/
on dermarolling and minoxidil.
Minoxidil has virtually zero sides, and this is THE MOST EFFECTIVE method for REGROWTH without having to take a pill that can kill your dick and make your grow bitch tits.
This is MY ROUTINE that made me go from ~NW2 back down to a NW1.5 in the span of 4-5 months. I also have tons of baby hairs on my temples now, and basically all of my temples are filled in with tiny baby hairs. If I wear my hair more down in my face, I literally look like a NW0 teenager:
Every day, apply 1mL of generic minoxidil on amazon to the temples, crown, and throughout my hairline in the front.
Every week, ONCE per week, I roll my temples with my 1.5mm dermaroller that I bought off eBay for ~$15 including shipping. On the day that I roll my temples with the dermaroller, I DO NOT APPLY MINOXIDIL.
E.g. On Wednesday I dermaroll my temples; I apply Minoxidil every day of the week EXCEPT for Wednesday.
Twice per week, wash your hair with Nizoral Ketoanzocole Shampoo. When washing your hair, make sure to work your fingers into your scalp and get the shampoo in your hair as much as possible. Then, after lathering and working the shampoo into your scalp for AT LEAST a minute straight, let the shampoo sit in your hair for 2-3 minutes, then wash it out, and condition your hair with a natural and hair-friendly conditioner that you can probably also find on Amazon. Just pick the highest rated one with the most reviews.
ALSO, on days that you wash your hair with Nizoral Shampoo, make sure that you apply the minoxidil AFTER you wash your hair and scalp with the shampoo.
While both Nizoral and Minoxidil have local DHT blocking properties, putting the minoxidil on then scrubbing and washing your scalp with nizoral will wash the minoxidil off your scalp and not provide the bonus hair follice stimulation.
Here is just a basic example schedule for hair-care routine, this is what I follow every week:
Monday : Wash hair with Nizoral Shampoo, apply minoxidil after.
Tuesday : Apply minoxidil
Wednesday : Dermaroll temples and hairline, no minoxidil.
Thursday: Wash hair with Nizoral, apply minoxidil after.
Friday: Apply minoxidil.
Saturday: Apply minoxidil.
Sunday: Apply minoxidil.
Repeat.
I literally don't shed anymore. I used to be able to run my fingers through my hair and get 4-5 hairs every time, now I'm lucky if I get 1 or 2 even when running my hands and fingers through my hair basically trying to pull out hairs.
If you need any more information or advice on haircare or hair restoration in general, I'm sure I could point you in the right direction.
Edit: also hydration! Big lifestyle change was switching a lot of soda for water.
For me it's avoiding fragrance and irritants. Personally had success with Nizoral once a week and a balm daily, I don't like oils.

Sorry for the late reply everyone but these are the links. i try to shampoo every other day and alternate the shampoo everytime i shower. So day 1: nizoral day 3: free and clear with a pinch of dead sea salt day 5 : happy cappy shampoo. day 7:repeat
try not to be rough with your hair, massage your scalp slowly. leave the shampoo on for 2-3 mins so it soaks in a little bit and then wash it out. When you get out of the shower just dab the towel on your head instead of completely shaking the towel on your head.

Have you tried using Nizoral? That helps a lot of people clear up their fungal acne! It is technically an anti-dandruff shampoo, but you can use it as a mask in the affected area(s). You can buy it on Amazon!
The salicylic acid cleanser you use is good for regular acne, but it won’t have much of an effect for fungal acne. I’m thinking you probably do have fungal acne and that’s why your other acne cleared up but not the acne on your forehead.
Also, if you haven’t already I recommend checking out Simple Skincare Science! He has a ton of information about fungal acne and products that are “safe” to use.
Hey, you look great! can I just ask one thing please buddy:
The one thing I'm struggling to locate is the: (Kroger generic liquid Minoxidi) - I live in the Uk so checked Boots with no joy, I also checked Amazon but can only find this: https://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Minoxidil-Strength-Regrowth-Supply/dp/B002VLZHLI/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
The issue(s) - Bodybuilder looking to make my skin look more appealing(soft, rich color, less pimples/blemishes). Would also like to reduce red bumps/pimples that form in the private areas after shaving. (I use a buzzer for everywhere except the face and bikini areas.)
Skin type - I have oily skin in the T-zone area shortly after showers. I have large pores in my T-zone area and on my chest. I have some back acne. I can't seem to get rid of the black heads on my nose area. (very prone to pore clogging I guess). Everywhere else on my body by skin is not too dry and not too oily.
Current routine -
Morning: Shower every morning. Every 3 days shampoo with Nizoral(hair loss prevention) other days just let it rinse under the running water. Start with using Dial Exfoliating Bodywash on my face gently scrubbing using just my hands. Then use the same product for the rest of my body. Typical shower time is ~5 - 8 minutes. Post shower I pat my hair, face, and body dry with a towel. Then apply Rogaine to top of my scalp(extra hair loss prevention, runs in the family..)
Night: Maybe once a week shower before bed, apply Rogaine. Use Dial only in the high friction areas(armpits, crotch, buttocks).
How long you have been using your current routine, or product in question - Last 6 months or so. Before that I was using Irish Spring body bar soap for my body instead of the Dial.
Anything new you’ve introduced or started doing that might change the condition of your skin - My skin really hasn't changed for the last few years or so, I'm looking for drastic general improvement.
Your location so we can recommend products/services available to you
Thanks to the answers to one of my other Q's in this thread I've decided to get a shampoo with 1% Ketoconazole but I'm being much more specific with the question. Which of these do you guys like more?
Nizoral or L'emarie (or something different?)
I realize Nizoral is the most popular but I would love something less harsh on my hair and the L'emarie is marketed much differently than the "anti-dandruff" Nizo and just seems to be made by gentler people although it still says "DHT blocker".
Not a doctor... but it looks like a skin fungus to me. You can try using this stuff on it and see if it clears up.
Stop procrastinating and try to fix it , you will feel better in life and love ;0
https://www.reddit.com/r/dandruff/
Figure out what type you have , Dry / Itchy / Fungus
try this https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-D-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Oz/dp/B00AINMFAC
fix the fungus issue first by soaking rubbing your scalp with high acidic thing like Apple Cider vineiger for 15 mins before a shower
Is there a 2%? I looked on Amazon and there's only a one percent. Is this it? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AINMFAC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1
I have eczema, and do have issues with it on my scalp. Prior to CG, I'd tried just about everything: coal tar shampoo in both liquid and bar forms, Head & Shoulders, Selsun Blue, tea tree shampoos both with and without sulfates. What ended up working for me is Nizoral. It's a ketaconazole shampoo.
I used Niz 2x a week when I first started. Before going CG, I'd been using Nizoral for about 2 years. When I went CG, I was down to using Nizoral about once every 1-2 months. Since going CG and trying oil treatments, using conditioner and oils on my roots and scalp, having wet hair for hours at a time, I've had to use Nizoral closer to once a week.
I just started alternating it with Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoo, and if I feel a little itchy between shampoo days I co-wash with the matching tea tree conditioner if it feels like build-up (instead of my Suave co-wash), or plan an oil treatment if it feels like my scalp is too dry.
Edit: Science-y Hair Blog has a post on this, along with some good notes about what product options have silicones, sulfates, proteins, etc in them. She even made special note of which products contain neem oil, because it can help but is potently stinky!
I do Nizoral 1% every other day because my head can be particularly itchy/dry, but some people do every few days. Before I put in my hair, I use OGX Biotin & Collagen shampoo. Don't get it from Amazon, you can get a 50% bigger bottle from Target for $6. After rinsing the Nizoral out, I use OGX Fight Fallout conditioner because Nizoral can definitely dry your hair out too much. Again, get it at Target for cheaper. Same routine applies except without the Nizoral on the other days. Make sure you let everything sit in your hair (especially Nizoral) for a few minutes before rinsing out.
I'm almost out of Nizoral and I'm thinking of replacing it with Regenepure since it's sulfate-free, so I might change up the routine then.
Try Nizoral, pretty great for dandruff control.
Is this the Nizoral shampoo that folks are talking about to combat AAS hairloss?
Have you tried this?
http://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-AntiDandruff-Shampoo-7-Ounce-Bottles/dp/B00AINMFAC
worked for me when other anti-dandruff shampoos didn't
Nizoral Shampoo <-works.
This is what she recommended.

Do I have it on my back too?

On Amazon, it is appears Regenpure is cheaper than Nizoral.
Nizoral 7 oz costs $21.74 = $3.10 per oz
Regenpure 8 oz costs $18.70 = $2.34 per oz.
Anyway, it lasts a while. I started using Nizoral in April 2014 and I still have a fifth of the bottle left. Granted, I keep my hair fairly short and there was a month where I forgot to use it, but still the cost per month is pretty low.
As for 1% vs 2%, whatever research I've done in the area has led me to the conclusion that 2% won't make much of a difference over 1% in terms of helping your hair. In my opinion, whatever additional benefit 2% gives is outweighed by the extra expense and difficulty in getting it (2% requires a prescription).
I live in Korea and it's easily found here.
