didnt go right into the card or replace the thermal paste etc so didnt void the warranty or remove the sticker etc. even used the old stuff in other places under the backplate.
temps went down from 110c when mining to 92-96C...
if you have an increase in temps i would check you have done it correctly and got enough thickness..

Nothing personal. I've just learned in my years as a tech to assume nothing. As I said, you also might want to replace any thermal pads that are on any of the smaller chips if you havent already.
I followed this guy's process and put 3 mm pads on the back plate. I used Thermalright pads.

got it down from 110c to 94c on lite, 98c on medium, 100c on high and 104c on extreeme OC using quick miner..
Yes all 3080 & 3090s use cheap thermal pads my 3090 was hitting 110c and thermal throttling when mining @ 120+MH/s . until i changed the thermal padding with 3 packs of this >

Theres a few videos on youtube etc showing how to do it .
I needed 3 packs cos i could only get 1.5mm so had to double it up everywhere . so get the 3mm and you can probably get away with only 2 packs.. plus I only replaced when was under the backplate and reused the old stuff in other places and didnt go right into the card or change the thermal paste etc and now my temps dont go above 92-96C even when set to extreeme OC and mining at 125MH/s
seen people putting cooling fins and fans on the back of them but that only reduces the temp by 2-4C. so replace the thermal padding with some decent stuff for a 14-18C drop :)

the 1.5mm stuff but had to double it up cos i couldnt get the 3mm stuff but only took the backplate off, didnt go deep into the card so never removed the warranty stickers :) now it sits at 92-94c.. 24/7 @ 125-126MH/s :)
