Wait, these doesn't include fans?
It's different that this right? Because the names are the same
I don't recommend a 360mm rad, especially for the 5600x which has a low tdp.
The Noctua NHD15 is quieter and more reliable, with the same thermal performance.
https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH/
Also, skip the Hard Drive entirely and just get a bigger SSD.
If it fits in your budget, get 3200 cl14 or 3600 cl16
It's been available at that price for weeks, you're probably thinking of the Chromax version? https://www.amazon.ca/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=chromax+nh-d15&qid=1608046292&s=electronics&sr=1-3
Going to order it, you guys have made me confident, if something does go wrong there are always ways to fix it :) too good of a deal...

edit; Worth it to post to the subreddit?
Looks like that case will take up to 160mm coolers but make sure these bigger coolers will clear any ram you have.
I don't have any experience with that new Corsair one but for $100 I'd get the chromax d15 and call it a day
👌
I agree with everyone saying cpu cooler however. Whatever you do don’t get a 120mm AIO. 120mm AIO’s have been proven to be worst than cheap air coolers. If you want to spend all $100 on a cpu cooler I’d recommend this one the Noctua D15.
https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH
Problem with water coolers most people here won’t talk about is that the lifespan for them are considerably less than air coolers while good air coolers can not only match but beat a lot of water coolers. With an AIO there is 3 points of failure (Fans, Pump, tubing) 2 of which would require you to replace the whole unit while in an air cooler all the can fail is the fans which would be a cheap replacement. It’s also won’t need to be replaced if you ever upgrade.
just to be sure it is this one correct? I just dont wanna buy the wrong one https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=asc\_df\_B07Y87YHRH/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=416652333997&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9422662440484498003&hvpone=&hvptwo=&h...
It should include the stock cooler but you'd be better off getting a more powerful cooler for that cpu if you're going to be using it fr hardware heavy games/programs. A good one would be the Noctua NH-D15
u/Comfortable_Mind7161 , u/TartarSauce1226, u/Halbzu, u/widowhanzo, u/xZephys, u/VladredditCSGO - I appreciate the comments and insights, thanks!
So Cooler Master for AIO choice,
and for Fan Cooler choice - this one: (?) https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B07Y87YHRH/ref=ewc\_pr\_img\_3?smid=A38F5RZ72I2JQ&psc=1
First time was totally accident, second time I thought it was hot enough but I probably did not have much room wiggle because of the CPU fan see link below. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y87YHRH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Change the AIO and case if you have an unscratchable itch to work on PCs. They both sort of suck and could do with a change; the case might as well be an oven and 120mm AIOs are notorious for being worse than air coolers that cost half as much. Making this change will reduce noise and temperatures, no doubt.
For case, I'm a fan of the Be Quiet 500DX. Great airflow, quiet, comes with 3 nice fans, and pretty good looking. For cooler, I can't recommend the Noctua NH-D15 enough. Coolers like the Deepcool Assassin III perform really close to it, but at the moment they're the same price and I just simply prefer the D15 for Noctua's customer service and abundance of accessories included. Any high-end air cooler will knock the socks off of your current 120mm AIO, that's for sure.
Either of those things costs around $100, both together will be a shade over $200. It ain't cheap, but it definitely improves overall quality of life, both for you and your computer.
Warning cause it’s really fresh in my mind the i9 runs super hot and can damage itself without a top top line cooler, idk much about the one you have there so it may be good but this is what I had to use
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07Y87YHRH?linkCode=gs2&tag=bgfg0f-20
Noctua was ahead of the game in adding LGA1700 support to their coolers, so the one that you buy should.
But if you want to double check, you'll look for the list of supported sockets, and see if LGA 1700 is in the list, with no caveats.
This listing of the Noctua NH-D15 chormax.black says for it's list of supported sockets, "... SecuFirm2 mounting system for easy installation on Intel LGA1700, LGA1200, LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156, ..."
LGA1700 is in the listed of supported sockets for that listing of the cooler, so if you order from that listing, you'll get the LGA1700 mounting brackets in the box.
If your willing to spend a little more I think this noctua cooler has been the best around for years and now it comes in black! Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black, Dual-Tower CPU Cooler (140mm, Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_MR0ZBYEBJG455RGS9HVE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It's this the case is a meshify c so not the largest internally and it was so awkward to fit that I had to take my gpu out and almost took the 2 top case fans out too
I would go for the big Nactua if it will fit in your case. Don't have to worry about the pump breaking and cools about as good.
I have the same motherboard and it's great. Note that it doesn't come with any front panel USB-C connection, though. I also run it with the 5800x and I paired it with the Noctua NH-D15 and am way happier with this as opposed to the various water coolers I've tried.
I would definitely agree, and I’d also recommend the black Bc it would look better imo. Here’s a link for you if you would like to consider.
Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black, Dual-Tower CPU Cooler (140mm, Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_ZVNCX7QTHF1873R01QWY
Not at all. An air cooler generally gives better performance for less cost in comparison to AIOs. Generally, you'd want to use an AIO for aesthetic or space depending on the build. If you're looking for neither, the Noctua NH D-15 is probably the best bang for your buck. It'll likely be more than enough for the 12900K if you don't plan on overclocking, but, reviews will confirm that.
However, you'll need this bracket to use with Alder Lake
thanks. After building an all out rgb monster - i quickly found that i missed the no rgb simple feel, so I basically rebuilt immediately and I couldn't be happier.
Cooler is the Noctua NH-D15 double tower - one of the best air coolers out there I believe.
I found this one who seems pretty efficient and not very noisy, but it's like 100bucks, do you have a better option ?

Kinda sad honestly since my pc is new still didn’t expect to change anything any time soon but it is what it is With this one i will be getting less heat and longer use. Thanks for ur kind answers
You should have some overclocking headroom with the Noctua NH-D15 if you can fit it in the case you want. It's just as good as most AIOs, and better than a lot of them. A little bit cheaper than most AIOs too, at $109
That pre-built system has a generic 120MM AIO. your PC is thermal throttling itself. If your not tech savvy or comfortable with undervolting the CPU. Id look at either swapping out that cooler for a 240MM to go in the front of the case or a nice Air cooler, like Noctuas ND-D15 Noctua - Amazon
Your cooler fan will run all the time as well as the pump pushing the fluid through the system.

Big down-fall with pre-builts and coolers not being sufficient for the build/processor.
You honestly don't need an AIO (the water cooling thing) a solid air cooler will be just fine unless you're doing heavy CPU tasks like rendering video. If this is primarily for gaming, just get a solid air cooler like this
You can spend that extra money on a better monitor or something else. Just my best suggestion
Perfect! Although I recommend the Chromax Noctua DH-D15 for a better look, only like $10 more

But that system as a whole should be perfect for your workstation!
the hated newegg surprisingly. But I also ordered on on amazon because I wasn't sure if the newegg was going to make it... they input the wrong address...But amazon has pre-order avail right now... will probably ship within a week too!

If you don't plan on overclocking at all the 5600x comes with a stock cooler which should be fine.
i suggest getting the black version of the cpu cooler just for a few more style points. also you don’t really need a 850 watt psu, maybe a 750 watt will be fine, and redistribute that into other components.

About the same price ($1.50 less) and it’ll be far quieter and more reliable with nearly identical performance. Noctua makes the quietest and most reliable fans on the market so you’ll be getting quieter fans plus no pump noise. Pumps are way louder than you’d expect.
Some great changes here.
If you're gonna go Noctua for the cooler, go with the Chromax version for ~15$ extra to get the nice black cooler instead of the beige/brown monstrosity.
I'm not a fan of liquid coolers.. Mine lasted less than 2 years before it died and nearly baked my CPU. I got the Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black, it is HUGE but it cools my CPU better than the liquid cooler ever did, also comes with the best thermal paste.

Hello,
I have a lian li lancool II rgb mesh and a ryzen 7 cpu, I wanted to get the NOCTUA NH-D15 BLACK and I was wondering if it will fit in my case? The ram i have are 4 sticks of ripjaws gskill.
One more dumb question, is an IO shield necessary? My case never came with one and I have contacted the seller on new egg and told them I haven’t gotten one, would I need to take out the entire motherboard to install the IO shield?
Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black, Dual-Tower CPU Cooler (140mm, Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ovmjFb6NS2V54
This is one of the best air coolers on the market if you don’t care too much about looks. It’s out of stock right now but it’s usually $99.99.
I spoke too soon... apparently it's available on Canada Amazon now I'm unsure if I should refund my H100x liquid cooler (unopened) and get this instead.
I ordered a bunch of PC parts and it's sitting in my living room, just need CPU and GPU at this point. Going to wait for RTX 3070 and a Zen 3 CPU (hopefully).
EDIT: Wording
That's for a 2 fan version from Amazon with Noctua as the vendor for the black version for 99.99.
The version you linked is by a third party vendor on Newegg.
You shouldn't be recommending the Nh-D15 SE to anyone at the price you linked.
The NH-D15SE was released a few years ago for AM4 launch. Its an older product and you should be recommending the NH-D15 which now has the AM4 bracket, which it didn't in the past.
I can not recommend this case more. The build quality and features are top notch. They have to be losing money on it. It was out of stock for almost two months.
EDIT: The Noctua NH-D15 fits with about a millimeter or two to spare.
Looks great. One idea I'd love to see someone do on a build like this, is using a Noctua NH-D15 (or similar) and fabricate an injector hat onto it instead of water cooling.
It’s You’re in the us it seems like you can get it in about 10 days.

I was doing some rendering with the stock cooler and it hit 91c. So I replaced the prism with Noctua NH-D15 and got a case with better airflow. Lian Li LANCOOL II Mesh. It hasn't gone over 78c on max load.
EDIT: At that price point you can't beat this case. The quality and thought behind it's design is incredible. They can't be making that much money on it.
Not sure which Noctua you are looking for. But, I was about to get the following one for $100, but decided to save $40 with the Fuma 2. Noctua NH - D15 Chromax Black

The CPU Cooler will fit in the case but you'll ran into a problem with the ram I. with the extra fan in the front the ram won't fit I suggest getting the Corsair Vengeance LPX it doesn't have RGB but you won't be able to see the ram with the CPU Cooler in the the way so I personally don't think it's that big a deal, if you really want RGB you can remove the extra fan and it will fit. Also if you don't know is a black version of the NH-D15 https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH as for custom cooling do you mean custom water cooling or just adding a aftermarket CPU cooler like the NH-D15? A aftermarket is easy enough to install so you shouldn't have a problem there as long as you read the manual. Personally I don't have much experience with RGB since nothing in my computer uses it so I'll let someone else help you with that.
11 in stock on Amazon as of last night.

Nice budget.
A few things here:
Keep in mind:
I would favor the Corsair 7000D simply for the full mesh front over the other two, it should yield the best thermal performance. I think they're also known to be easy to build in which is a plus.
As far as CPUs go, buy the best that your budget can afford. With that said tho, I think the newer i7 13700k makes sense in a lot of regards. Single core performance like gaming is close enough to the 13900k while saving a big chunk of cash. Solid multi core performance uptick from the previous 12700k chip as well, which I reckon would be good for your Autodesk program. For gaming alone I'd even recommend the 13600k but the 13700k makes more sense for your needs.
You mentioned you multitask a lot. The CPU will of course come into play, but the available total memory will matter the most. I'd aim for 32GB of RAM since you do CAD design which will benefit from more memory.
Cooling wise, it's up to you whether you want liquid or air cooling. Yeah, air cooling is easier to maintain and install. I'd recommend sticking with higher end air coolers like the Noctua NH-D15 or Dark Rock Pro 4. These should do a fine job.
I haven't personally used liquid, but I hear the general consensus is the Arctic Liquid Freezer II line is the best value and build quality. I'd look there.
Also the NH-D15 chromax black is on sale for 99.99 through one of their resalers on the side options, the reviews for the seller are pretty bad but i figured I'd give it a shot
https://www.amazon.ca/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3W29YO6ZXWX4K&keywords=noctua&qid=1660501070&sprefix=noctua%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-5
HCEcom seller
Sure, always depend on your budget and requirements (like i dont want the fan to make any noise, or im limited by the size of my tower).

I'd go for something like this: arctic 34 duo for cheap up to something like: Noctua NH-D15 for best quality overall.
Noctua is a rule of thumb, but they are expensive :P
Remember that if u buy a GOOD cpu fan it will last you forever (for real, u will change it bc u want and not bc its broken or whatever).

Oder nimm einen Lüftkühler, amazon hat noctua b-ware wenn dir das egal ist und was ich auch persönlich über eine 240mm aio nehmen würde:
Noctua B-Ware 80€.
Sinnvolle Upgrades und leichte Budget Streckungen:
60€ extra für den 12700
Mehr SSDs oder 2TB ssds, günstige 2tb 150€ , sehr gute 2tb 200€.
Oder eine bessere SSD ab 110€. wie 970 evo , sn770 sn850, 980 pro , seagate 520,530
850W netzteil für 15€ mehr.
12gb 3080 für 110€ mehr.
In dieser Reihenfolge.
This was the one I was looking at.
height of cooler: 6.49 inches
im not sure what u mean by capacity space of case, the dimensions are 17.83 x 9.06 x 18.35 inches (length by width by height)
ram height: 31mm (couldn't find on website so had to search up)

Here's my take on it.
Let me know what you think :)
Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black, Dual-Tower CPU cooler (140mm, Black) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_H4Q2DMZK8MW12MK7KEHF
Might get this, corsair support emails are slow so might just return it to amazon
Update: I've obtained a Noctua NH-D15 Cromax fan and have since replaced the unknown branded water-cooling radiator setup that came with the motherboard (in the way I wound up purchasing the motherboard).
This very heatsink contraption.
This is by no means my first heatsink styled fan cooler. The previous one, which is useable with the older motherboard only, was this Arctic Freezer Xtreme.
The temperatures are doing even better than with the water cooler. Seeing about a 12º lower during increased throttling while playing games.
Though one of the more annoying things reported with the Noctua is that it can be noisy. It came with noise-reduction adapters, but I myself have no significant issues with noise. My tower does not sit at desk level where everything else resides. I'm an oldie from the time when you never did such a thing and the tower sits beneath. Noise? Where-ever it may be, it is not somewhere that I can hear it!
I did have to reposition my GPU to a lower PCIe slot as it would otherwise be rubbing and touching the new Noctua. It was a rather unexpectedly chonkier thing to fit in with everything else, this cooler.
Changing question to solved and that's the end of that chapter.
Am I being silly pulling the trigger on this list? Is it worth waiting a few months for DDR5 to go down in price? That seems extremely unlikely.

If you want to do air cooling just get the Noctua aircooler instead.
I know its double the price, itll handle the CPU a lot better, see conclusion section here for insight
If you want an AIO cooler, the EK AIO 360 can be purchased directly from EK along with the adapter for a similar price:
https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-aio-360-d-rgb
If you'd consider an air cooler, the Noctua NH-D15 / NH-D15 chromax.Black are more than enough to keep it cool, and the listings on Amazon include the mounting hardware:

would cool better than a 120mm aio.
I've seen a lot of people recommend the Noctua NH-D15, but i don't like how it looks (the colors) but i saw this on amazon:
But I'm wondering if this one is just a recolor and has the same performance, or if its different.
It’s a Noctua DH-15 chromax.Black
fyi noctua nh-d15 chromax is $110 brand new on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_BNFVHE3TQP5JHQBT1CSW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I got my eye on this Noctua, but I've not used this one yet.

"cheap".
This is a great little budget cooler. Spending more really doesn't get you more unless you go for more fans like
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_2QXWFMGR78447R2D0GQQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 But now your are adding more noise from more fans.
https://smile.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH?ref_=ast_sto_dp
Is this the one you were referring to? (ignore color)
thanks, you think this is good? https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH/ref=psdc_11036281_t1_B00L7UZMAK
Lesser... looks? Chromax variants are completely black.
And then the NH-U12 redux is gray on gray.
If you can stretch your budget a bit, the Arctic Cooling Liquid Freezer II is considered to be a great performer.
However, if you're spending this much and also considering air coolers, it might be worth considering a solid air cooler instead, which come with competitive performance vs. 240mm AIOs and no worries about coolant leakage, such as the Noctua NH-D15 or its black Chromax variant if the brown colour is not your cup of tea.
Probably the cool, quiet, noctua fans. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y87YHRH
https://www.amazon.ca/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH
This chonky boi is better then any AIO.
No problem! Here is the Dark Rock Pro 4 and here is the Noctua one I mentioned Noctua Nh-D15
Is this the cooler you're talking about? It looks to suffer with the same issue with the ram clearance unless I'm misunderstanding. The video I watched also recommended theScythe Fuma 2 but that looks like it will have the same issue?
I'm looking at this page: Amazon.com: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black, Dual-Tower CPU Cooler (140mm, Black): Computers & Accessories
Not seeing an auto-notify option. :(
That said, I've got the link saved and I have been refreshing several times a day for a while now.. lol
Just found my motherboard available, so am considering buying that now, but I have literally no other parts yet for my build.
It's a weird chicken/egg dilemma. If I buy some parts now, but can't test them for a month (i.e. until I get the rest of the parts)...am I still within return window if they are broken, etc? Do I buy what I can now and assume the prices won't drop in the next month or so? If I wait until everything is available, do I think it actually will or will some parts that are available now become unavailable later? Lol
PCPartPicker - My build
It appears that the amazon NH-D15 chromax.black is in stock with two fans. Any reason not to get that one for a couple of bucks more? Newegg shipping was $5 for me.
PCPP is a great tool, but not the be all end all. I think you are getting overwhelmed though. PC building with or without PCPP is not that difficult. Take a step back and focus on what you actually want from the build. You have, basically, a massive budget and can do almost anything you want. The constraint is actually finding the parts because of the shortage.
Start with the CPU/Motherboard. Performance wise, AMD is the way to go right now, but only if you can get your hands on the new Ryzen chips (5600X, 5800X, 5900X, 5950X). If you can't, well that solves that problem and you have to go Intel (10600K, 10700K, 10900K). I'd probably suggest a 10700K on a Z490 motherboard. You'll need a good cooler to get the most out of it. Do you want to do All in One liquid cooling or Air Cooling. I prefer air, but a lot of people prefer the aesthetics of liquid cooling. Here's widely considered to be the best air cooler:

But you will get it in a few weeks.

As for now, it is available on AMAZON.CA
I ordered mine on the 16th, then it went unavailable again couple hours later, now its back on...
I purchased the chromax white covers as an addition.
Yeah you can get a D15 Chromax for $100 and the covers for $20. Great looking setup if you prefer air cooling, or you can also get a 280mm Arctic LF2 for $110 whenever it's in stock.
Hae you seen the chromax black version?
> Noctua nah-d15 chromax
Holy shit $381.50 for a CPU fans and heat sinks? https://www.amazon.ca/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH?ref_=ast_sto_dp
That's crazy
The Noctua also comes in a "chromax.black" variant (https://www.amazon.ca/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-Black-Dual-Tower-Cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH < Canadian link) which looks really nice.
There are Chromax versions in black now.
Mid range you also have the Arctic e34 esports duo, or scythe mugen 5 and Scythe Ninja 5.
Top end: Bequiet Dark Rock Pro4 or the boss which is the Noctua NH-D15 (Chromax)

Been in stock for a while. I bought 2 in the last month.

As for recommendations I have, I think you should go with a beefier cooler like a Noctua DH-15 Black because the 10900k runs hot. You can save a $100 with the M.2 and go with M.2 WD Blue 2TB nvme ssd.
As for personal opinion, I think your power supply is a bit overkill (that’s just me though) and you might want some better quality case fans. Case is a good choice and easy to build in, I love mine.
If you're going to get a cpu over $400, recommend a better cooler like the noctua dh-15 or go AIO. Also get a fast NVME 1 or 2 tb instead of sata ssd.
true, this is very expensive, but the black one is an option;
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Noctua-NH-D15-chromax-black-dual-tower-cooler/dp/B07Y87YHRH
Do you ever hear your CPU? I hear this thing all the time and it kinda stressed me out lmao, thinking about this or maybe something slightly smaller. My old CPU fan doesn't fit my new MOBO so I'm trying to find specifics on what supports what but I'm having a hard time finding that info for CPU fans.

Double checked the ad, but there is nothing about it being used. It was through amazon as a prime sale through their official amazon Noctula store. Im a little disappointed ugh.

Aren't they only $100, sold by Noctua through Amazon, either fulfilled by Amazon or shipped from Noctua in Austria?
I believe your cpu cooler you have for sale is a little pricey amazon price
I ordered one today from Amazon as I noticed they had them in stock. It's sold directly from Noctua though so no prime.
