If you use the $20 gas spring monitor mount from Amazon you'll have a ton of desk real estate.

If you cannot find a simple solution, a monitor stand might be useful, I use this with my LG 29UM67:
My desk is wobbly so it didnt solve the problem of me hitting my desk and it wobbles, but the mount is strong enough to keep it from losing its position. the moving parts can be adjusted with the tools provided with the mount.
If you can (assuming this isn't a desk at work or a glass desk), you can buy a mount that screws in to the wood like this one from Amazon.
I bought one of their single mounts in Mar, 2018 and was not happy with it. The built quality and gas spring were good but the mounting mechanism was poorly designed. The plastic nub is screwed onto the metal rod like a nut. So if the clamp is "too tight", then instead of loosening the metal rod (which holds the clamp), the plastic nub starts to unscrew from the rod and leaving you with nothing to hold onto to undo the metal rod. Many times when I was moving my setup around and the nub just came right off as I tried to move my mount, so I had to hold the rod as hard as I could to tighten the connection between it and the plastic nub, to give myself a chance to loosen the clamp. I also bought a Primecables single gas mount at the time and it was far better, the nub and metal rod were in one piece. I later replaced NB with another Primecables single gas mount. They go as low as $20 (or lower?) so they're a much better deal. I hope this made sense; English isn't my first language lol.
this was the specific one I bought: https://www.amazon.ca/North-Bayou-Monitor-Motion-Computer/dp/B01FRWONKI/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=north+bayou+monitor+desk+silver&qid=1598634556&sr=8-4
Lots could have changed so the posted model might not even be the same as mine. But from the pictures they look the same.
edit some words
This one is great, but sadly sells out rather quickly when it's available for $37 ($69 atm) https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01FRWONKI
edit: Oops, I should also mention you better make sure you get something that can support the weight of that monitor as well. Typically the larger screens are, 1+1, heavier than what conventional arms can hold.
This gas spring mount is a much better buy
Was thinking about getting this one on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FRWONKI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Reviews seems pretty good
Bought it from amazon North Bayou Monitor Desk Mount Stand... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FRWONKI?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Hey, it arrived today and I took some pictures while setting it up.
Here's the ALBUM.
Quick thoughts:
- I was afraid I messed up because I did not check the table clamp range (which is 10mm to 50mm). For me it worked on a ~55mm table, give or take.
- Movements are really smooth compared to the North Bayou gas spring mount that I had. I'm one to move the monitor around a lot, so it comes in handy.
- Installation was pretty straight forward, I would call it easy if it wasn't because of my shit cable management skills.
Never fear, PriceKnight is here!

I have for the vertical monitor a cheap North Bayou arm off of Amazon, the upper monitor is a Vivo extra tall single monitor stand and the ultra wide Acer Predator X34 is on the stock stand
These gas spring mounts are absolutely fantastic for the price -- I'm using two of them. This is a crowd favorite on reddit.
Left Monitor arm and Right Monitor arm
note: sorry about that was sharing the mic arm for someone else.. lol

This one, works awesome and is pretty cheap, holds up the monitor with no issues.
