The answer is no. I've bought this in the past until I learned that at least 1/3 of it is C12 (Lauric Acid) which is more of an LCT and not an MCT. It's cheaper to produce though so it acts like a filler. You want to look for another brand that is primarily C8 (Caprylic Acid) and C10 (Capric Acid) which are true MCTs.
Personally I use the brand NOW, which only contains C8 and C10, but there are other brands as well. This just seems to be the cheapest option off Amazon.
Best deal I've found is on Amazon, and this doesn't have any strong flavors. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0019LRY8A/
I mix it with shakes or smoothies and don't have any stomach problems from it. One time I thought I'd skip the shake and just swallow it directly. Big mistake. I was in the bathroom almost all day. I've never tried capsules before, but I recommend spreading it out over a whole day or at least a few hours and not taking it all in one go.
if you're doing a pre-workout protein shake, add the MCT oil it mixes nicely with whey and has no taste. You'll get a nice little energy boost. Some people put it in their coffee as well. They sell it at GNC but amazon is gonna be a better value.
Not an MCT, MCT oil :) It is often a coconut and palm oil extract that stays in liquid form at room temperature and who will trigger bill secretion from the stomach.
Edit to add: like this
MCT oil or coconut oil (usually 60-70% MCT).
Medium chain triglycerides are easy for your body to use in transition, and help push transition into ketosis.
Also, consider trying to cut carbohydrates even lower (target 10-15 g for a week) and do more light cardio to speed depletion of glycogen stores (especially muscle glycogen). Honestly you're probably in better cardiovascular shape now, your body is more efficient at using energy, and you're burning reserve glycogen that much slower.
Like Prololole said, ketostix aren't always reliable. Trust the taste in your mouth, your pee, and your estimate of energy levels across the day more than the stix.
I'll let Jimmy talk about it, you can also google lots of great info
no but there's a huge article about coconut oil and alzheimers on the internet, i'm sure there's plenty more now. the MCT oils in coconut oil fuel the brain very well.

A frequent meal of mine is a Quest bar and a few tablespoons of MCT Oil. Very satisfying.
Awesome progress, keep up the good work.
I notice a boost in mental clarity and energy after taking MCT's so you may want to try them and see if you notice any benefits, I use NOW brand. If you test our ketones you will see a strong boost within 20 minutes.
