I think it's something like 2g but since it's not digested it doesn't break a fast (ymmv). So I take them at least once a day (3 capsules at a time). They also make a powder that you can mix into shakes or sauces.
I also eat a ton of avocado and brussel sprouts, but the glucomannan gives the extra boost.
Glucomannan is awesome! It's just fiber, but expands a whole lot in your stomach (making you feel full) after drinking a lot of water. If I am really hungry and it's not time to eat, I'll take 1-2 capsules with 24 oz of water

Your sugarless gum could be the culprit, sugarless gum usually contains Xylitol which is a sugar alcohol. Each piece of gum has about 2 carbs and 2 sugar alcohols, the sugar alcohols are not metabolized well and can cause bathroom issues. Stick to bacon, nuts, and cheese for snacks and give up the gum, your cravings will go away and you will do better on the diet.
For fiber I've been trying Glucomannan capsules based on a recent Dr. Oz recommendation, seem to help and have little carbs. They are made from Konjac root, same thing in the Shirataki (low carb) noodles.
