The case? I think they have two different ones, I bought the one that looks like an otterbox defender. With rubber around the edges. It feels like it would protect, but the rubber used was very stiff on mine.
Hopefully yours will be better and the ones I bought were just a bad run or something.
Here is a link to the case we bought.
Hmm it was working fine, now not so much. Will get back to you once I figure it out :)
Ok I got it to work again after a reboot, but it does look to use the proximity sensor all the time. So when the screen is off you can see it flashing away.. I'm not sure that is that healthy so I've uninstalled it and will hope for another solution - the problem being that the power button is awful :). If you pull the stylus out that wakes it up too but again that's a bit clunky.
Why they couldn't put some decent volume and power buttons on it I have no idea.. I do wonder if there is a case that adds some extra bumps to these fiddly bastards. To stop it being so awkward. (Maybe this - [link] - but would mean I couldn't use the Smart Cover thing)
The settings if you're interested to try it out were pretty much everything turned off apart from the wake on proximity setting.
This looks exactly like what I need. My only concern is that it probably won't fit this case that I am already using for it.
Hurray for the Shield tablet. I love mine so much that my brother saw it and went out and bought one too. We even bought the same case. Check this one out for yours. It covers the screen and offers good drop protection which I can already attest to
If you really want to drop it and ran over it with your car maybe this one is more appropriate:
I have this one
It works very well, has an integrated stand (horizontal only), makes the shield MUCH easier to hold. It is also reasonably priced.
They also have just a skin, which might work better in concert with the shield cover.
