It's the extra additives in Pam - I use something like this and you can spray just olive oil - I do this all the time for foods in my air fryer.
you may have already gotten a similar comment but there are hundreds and i cant really search em all. but you can buy a spray bottle for canola oil
cheaper in the long run
I got one of these and haven't looked back.
Just popping in to point out to never use canned aerosol oil /cooking spray in an air fryer, instapot, foodi, ect. It will absolutely destroy the nonstick lining. Instead, get a cooking oil mister off Amazon like this and fill it with olive oil.
You can also save money and feel less weird by getting a cooking oil sprayer.
I think I have this sprayer, but its been a few years and at this point I'm pretty sure they're all the same thing with different names. Gets the job done, but sometimes comes out a little too focused for my liking
I got my in-laws a Misto which basically aerosolizes the oil. They love it. I think I paid like $20 in store, but online I'm seeing $34 for one and $16 for 2 so I'm not sure which are real. But eventually I'd like to try a Misto for myself
