If you're not looking for that exact thing, here is a well-reviewed portable mattress: https://www.amazon.com/Olee-Sleep-Topper-Tri-Folding-Memory/dp/B075S5JTGW/ref=sr\_1\_6?dchild=1&keywords=portable+memory+foam+mattress&qid=1622348016&sr=8-6
It's interesting that no one is really suggesting a nap. I always need a short nap after lunch. Is it possible to eat lunch faster (maybe bring a pre-made lunch to work), work out a spot to nap, set your timer, and a take a nap? I'm guessing there's not a great place to do it at work, but I'd just be upfront about it with my boss. The bottom line is that you'd get more work done with the short nap.
I literally use this badboy from amazon at work: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075S5JTGW/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_CNPeDb97W18Z0
Folding mattress on Amazon $69. I use it and it’s more comfortable than my old bed. I use an Olee 4” thick one for months. Don’t listen to this other bullshit these cats don’t know what they’re talking about- you don’t want a stupid twin size mattress clogging up your car.
Here’s what I use:
Olee Sleep Tri-Folding Memory Foam Topper, 4", Gray, Single size
This is the one I have. Fits perfectly with the seats down, and is a million times more comfortable than an air mattress
I was looking at mattress toppers a while ago when I had a very firm cotton futon mattress in my car. They were ridiculously expensive.
For a little more you can get something like this.
On a road trip I got something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Olee-Sleep-Topper-Tri-Folding-Memory/dp/B075S5JTGW
Fold the passenger seat all the way forward. It lays almost flat. I thought it worked pretty well for me.
Maybe a foldable mattress? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075S5JTGW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_qVyoFbXEX2WDA
Sure!
1 piece of plywood - I can't remember if it is 1/2" or 3/4" thick, it was just laying around in my parent's garage. The piece of plywood was 96"x48". I cut the plywood into 4 pieces measuring 18.75"x48" each. I had to make one extra cut on one of them to fit around the dog edition fan that is installed in the back of my element.
6 latches -I used these. I'd like to find something more heavy-duty but settled on what I could find at Home Depot. Ideally, you want something that will prevent the boards from separating from each other. I have two latches on each board to hold them together. You can see one side of the latches in the second picture. I don't have an issue of feeling them through the mattress.
PVC pipe and flange - I use a piece of PVC pipe and a flange to support the board closest to the steering wheel. The flange is screwed to the bottom of the plywood and the other side of the PVC pipe sets in my cup holder. I also use the same support on one of the middle boards in between the front and rear seats.
Once you have your boards cut, you can see if you have any unsupported areas and use the flange and PVC pipe trick to add extra support. I'm sure 2x4's would work as well, but PVC seemed lighter and easier to transport around.
2 Foldable Mattresses - Got these off amazon
