Yes. The one child policy put the number of children below 2.1, which is known replacement level. How would you describe forced abortions and forced sterilizations and forced 1-child policies except a form of genocide?
In the documtary One Child Nation ( [link] ) one doctor alone admits to having performed over 50,000 forced sterilizations and abortions.
The USA has it's problems, but at least corruption and evil there has to happen in the dark, be masked and hidden and there are those that find it and speak out against it and they have protections and a voice (although that seems to be eroding). The Chinese government commits evils and atrocities and no one can speak out against it for fear of punishment. Evil rises exponentially in such an environment, we've witnessed this rise in the past and anyone that has studied it knows the misery that lies ahead.
I wont debate you and all I will say is this. Never forget Dr. Li. He's the original hero doctor who tried to warn the world about coronavirus in 2019. He was taken down by the most evil regime of our lifetime. China detained him for trying to sound the alarm. That we blindly support because we're greedy. Dr. Li ended up dying over COVID and if China didn't illegally detain him we would've known about COVID months sooner.
Not only did China originally try and cover up the virus by arresting doctors and oppressing freedom of speech by censoring information online, but they're now trying to blame the virus on the US and Italy.
China is a rogue state under the leadership of the communist party. They are so petty that they censor video games because people can speak freely in them. They are so evil that they send millions of innocent people into concentration camps for being muslim, showing them "absolutely no mercy".
They let hundreds of millions of babies die or be abducted over the past several decades just so they could save fifty CENTS per dead/abducted baby.
Not only do they censor and arrest journalists in their own country, but they interfere with freedom of speech around the world too. Including sending journalists who work for the communist party themselves to ask questions directly to the American President.
China cheats and scams our companies by banning them from China and then stealing our technology to create competitors.
Regardless of what we think about our own governments reactions being too slow to the virus, you have to face the facts that China is a rogue actor here who tried covering it up, just like they did with SARs. When Corona started spreading, China even detained the doctor who exposed SARs all those years ago. They are still trying to cover SARs up in 2020.
The Chinese government is like that friend who sleeps on your couch and eats all your food, doesn't pay you rent, breaks all the shit in your house, denies all responsibility, and that also tries to control every aspect of your life.
We would be better off cutting all ties with China and stop fueling them economically because we're addicted to consumerism and cheap crap. Our greed is fueling an explosive and evil regime that one day may control the world and make it terrible. I think the Corona virus is an example of what could come in the future.
It's true they did cover up the virus at first. They knew about it as early as November. Never forget Dr. Li who tried to warn the world and was taken down by the most evil regime of our lifetime. That we blindly support because we're greedy.

One Child Rule is enough proof of that.
Came here to mention this. There was a documentary on Amazon One Child Nation that I watched maybe in the past year, and the woman who made the film interviewed a bunch of families affected by the rule. There was a lot of stuff going on because of this rule. Women were kidnapped by government officials (often just small town leaders in rural areas...like, these were people's neighbors enforcing the law under penalty of government threat) and forced to be sterilized, families who tried to hide their daughters were forced to give up a child if they were found to have two or more (and because sons were valued more as individuals who would be able to eventually support the parents and family, daughters were often given up or taken from the family), and there were many parents who secretly worked with covert (so, technically illegal) adoption agencies to get their daughters to families who could take care of them. The filmmaker interviewed people who worked in such adoption agencies as well as a bunch of citizens who used the services and how all these actions had to be hidden from government officials. They even interviewed a man in a rural community who had to enforce these rules. The whole situation was just...messy. The One Child Policy didn't end until 2016, and the government was really strict about how much information got reported about social conditions surrounding that policy.
The story that stuck with me was from a father who took his infant daughter in a basket and left her in a crowded market hoping someone would just take her in. I think he said he went back repeat times to check (from a distance) if she'd been picked up, and he ended up just finding her dead in the basket from starvation and exposure. Completely obliterated the man because the societal pressure and threat of government penalties pushed him into this impossible seeming position. He felt like he had no other options, and he put his hope in someone coming along and being able to get his daughter to a family that could accept her...but everyone was dealing with these situations, and his daughter was just overlooked.
There's still so much stigma about how sexism plays into China's culture - be it external perceptions of the One Child rule or internal understanding of it. I know when I was growing up (I'm in my 30s now), I just remember having the idea that the Chinese valued sons over daughters, and I can remember my mom talking about how people would adopt girls from China because otherwise they'd be killed or abandoned. Definitely a misrepresentation, but parents and families were pushed to drastic measures under fear of government punishment to either hide their daughters, adopt them out, or misidentify them as cousins or distant relatives to protect them.
China's ruthless decisions to cling onto power have caused countless thousands of people to die, and has really put the entire world at risk.
Never forget Dr. Li who tried to warn the world and was taken down by the most evil regime of our lifetime. That we blindly support because we're greedy.
