Are you acting dumb on purpose now? This is literally what you said:
> No, what's shameful is pretending that this conflict has validity in order to protect the honor of the dead and at the same time risking the lives of more
And I disagreed with it, at length. You're honestly talking about my reading comprehension, when you somehow thought I was agreeing with you about that point? My whole post was a rebuttal to the point that it is not about the honour of the dead, but ongoing oppression.
I think this is whole discussion is futile if you're this incapable of taking on new points.
> Yeah aren't you a smarty pants. It's hilarious how smart you seem to think you are just because you are aware of the existence of fatah. What is this, /r/I am very smart?
LOL please tell me you're not serious? This is too hilarious to be true. You honestly thought I was talking about Fatah when talking about "other Palestinian resistance groups"? And that I thought I was smart for knowing about them? I'm dying here. This alone is proof that you haven't got the faintest clue about this conflict and have literally just read a book and think that somehow makes you an expert on the matter.
Have you not heard of Jihad al-Islam and their Al-Quds brigade? (Despite their name, they have nothing to do with Al-Qaeda or their mentality). Have you not heard of the Leftist resistance movement, PFLP (the Peoples' Front for the Liberation of Palestine)? The Popular Resistance Committees? The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine? Do you know anything about non-violent resistance (not Fatah's ongoing complicity with occupation)? The BDS movement, youth movements, popular movements? Resistance through art, literature, poetry, film-making? (Do the words "Five Broken Cameras" mean anything to you?).
In short, do you know nothing about Palestine and its struggle? And, in short, the answer is most certainly that you don't, so I would appreciate it if you would stop speaking as though you do because you once managed to read a book.
> It certainly doesn't invalidate his opinions like you seem to imply.
It sure as hell raises massive questions about his motivations in writing that book, and the truthfulness of the matter in it. Your judgment that he did it because he was repulsed by Hamas is no more valid than any other, i.e. that he was bought out, had other incentives, other motivations, etc. I'm not suggesting it was necessarily that, only that it would maybe do to read more than that highly questionable single point of view and thinking that it provides you with all know you need to know.
Look, despite the animosity we've exchanged, I really think you would change your perception of the situation (not Hamas necessarily, but the struggle in general) if you were to broaden your reading around the matter, and I would heartily and genuinely encourage you to do so. A very good book I've read recently is "One Country" by Ali Abunimah, which gives in my opinion a very well reasoned summary of the situation and provides a realistic, fair and sound vision for how the conflict might be resolved peacefully, and to both sides' long-term advantage. If you take anything from this discussion, even if you're still offended by me personally (and I would not blame you), I would hope that you would read more about it- and that book is a good starting point.
Peace.
Because it should be ONE state since these are virtual simaese twins that are intertwined and to seperate one from the ohter would kill them both....Read 'One Country' by Ali Abunimah
