I also prefer to groom my Aussiedoodle at home. I bought a grooming kit off Amazon and it works great. We usually groom him when he’s exhausted, this means after a trip to the dog park. I watch a few videos of “go groomer” on YouTube, and bought some of the shampoos and conditioners she recommended. Grooming at home has been great, it saves money and you get to control how much fur your taking off! I just bought this one from Amazon

Hoping it gets the job done for what I need. My Catahoula mix is starting to look like a bear. I've only started watching videos on YouTube for guidance.
We bought pet grooming clippers- low noise. ~$20
We also purchased booties & a face mask. She hates the booties, but sort of enjoys the face mask.
Now we gang up on her, get the protective gear on, then one holds her down while the other shaves her like a sheep. The cat doesn't even fight much, she trusts us more than a stranger.
You can get pet trimmers on amazon that are very quiet.
Might take a little time to get them use to it.
This is the one I use: https://smile.amazon.com/ONEISALL-Cllippers-Rechargeable-Cordless-Electric/dp/B01HRSZRXM/
Some groomers will sedate your cat to groom them, and that's not something you want to do, especially on a senior cat.
I use these clippers
We use these ONEISALL Dog Shaver Clippers Low... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HRSZRXM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share And they’re way better than the more expensive ones we previously used.

These are the clippers I use for my Poodle: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HRSZRXM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They're amazing. Used to pay 60-70 bucks every 3-4 months for a groom, now it's free. I just buzz my poodle using the lowest guard or no guard and let him grow out, he looks silly for a couple weeks but it's cute. He actually gets excited when the clippers come out. The hardest part is the nails, my wife uses a dremel (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TU0XG4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) since we cut his quick too close a couple times and got scared. You also have to express your dog's glands, you can youtube those videos. Basically you're squeezing ass juice out. Finish it off with a bath and shampoo and you're golden.
