The antennas I purchased were these, but I quickly realized the antennas were junk and made my own stubs to go on the magmount bases. They say they're 1090, but they resonate somewhere in the UHF range (they're likely TV antennas). I don't have a specan with a tracking generator so I can't actually measure their resonance.

The antennas are screw-on with an M3 thread. I simply took an M3 standoff I had in my parts box, soldered a length of copper wire to it, used a caliper to mark the overall length at 3.01" then cut it and covered it in heat shrink. I did the same for a half-wave as I'm not always guaranteed a ground plane where I might be attaching the antenna. In order to properly match, a 1/4 wave antenna needs a ground plane whereas a 1/2 wave does not.
Not. It's a 1090 tuned antenna - it is this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013S8B234/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought the RTL_SDR blog device. But mine runs REALLY hot as well.
I also ordered this last night and should have it tomorrow:
