Strangely, yeah, the seat is hard, but I never minded. Put like 8,000 miles on that bike.
Most people would change out the seat. I use this lock because it's combo and long enough to lock the bike in every situation. It's a good lock, but not an awesome lock with awesome cost. It's enough that my bike has not been stolen yet in 3 years. Usually there's enough room to get the frame and back wheel because it's length. I can never lose a key because it doesn't have one. All locks can be broken by a pro, so that's why having a 'cheap' functional bike is a good move. There's nothing cheap about many bikes except the cost. https://www.amazon.com/OnGuard-Bulldog-Mini-Combo-9-5/dp/B01DKY8IWO/ref=sr_1_23?dchild=1&keywords=onguard+bike+lock&qid=1619547598&sr=8-23
I haven't changed anything abou tthe bike except the pedals. I do do my own bike maintainance so I have collected about $150 worth of tools. Oh, I did change the back tire to a 'gatorskin' so I never get flats.
Tools include pedle removal wrench (warning, one side is reverse threads so don't crank on wrench until you know which way you are supposed to turn). 3-sided Allan wrench to tighten seat, put on new brake pads. spoke tightener (watch videos before trying to use it. never 'guess' and turn tightener). Buy tools without sweating cost. Use one once and it pays for a trip to bike shop then you have it forever. So I don't care if I shell out $5-$15-or $30 for a tool. Bike shops charge $30 to look at you. I also have some cheap led lights ($10 a pair) white in front, red in back. techically required at night. After you ride awhile you'll realize they are great to have on anyway. Lets people see you and you don't have to constantly worry if cars see you. All the parts, tools are dirt cheap. Untill you get a better bike then all the parts and tools prices go way up. Untill you get a great bike then all the parts and tools are insanely expensive. I never needed more than my $250 21-speed hybrid. It's been cheap AF and I love the ride. Love being able to part and shop anywhere.
