• He's ignorant of biblical scholarship 1 2 3 (See also: any of his works, compare to actual Bible scholars).

• For all of the above, see also his wikipedia page, which details his deficient theology and lack of credibility as a voice in biblical scholarship.

I'm a pastor and seminarian who has studied the Bible and theology academically for 8+years now. I think I understand him just fine.

This is not only reflective of precisely the syncretistic, nationalist religion of American Christianity I was talking about, it's also entirely ignorant of the law.

That's still a 2% death rate, which is concerning. It's also ignorant of the dangers of Covid-19 and the overwhelming majority consensus of medical experts.

You're already cited how MacArthur thinks he's: 1) Qualified to be a lawyer, 2) Qualified to Contest the consensus of the medical Community. He's also exhibited ignorance and arrogance on a number of accounts. Pointing out the obvious does not place me in the same camp as him.
