Teeth whitening is done by yourself or your dentist. It's rare to have it done by your dentist unless you need it immediately for some reason, it's expensive ($1K mark) because they need to make a custom mold to protect your gums and will take a couple of hours. Otherwise you can do it gradually with Opalescence Go which dentists sell and is the same solution used above just less intense.
But really, the main way to get your teeth whiter and keep your teeth white is to brush and floss (flossing is incredibly important) regularly and have regular 6 month cleanings at your dentist.
Marcus is a beautiful man, inside and out. I'm seeing some hateful judgments here and I don't agree with them. That being said, teeth whitening has some a long way. My teeth were Marcus shade recently, partially because I used to be a smoker. I'm also a big coffee drinker! However, my dentist offered to whiten my teeth but the cost was like 500 bucks. I found the same product but without the expensive custom molds on Amazon. It's called opalescence go. My fiance and I did them together before our engagement photos and it really helped a lot. It's one of the cheapest and easiest ways to improve your appearance because you only have to use it for like ten days and then one day every few months. Much easier than wearing nice clothes, diet and exercise, and salon haircuts.

I had used the crest white strips in the past but a dentist gave me a sample of these to try and I fell in love with them! I found the same ones on amazon for much less than the dentist. They cover all your teeth rather than just the front ones like white strips. They are much more comfortable and effective! I've had great results with the teeth whitening gels- specifically Poladay and Opalescence. You can buy them on amazon but I get them directly from my dentist. The initial investment is higher than with the strips but the product last quite a while and they work better. If you don't want to have trays made, you can buy these.
In short I was told I need to brush better - which of course was obvious...
But some tips they told me was to
I’ve browsed the dentistry subreddit and done research on Reddit about teeth whitening products. The general consensus from dentists and employees/students in the dental field seemed to be that Crest white strips are tried and true. I’ve also seen Opalescence being recommended. Some dentists even sell Opalescence themselves.
Your profile comes across as very authentic, which I think is something many struggle to achieve. As a fellow coffee/tea enthusiast myself, I'd like to recommend you look into teeth whitening kits. It could be the lighting, but I'm fairly certain your teeth are quite stained - which isn't a bad thing per say! But it's become a simple, safe, and effective DIY thing (something like this).
Agree with u/MiniMessage. Go for a brighter photo for that first pic, but you're on the right track! A good smile and more upright posture conveys confidence and approachability. I really wouldn't change much else :)
Are you talking about something like this:

or the pens or whatever they sell instead
Yes of course!
I first mentioned the sensitivity of teeth and feeling loose and was told that is normal for the most part. The only time for concern is if the sensitivity lasts for a long time (like throughout the day and if there's any throbbing or any pain). Also I was asked if I drink hot or cold beverages if the sensitivity last for seconds or minutes. If minutes there may be concern there but for me it was seconds.
The dentist told me the dark yellow teeth is caused by bacteria that grow there due to poor brushing habits, mainly along the gums. She recommended I get an electric toothbrush with a circular head since that targets the gums better than a straight head.
Unfortunately I forgot to mention the mouth feeling gross aspect since I was focused on the unexpected cleaning I received due to having tartar buildup even though I had a cleaning 4 months ago. I am going back to the dentist in February for a cleaning and I hope I'll remember to mention the gross mouth feeling this time around. As I'm typing this I just brushed my teeth yet my mouth still feels gross...
I know in your post you didn't mention about teeth whitening but I talked to me dentist about that and there may be different options for each dentist. I went with the cheapest option - Opalescence. I was told you should notice a difference after using it once. I haven't tried it yet myself but it should last 4-6 months depending on the foods you eat.
I feel like my long post really doesn't explain too much with the issues we're having so I'm sorry about that since at the end of the day I was really just told that I need to brush better which I already know so I was hoping for a more detailed explanation on what happened and how to resolve the issues.
Cocofloss has been the best floss I’ve ever used and really worth the extra $$ in my opinion. I find their website has better flavors than Amazon. And for someone with sensitive teeth, I also really like Opalescence Go for whitening and will sometimes get the 35% gel from my dentist to put in my retainers. She said any in office whitening is actually really gimmicky and this way I can maintain once every 2-4 weeks.

Does this look legit? It may be worth the extra $30 but I'm not sure.
My dentist recommended Opalescence. Here’s a link: Opalescence Go - Prefilled Teeth Whitening Trays - 15% Hydrogen Peroxide - Mint https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ER5NN3K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8BAGCZPJ1RZHSJCH6EWN

Get this and look no further.
Your teeth aren't yellow, it's just that because of the ridiculously skewed standards that we now have, you think they're yellow. Rather than the weak Crest White strips, use something stronger that will work much better. Good luck.
