Nowhere near $100??
I just picked this one.
Someone is offering to buy me a watch for Christmas, they haven't put a limit on the price but i want it to be under $250.
I currently have 4 watches, all pretty cheap. A Stührling, Timex, Casio, and Bering.
I have pretty much exclusively looking at Seiko and Orient because I have seem them raved about on this sub at this price.
The Orient Esteem watches look very interesting and more stylish that what I currently have.
I was also looking at these
As for the Seikos, I really enjoy the look of the day window on this And the others that I quite like are
Quick edit: I forgot I had this Rodina page bookmarked!
I know this is a really long post with a lot of different watches, but I just want to get something reliable and not similar to what I currently have (to a degree). Thanks ahead of time!
Maybe the Orient Esteem.
Ok cool. I'd advise not to go full skeleton because in the price range you quoted you won't be getting a piece that will last.
this is an open heart design similar to the bulova
I like how the blue hands make this piece pop
classic-styled simple tissot
I know you said you don't want a Seiko so I didn't link any. I would really advise you to consider them. I understand and have experienced first-hand the aversion to seiko that our generation has, but if you speak to anyone older or anyone that knows much about watches they'll hold it in higher esteem. Plus who cares what people who don't know much about watches think about your watch?
If you went the seiko route just search "seiko 5." They have so many affordable automatic pieces in your price range
Hey man have you seen the Rodina which is pretty popular on this subreddit. It's a really nice looking watch which can be dressed up and dressed down to be casual depending on the strap. It looks classy and has a decent automatic movement. To the common people, they would not know that it's not a real watch brand. It's actually a replica or look-alike to the Nomos Tangente.
I have this watch myself and love it. It'll cost you about $120 and the website is legit. I got my watch in a little over a week (I am in NY).
Now, if you're looking to impress people who know watches, then this would not be the watch to get. I would recommend Seiko's which is an awesome brand and you should be able to find a watch you like for your budget. Orient also has some nice watches for your budget that could be considered classy in my opinion such as the Bambino (which you mentioned) along with the Esteem.
There are a lot of options out there so I suggest you delve into this subreddit and take a look at the wrist check threads which pop up weekly, I believe. I just found out about this subreddit a few weeks ago and haven't gotten off since! Enjoy!
