I was gearing up to by this Orient Esteem, but this past week Amazon apparently decided to jack the price up by $35. Does anyone know where I could get this watch at around $130 or less? I really don't want to go over my budget on this if I can avoid it.
awesome! I got the white one, FDB08005W as one of my very first watches (i started collecting this week). Its technically my second, and the first is on my wrist. The orient comes tomorrow. I'm pumped. That rose gold on black looks awesome.
edit, as a side note, I ordered it 2 days ago...the price on amazon says 182, but when I ordered it, it was about $45 cheaper than that. do they really respond to demand that quickly?
Recently I've been looking for a white face with blue hands. Really love the colors, the only one I've really found in the amount I want to pay is this Orient Esteem. The open heart is a bonus, but not necessary. Before I just pull the trigger on this watch, my question is are there any other white face blue hand watches in the sub $250 range that I should looking at?
How about an Orient Esteem for an open heart?
For some reason I'm struggling to come up with recommendations for white face chronos in that price range, especially in automatic. There's some pretty decent quartz ones though. Fossil has a bunch of white face chronos under $150 like the Grant.
I'm not a huge fan of skeleton watches to be honest but if I was to get one I would look at something open heart style like this Orient Esteem.
Yeah I was looking at this one
However, the size was a concern. I'll check your suggestions when I'm with her because I'm in class at the moment but thanks!
After watching this lovely piece of propaganda, I'm looking to pick up my first mechanical watch. I'm currently leaning toward an Orient Esteem. I like the Arabic numerals, open heart, and the blue hands on the white face.
Is there any reason I should avoid an Orient Esteem? If so, are there any similar looking mechanical options out there?
Orient Esteem. I was going to suggest the Moderno, then saw this which as elements of your IWC. Good luck with your search.
What is the difference (besides name) on the Rodina and Sea-Gull:
I'm looking for a white dial / blue hands combo. Automatic or hand wind. I know at a low price point accuracy wont be my friend. I can spend ~$250 or so on my first watch.
The Orient's look ok but just don't look as simple:
Edit: Junkers Bauhaus?
I'm totally into sub $200 watches. I have 4 watches. 3 $50 that I got on kickstarter (mnmlst company. I kinda' regret the purchase, but since I got the three for $130...it's not that bad to have taken the chance) and a weekender. Love my weekender. I'm pretty into the Nato strap thing, too.
Here's 3 watches from my wishlist that I am currently gushing over. Note that they are silver and white faced but probably come in gold/black/rosegold too.
Orient Men's Esteem
Sea-Gull M172 I don't know much about this company, but I like a lot of what I see from them. Skeleton designs are cool.

Orient Men's FDB08005W "Esteem" Stainless Steel Watch with Brown Leather Band [link]
The watch color I want is here on amazon
,but the price is nearly the same, doesn't come with another watch, and may not even be authentic
Decided to jump on this [link] will update when it arrives :)
It does look a little flashy. if you want something similar, but more simple I would recommend this:
Ray Ban - Square Clubmasters
Gitman Brother's Vintage - Chiquita SS Shirt
Outlier - Green 3 ways
Oakstreet Bootmakers - Natural Beefroll Penny Loafer
Orient -Esteem Open Heart Dial
And I would just wear that all summer.
