Hmm. Normally I like Timex, but that looks like it's trying to be a chrono, and a diver, but then offers a leather strap, which shouldn't get wet.
How about this:
It's a well made watch from a well-respected company.
The blue color in particular is really nice.
Slightly over your range, but this should last for years.
Same, i really want to order it, getting it from amazon just want to confirm between the two, also [link] affordable. That's where I'm getting it from, urm..... its original right lol, it's my first watch
I was just asking because it's listed as 20mm from Orient on Amazon, and I bought a spare strap accordingly (luckily it was a cheap silicone strap and not a $90 metal one).
You can pick up this automatic dive watch and it'll fit most outfits. Can be dressed up thanks to the Bond films making dive watches "dressy", and sporty enough to be worn with casual things.
Probably the most versatile fashion accessory for men.
What are people's opinions on the Orient Men's 'Mako II'. Thinking about it, was wondering if anyone had one and could tell me about them generally, also about their bracelet, what is its quality? Thank you.
Thank you, I was looking at this one since it's a bit cheaper:
For sale today is an Orient Mako II with an upgraded double domed sapphire crystal with blue anti-reflective treatment.
The watch is in great condition and hasn't been worn too many times. I bought this brand new on Amazon in 2017 and never wore it much since then. I discarded the box at one point.
It comes on a blue NATO strap that goes really well with the watch. It will also come with the original stainless steel bracelet currently sized for ~ 7.0 inch wrist and one additional link.
$120 shipped to CONUS via PayPal F&F

So you aren’t necessarily looking for a dress watch then.
You might want to consider something a little sportier; a dive watch perhaps: Orient Men's 'Mako II' Japanese Automatic Stainless Steel Diving Watch, Color:Silver-Toned (Model: FAA02002D9) [link]
Or maybe a chronograph: Seiko Men's SSB031 Chronograph Watch [link]
Or perhaps an altimeter/barometer/compass digital field watch: Casio Men's PRW-3500-1CR Atomic Resin Digital Watch [link]
That watch is absolutely fine for everyday use. The chrono dresses it down a little bit for casual wear.
If you are looking for something different, I think the Timex Navi Harbor is a fantastic watch for everyday wear. I have one, and I love knowing I can always pick it up and it will look stylish with any casual outfit I choose. Plus, you can use the bezel to keep track of another time zone, which I dig as someone who leaves on the East Coast with family on the West Coast. I guess the one I linked is out of stock right now, but they also make it in PVD Black and Blue, both of which would be similarly versatile.
If you want an automatic watch, I can also vouch for the Orient Mako II. It also looks stylish with almost anything on the right strap and features a great movement with hacking, the option of hand-winding, and good accuracy. It takes a bit more care and attention to deal with an automatic, but the people around here seem to think it's worth it.
The Orient Mako and Ray are good choices. You might also consider the Bulova Accutron II watches. If you're looking for something a bit more fancy-looking, the Orient President - a Rolex Datejust homage.
[Mod] So I really want a Mako II with the seconds hand from the Ray II, the bezel from a SKX007K and enclosed with sapphire glass.
Where do I begin? What's a good watch modding form to buy/trade parts from?
I haven't looked at the sizes of the cases to see if I could potentially drop the movement from the Mako II into the case of an SKX007 after swapping the seconds hand from the Ray II.
I wish the SK007 hacked and had a lume pip on the indicator instead of the counter weight. Like the SKX013 does.
The SNZH55 would be perfect with a hacking movement and a bezel with more graduations.
Edit: I guess at the end of the day "saving" up for a Prospex SRPB51 would probably be easier and probably cost less in the long run but I still prefer the hour/minute hands from the Mako, and the seconds hand from the Ray.
Edit 2: This photoshopped watch is basically my "perfect" dive watch except with this bezel I just didn't want to do more photoshopping than necessary and the SEIKO SAMURAI bezel insert already lined up with the other watches.
I found this one
But in my opinion it isn't very casual.
I know this is probably heresy here but I just want to buy one watch and wear it for everything for the next decade. Is the blue orient mako II good for uni, work, formal, parties, etc? [link]
