If you want to bridge the gap a little bit, there’s a pair of drop bar ends that you can put on the bike. But honestly those will just make you want the real thing and you’ll buy a drop bar bike.

I still have mine even though I sold the hardtail I used them on. Recommend wrapping with bar tape. They did make riding the bike for longer rides much better.
There’s really only a couple of good options for getting a drop bar bike when you have a hybrid.
I did number 2. Then I did number 1 less than a year later.
It is possible: https://www.amazon.com/Origin8-33617-Drop-Ends/dp/B0013G6PB8
I wouldn't want bars like that though. Not only is it a weird hack, you have no access to the brake (or shift) levers from the drops. Using the drops is common when going fast, which is exactly when you need to be ready to brake. So I think it's unsafe.
What exactly is uncomfortable about your flat bars? Do you wear cycling gloves?
Ah okay, I don't think there is a sort of bar that has drops bars with this and combines these two, since the hoods would be in the way. You can however get bar ends to create your own drop I guess. Like this one.
So here's what I would do. Slide in your controls and grips to where you think they would be comfy. Ride it without touching the part of the bars you think you won't use. Cut the bars there if you're satisfied. If you really want drop bars for some reason, stick these on there after you chop the bars. https://www.amazon.com/Origin8-33617-Drop-Ends/dp/B0013G6PB8:
You could try these out before buying a new bike:https://www.amazon.com/Origin8-33617-Drop-Ends/dp/B0013G6PB8/
There is nothing wrong with buying a road specific bike, It will make quite a big different in geometry and weight. However, for commuting, thinner tires are a lot less comfortable, I switched from 25mm to 32mm to now 52mm. Never going back for commuting.
ive asked this question before, basicly best answer was bar end drops. like these: https://smile.amazon.com/Origin8-33617-Drop-Ends/dp/B0013G6PB8?sa-no-redirect=1
as far as fit, if your legs are long enough that you can pedal a size larger fine then you may be able to get away with just changing the stem, which isn't too expensive or difficult.
a shorter steeper stem will get the bars closer to you and higher which will focus less of your weight on your hands.
Just got a new bike, first bike since I was a kid, Specialized Sirrus Elite, my question is since my bike has flat handle bars what is a good option to increase riding positions? I saw these on amazon and was thinking about trying it out. Also some people I have seen put breaks on these extensions. Any advice would help. Thanks !
The correct answer is an 800mil wide flat bar with drop bard ends.

To what end? If you just want drops for drops sake, you can get a bar end like this https://www.amazon.com/Origin8-33617-Drop-Ends/dp/B0013G6PB8
If you want actual drop bars, you'll need drop bar brakes as the tubing diameter isn't the same and there's no way you're getting a flat bar brake lever onto a normal drop bar. Also if you switch to actual drop bars and you have MTB style long pull brakes, you'll need specific long pull brake levers for drop bars.
I had these in my mountain bike (old trek 820). They did the job.
I have risers, love rapid fire shifters, but like the feel of drops at times and thought about these
Or you can try these clamp on drop bars Origin8 Drop Ends https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013G6PB8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_MFH5CbJ121487
I have a set of these: https://www.amazon.com/Origin8-33617-Drop-Ends/dp/B0013G6PB8 that I would like to get rid of.
Try these first and see if they scratch your drop bar itch https://www.amazon.com/Origin8-33617-Drop-Ends/dp/B0013G6PB8
See what I wrote above. It's just impractical to convert. If you want to have the hand positions, buy a bar ends and be done with it.
One example -

How about this one? But the brakes will still be on the straight handlebar.
Awesome! Thanks. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to drop $1200 for another bike. I don't mind if my Cannondale isn't optimal; I'm a glutton for punishment and comfort is overrated anyways.
What do you think about these bar ends? They have good reviews, but I'm a bit new to the game and could be easily bamboozled.
I'd pimp the handlebars with drop bar ends and comfy foam grips all over.
