I commented earlier in the thread but I'm a strong proponent of Soylent as well.
I suggest trying both the powder and the liquid. Powder is much cheaper($1.83 powder vs $2.63 liquid per 400kcal), but that won't do you much good if it just sits in your pantry because you don't want to clean the container to mix up a new batch and wait for it to sit.
If you end up going liquid, it's now available on Amazon Launchpad - https://www.amazon.com/Soylent-Ready-Drink-Food-Bottles/dp/B01EUEIL3E?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0
If you set up a subscription for either the powder or the liquid on soylent.com, you get 5% off. If you subscribe to the liquid on amazon, it's 5% off, but if you subscribe to 5 items on amazon it goes up to 15% off.
I know this looks like a shill post, but I really have no association with soylent other than finding their product to be a real benefit to me. With that said, check out /r/soylent as well, because one thing that really makes me love Soylent is they really don't care about people making DIY copies or even competing with them, so there are a lot of soylent clones out there and if you're not in america some of those other ones will be easier to get. A lot of the clones have more flavor options which I'd love to try, but if you are in america, most of the clones are much more expensive to ship here.
You can of course flavor soylent yourself however you want as its very neutral, both powder and liquid. With the liquid I like to squirt in some chocolate syrup and just shake it in the bottle. With the powder, flavored protein powder works well if you know what you're doing (e.g you arent depending on the bottle being 400kcals /trying to use it to track your intake closely), and blending the powder with some fresh fruit is a good way to go. Though I most often just drink it as is, it's not bad, it's just not good, it's just..what you need.
I drink soylent bottles from Amazon and the only deficiencies I had last blood test were Vitamin D ( from sunlight? ) and it was winter.
Each bottle is 20% daily requirements . And 400 calories and taste like a mixture of left over Cheerio milk and pancake batter. (Not sweet, but neutral enough and can be mixed with stuff). It’s like almond milk consistency or a tiny thicker, not too thick.
Go here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EUEIL3E/
Click the Subscribe Now button, fill out all the info then "confirm subscription", this adds one box on the interval you selected. Hit back a few times to get back to the product page and repeat at least 4 more times to get 5 subscriptions into your queue and it'll take off the 15%. Then just wait for your ship date to roll around.
You can add more, skip a few, skip entire months, whatever you want and as long as you have 5 at a time on a single month you'll get 15%.
Amazon store card will get you an addition 5% off in a statement credit.
As quinn said you can add each BOX as a subscription item. Here are some directions I wrote on another thread for someone that was having issues:

You were probably looking at listings from unauthorized resellers, which is a common mistake because Amazon does fuck-all to clarify if you're looking at the real listing or not.
You're better off bookmarking the correct page since Amazon makes it so difficult to find: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EUEIL3E/
Any other 2.0 listing you might find is an unauthorized reseller, and at the current time any listing for any Soylent product other than 2.0 is also unauthorized. They did have bars officially listed for a while, and I think they're working on Coffiest. Also, if the page doesn't say "Amazon Launchpad", you're definitely in the wrong place.
The base Amazon price and the base website price are always identical. The Soylent website offers a 5% discount for subscriptions; Amazon offers a base 5% discount for subscriptions but it rises to 15% if you have 5 or more Subscribe & Save items shipped to you in your monthly shipment. You can do this with 5 boxes of 2.0, but you have to do 5 individual subscriptions; it won't count if you do 1 subscription with a quantity of 5.
You can get the same 15% discount on the Soylent website with the 5% subscription discount + 10% coupon discount; there are permanent 10% coupon codes and occasional larger coupon codes, but they only apply to the first shipment of the subscription so you have to constantly cancel and re-subscribe. Amazon is a lot simpler, plus a lot of people have credit cards that give cash back on Amazon purchases.
Also since you are a new subscriber, if you want to get a 15% discount check out the Subscribe and Save option from Amazon. Ordering at least 5 boxes will get you 15% off and you can always change your qty (minimum 5 at a time for 15%), cancel or push off months at-will.

Is the official sold and shipped by Amazon that is also available for Subscribe and Save, it's currently unavailable but does that now and again, has never messed with my monthly shipment though.
That's not a problem, if you are planning to stop by, I'm happy to share. As long as we're in town at the same time and you can come downtown. (It's difficult for me to leave work when I'm busy)
If you end up not coming to SD, you can buy it on Amazon. Be sure to click around. There are a few flavors. It's a shame the variety pack is no longer sold by Amazon. The mark-up by the third party seller is ridiculous. It used to be 4 flavors for $5, and they give you a $5 credit if you decide to buy more.
Just wondering: Has anyone tried Soylent, the 'meal replacement'? I never lost my sense of taste or smell when I had Covid-19 for the month and a half that I had it, but I'm wondering if something like this would be good since it provides a days worth of nutrients and vitamins (5 bottles per day).
I drink Soylent Bottles
Tastes kinda like the after milk from Cheerios sorta but bland. I mix mine with chocolate syrup sometimes.
I think smoothies in general might be a good option also but my blender sucks so I don’t do that yet.
When I am trying to gain weight I use a nutrient shake called Soylent. It has 400 kcal per bottle and all an appropriate amount of all essential nutrients per calorie. I usually drink 2 bottles per day to add extra calories to my diet. However, in your situation you could add as many as you need. You can usually get 12-packs delivered with next day delivery on Amazon if you have a Prime account: https://www.amazon.com/Soylent-Replacement-Drink-Original-Bottles/dp/B01EUEIL3E
Also, they have flavored versions, but I honestly think the original flavor is the best for general use. Maybe cocoa flavored one on rare occasions. Nectar flavor is awful.
I have started drinking Soylent for breakfast, one or two for lunch and then eating a healthy dinner. Soylent has everything I need nutrition-wise, is quick and easy and is portable (in pre-mixed form anyway).
As far as fruit, I have two of the small sugar free cups of fruit that come in the little plastic cups. I don't have the time or energy for fresh fruit. I add a couple drops of liquid sucralose (Splenda) and it's a great, sweet snack before bed.
Check out Soylent. Its designed to completely replace food if you want or need it to. It has all the nutrients and vitamins an average person needs, with 400 calories in a bottle. Buying a 12 pack from amazon works out to less than $3 per bottle, and a 2000 calorie diet will put you at 5 bottles per day, for a grand total of less than$15 per day.
The taste is pretty bland (lots of people describe it as the milk left over after eating cheerios), but works great as a base for smoothies. Personally, I use Mio "water enhancers" to flavor it, and those work great too.
Neither Soylent nor Mio require refrigeration. But I will say that Soylent tastes a lot better cold, so maybe pour it into a glass with ice or save up for a mini fridge if using your parents' isn't an option.
If you go to the page for officially sold soylent on Amazon, it is "Shipped from and sold by Amazon.com"
This means that you can use Prime for shipping in two days, and you can also buy one or two day shipping without a Prime subscription. I ordered through Amazon, with Prime two day shipping, when I had my wisdom teeth out and it arrived about 36 hours later. (Sorry that this comment is so strongly worded, I wanted it to stand out among people saying it won't be faster. Also probably no one will deliver on Sunday but you could get it tomorrow with one day if you really need it.)
A quick 30 second explanation of what Soylent is:
Most people start with food and then decide which foods one should eat. Soylent started the other way- their founder made a list of all the substances an adult human body needs to operate, and put that in a shake. The result is a drink that's nutritionally complete- that means 2000 calories of Soylent contains everything your body needs to be healthy, including carbs, lipids, protein, micronutrients, etc etc.
What you've got is Soylent 2.0- the latest version of Soylent that comes in pre-mixed bottles. Each bottle has 400 calories, so it's about the same as a single meal. Most people seem to like the taste- I drink the stuff every day and couldn't be happier.
The way most people seem to use them is to replace meals of necessity- meals where you have no particular reason to eat (not going to a special restaurant, not meeting friends, etc) but are still hungry. This is how I use Soylent- if I'm craving some food or another I go eat that food, but if I'm just generically hungry and have nothing else going on, I grab a Soylent. This is both cheaper than most food options and better nutritionally.
Hopefully you like it! If you like it you can order more from Soylent's website or it's also an Amazon Subscribe & Save product. It's about $3/bottle, which (compared to a fast food or deli meal) is pretty competitive.
I hear you on that. College for me was a binge on McD's and poorly cooked, high carb dinners.
I use the ready-to-drink bottles because of the convenience of not having to prepare a single thing. So I'll be counting with reference to that. (Though FYI, in the long run, it can be considerably more expensive than the powder.)
Consider the fact that Soylent has 400 cal.
On an all-soylent day, with a caloric deficit, I'll have 4 bottles and drink 1-2L of water. If I have decent snack or munch on something else 300-500 cal, I'll have 3 Soylents. I see the number '2000' a lot when I hear about what's necessary to eat. 1600cal isn't a number I calculated. I read that it's not an unsafe level to eat at. I definitely recommend you do a little research on your own if you're uneasy about it.
Most days I don't have all Soylent, though. I'll have the 2 at work, and then honestly, I've caught myself at McD's after the gym, lol. One McDouble isn't packed with micronutrients, but it does have a close macro-ratio to Soylent; it's more carb-y, though. Sticking to Soylent makes me feel like I have more self-control, for sure.
When I buy Soylent, I do it on Amazon. Doing the subscription thing gets you 15% off (you just have to add each box separately to reach the five item minimum) and I'll get 5 boxes every month.
X boxes/month = (2 bottles/workday) * (23 workdays/month) * (1 box/12 bottles) = 3.8 boxes/month at work. Round up, plus another for home.
My lifestyle isn't perfect. I'm still just above 190. I did drop two inches on my waist, though. Eating at a deficit on a 100% Soylent diet can be a little bit much to get used to. It's easy to transition over the course of a month if you start with breakfast and move up a meal. Don't try to drink 1200cal in one sitting, or you'll feel like shit. And don't rule out eating at strange times! My full day looks like 10am, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm. Learning discipline and only eating when you're hungry is a huge thing to conquer that you might not realize.
Lastly, you might've heard of 'skinny fat'. You can be an ideal weight, but without some sort of minimal working out, you're not going to have much of a shape. You might think you look great as hell at 205. Whenever you're comfortable, it might be beneficial to look into lifting and understanding what cutting/bulking cycles are.
>I dont think they believed me when I said I get almost everything non-food related through Amazon.
You can fix that: https://www.amazon.com/Soylent-Ready-Drink-Food-Bottles/dp/B01EUEIL3E
I doubt you're missing anything. The eBay dude probably buys the patches straight from the SpaceX store, and sells them on eBay for a nice markup.
We see the same thing in /r/soylent. Soylent is a meal in a bottle shake that sells direct from the manufacturer (or from Amazon) for about $34 per case of 12 bottles. People still resell it for $22 for 3 bottles. Note that on that second link, the product isn't sold by Amazon, it's sold by a 3rd party. The 3rd party just orders the first link, splits the 12-bottle case up into 4x 3-bottle packs, and sells the 3-packs individually, making $54 for each case they split and resell.
I have no idea why anyone would buy 3 bottles for $22 when you can buy 12 bottles for $34, but apparently some people do.
It's on amazon. Prime shipping and it's there in 48 hours

I legit only stopped drinking Soylent because I’m 50 now, and I have to take active steps to keep up my testosterone. It’s just not healthy to let it free fall at my age.
If you’re already young and healthy (or frankly young and female), don’t have concerns about potential loss of testosterone, or are brave enough to not worry about conflicting reports, go for it!
Soylent rocks!
