Hey man thanks for remembering! I appreciate your advice.
So GOTO is something to consider when upgrading from my first setup. Got it. For beginners, it's best to go for something a little bit more complicated to learn, correct?
I've looked around in Amazon, but I couldn't find anything on 8" Doby. Could you give me a full name or link it for me, please? I'm going to be in the US next week and I will order it there and then fly back with it to home. Is that something you see any problems with (if properly packaged of course)?
How about the 32mm 2" widefield? Is this it?
When you say Kit eyepieces, I'm assuming that means the ones that came with the scope? Only one of the two he gave me, the 10mm plossl, he said were kit pieces, the other was a 25mm kellner.
In your previous comment, were those eyepieces you linked gold-line? Is that a brand or a type? Because I can't really find much when I google "gold-line eyepiece." And from what I've gathered on what you and some others have said, the gold-lines provided a pretty wide field of view for their focal length correct?
As for the Q70 is that the Orion Q70? I found this link on Amazon. Is that what you're talking about?
There's just so many different types and some many people making so many suggestions, it's hard to process it all :P
Edit: Also, being in Canada, it's hard to find some of the stuff people are mentioning here.
Glad I could help :-) Unless you'll buy the one from Kijiji, the 8" dobsonian will be a good choice.
Do note that you should consider one or two decent eyepieces, as shown on this image; 1 2 3 4 739 pi x/0
You could also check for a used 10", it's not much longer; Might influence your choice of eyepieces though.
And "Turn left at Orion" <- The missing manual :-)
Also, the topic of collimation needs to be addressed; Do not get a cheap laser, they can make things worse. What you need and what you don't. Collimation cap or cheshire for under $20 will do :-)
Clear skies!
After doing more research I narrowed it to these 3, for a moon filter, planetary viewing and wide-angle viewing to spend around $180. I am open to outside amazon if you know anywhere that has these. Here they are:
32mm Eyepiece 2" wide-angle
15mm - consider buying at Corvus optics; At Amazon: Astromania ~€50, Orion Expanse ~€70
Skywatcher's full tube 8" is out of stock at Amazon. The Flextube's in stock.
The choice of eyepieces is a bit limited at Amazon. In general it makes more sense to buy a telescope at a astronomy store. Depending on what coupons you have, you might just get the accessories there, and buy the telescope at Telescopes.com for example. The better accessories of the z8 will save you a bit of money, too, as you don't have to purchase a 2" wide angle overview eyepiece and the moon filter.
Cheap collimation tools
Keep in mind the cheap lasers often have issues; Link to collimation tools again

Filters
Random, budget moon filter, variable polarizing filter - (2" filters cost more but you usually observe the moon at higher magnifications and don't swap all the time anyway). Budget-budget: Sun-glasses.
Sky Glow filters: Limited effect. Driving out helps a lot more. IMHO not required
Nebula filters: You get what you pay for. Great to enhance the contrast for certain nebula types, but optional; OIII, UHC Filters for example.
