Bortle Class 4 is really good! Although from your place you might see some horizon glow to the North and South (Brighton and London).
Unfortunately, astrophotography needs way different gear and it's a whole different concept (tracking, long exposures, etc).
You will surely be able to take a photo of the moon!
The XT8 Orion was the scope I was originally going to get before spending more and getting a 10inch dob. If you're comfortable with it, get the XT8. It's a really good choice and it's the "sweet spot" for price/quality in my opinion.
You might want to get a 9mm eyepiece (like this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Orion-8921-Expanse-Telescope-Eyepiece/dp/B0000XMXY8/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=9mm+eyepiece&qid=1598386351&s=electronics&sr=1-3)and not get the kit instead (for 34 pounds less), but a red torch will come in handy while dark adapting.
