Oh shit sands serif! Dude I think I was your pool captain for ultimate on friday, it was F1 right?! Thank you so much man I'd hug you if i could. The case is this one.
How does the Amazon Vault case compare to the Orzly Carry Case Compatible With Nintendo Switch - BLACK Protective Hard Portable Travel Carry Case Shell Pouch for Nintendo Switch Console & Accessories https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAUKS62/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Oe4rBbR6CFHK8
It’s the Orzly Nintendo switch case from amazon. I cut out the middle insert and modified the padding that came with the Core packaging. I used super glue to fix the foam to the bottom of the case. case on Amazon

I bought this one back when the original Switch came out. It also fits my new OLED model as well.

Amazon has a ton that are really good.

This is the one that I bought. It’s a really good case, but has a weird smell to it!
Is there a zipper inside as well? The product picture shows a zipper for keeping pieces in a mesh area, but the review photos don't show a zipper.
I have a very similar case without the zipper, and honestly stuff falls out of the mesh area all of the time. It doesn't help the carrying handle is effectively on the bottom of the case, so everything will fall out if you use it. Just my two cents. A zipper in mine would have alleviated that issue. Otherwise the design is great.
I almost did until I realized I didn't actually like the design. I just liked the idea that it was marketed as a set with the limited-edition Switch (which I am getting) and was branded Nintendo™.
For the same cost, I'm getting a more functional case and a glass screen protector off Amazon. The top-seller on Amazon is only $14 while being far more functional and protective. I really doubt the soft Aloha case is going to hold up over time in my bag while commuting.
I bought this case because it held exactly what I needed although I don't use cartridges. I also like a case that doesn't look like a video game case. Mostly because when I travel I don't want to scream hey steal this.

I realize it won't hold a Pro Controller but I usually packed that in my bag or in my checked suitcase.
Does anyone have a link to a very small switch game cartridge holder? I want to ideally find one that can fit inside of switch case where you usually throw you accessories. Heres a link to my case for reference
Hi, I am currently using this case and it works fine: https://www.amazon.ca/Orzly-Carry-Compatible-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01NAUKS62/ref=sr_1_1?crid=131M2W827J9VY&keywords=orzly+switch&qid=1560778136&s=gateway&sprefix=orzly%2Caps%2C199&sr=8-1
This one holds the Switch with two joycons attached, and the pictures show an additional 2 pairs (4 joycons in total) can be held.
There is a good variety to choose from, my suggestion would be for you to decide what are you looking for, and going from there.
At first, I personally just needed a carrying case, so I went with Orzly's basic one because of the price. After, I switched to Skull & Co's, because the one I had couldn't hold my Switch with the grip.
Formatting tip I find helpful, if you put a title like Orzly Carrying Case in [] and the the link in () immediately following it, it hyperlinks the title and hides the big long address like this: Orzly Carrying Case
Owners of Skull & Co gripset: I am planning on getting one, however, I haven't made up my mind on getting it with the Carry Case, as I already own the Orzly case.
My question is, would the GripCase fit in the case I already own?
Does anybody have an Orzly carrying case for their Switch? If so, is it good and do you recommend it?
I just ordered this one. It's only $12.69 and it has 4.5 stars with 2400+ ratings on Amazon.
I’ve had my switch a couple years, and this is the set up that works best for my wife and me: (Many of these same suggestions others have made.)
1) Pro Controller (one per player.) They run about $50 or so, but are SO worth it!!! (Try to avoid the “off brand”, if you can.) The Nintendo Pro Controller is a solid controller that makes the Switch feel like one of the “bigger” consoles.
2) Tempered glass screen protector. When you’re playing in handheld mode, (and you will...a lot), this little piece of glass/plastic can make the difference between a great gaming experience, and a cracked/scratched screen. You can normally pick up a pack of 3 online for about $15
3) Small carrying case. This is the case I use and I LOVE it!!! It’s lightweight, durable, has a holder for 8 game cartridges as well as a pocket for a few small accessories. It costs between $15-$25, depending on sales. (You can also pick up a larger “travel size” case, if you plan to pack up the Switch and take it over to a friends house. Those run about $50-$75)
4) An extra dock, if you plan to play in more than one room. CAUTION: Do NOT buy “off-brand” docks. Some have been known to cause major problems with the Switch. Go Nintendo brand only. You can often find them for about $20. (We have two. One in our living room, and one in the bedroom)
5) Micro SD card. I would recommend 256gb - 512gb, if you can shell out the money. Otherwise, a 128gb should suffice for a while. (I’m a bit of a “Game Geek”. I’ve purchased about 80 games for the Switch, mostly downloaded, and most fit on the 256 card.) You’ll need a little less space if you buy cartridges, but even then, the games often require you to download things. It’s best to “go big” here (if you can) rather than worry about it later.
Finally:
Games!!!!
I’m not sure what games you guys are into, but here are just a few of my absolute favorites, of varying genres, and in no particular order. (Feel free to ask me for reviews on any of these. Like I said. I’m an old Game Geek, and love talking about them as much as playing. )
1) Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2) Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 3) Dragon’s Dogma 4) Jurassic World: Evolution 5) Mario Party 6) Super Mario Odyssey 7) Mario Kart 8 8) Assassins Creed: The Rebel Collection 9) Borderlands 10) Resident Evil (0, 1, 4, 5, 6, Revelations 1 and 2) 11) Call of Jaurez: Gunslinger
Just to name a few.
As you can see, Switch not only has lots of great accessories you can buy to make your gaming sessions more enjoyable, and to protect your Switch, but there are a TON of great titles out there!
I personally avoid “skins”. I’ve always been against placing any type of adhesive material to my devices. It’s simply a personal preference for me.
Also, to the question of “offline play”: For the most part, you can play every single game “offline”, even away from your house, etc. (All of the games I mentioned, for instance) CAN be played offline.)
There a few exceptions: If you purchase Nintendo Online, you’ll have access to old school NES as well as SNES games. These can ONLY be played while online.
I hope this helps. I’m excited for you both! You’re going to have a lot of fun!!
Welcome to the club! And Happy Gaming!!!
Yes, I can confirm that the Orzly case fits upto THREE SETS of extra joycons in the top pocket. (so four pairs total, if you count the two attached to your switch. The same guy I posted about that showed off the case has posted photos of it literally doing this....
https://forums.macrumors.com/attachments/all-my-joycons-fit-jpg.704906/
Also, one other trick that I've found if you can't get them delivered to where you live is to try all the different amazons. (that's what I did). Sometimes takes just a bit of trial and error to see which ones will ship to you.
I've posted links to all the ones I've found for it on their main reddit thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/63831v/if_youre_still_looking_for_a_case_grab_orzlys/ but in order to save you time having to sift through the whole thread, I'll post just the links to all the amazons I found them on for you here...
France: www.amazon.fr/dp/B01NAUKS62
Germany: www.amazon.de/dp/B01NAUKS62
Spain: www.amazon.es/dp/B01NAUKS62
Italy: www.amazon.it/dp/B01NAUKS62
UK: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01NAUKS62
USA: www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAUKS62
Canada: www.amazon.ca/dp/B01NAUKS62
(some will, some won't, so just try a few and see which ones ship to you) But another tip is to always look for the ones that say "Fulfilled by Amazon" -The version that is from the suppliers themselves will often ship internationally if all else fails, but the Amazon fulfilled deliveries are definitely hands down the quickest if you can get one that will ship to you, so I'd recommend always trying the amazon route first).
hope this helps! ;)
Today I recieved my Orzly Switch case.
It's pretty great, and not that expensive. I bought it in Amazon for 12€ + delivery and taxes (~15€)
Same here, I store it in this pouch that i bought from amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01NAUKS62/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
:D
From what I can see if you want a pouch it seems pretty good but will offer little protection whenever you drop it as the materiel's they use for it is soft but I would get a hardcover case like this Orzly Carrying Case or this Amazon Basics case because they are protective cases.
There are tons of cases out there about this size:
https://www.amazon.com/Orzly-Carry-Case-Compatible-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01NAUKS62
I think something like this would work, but I've not tried it.
Any case that fits the normal switch will fit the OLED switch as long as it's not one of those form fitting hard shell cases. I've had one of these for the last 4 years and it's fine: https://www.amazon.com/Orzly-Carry-Case-Compatible-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01NAUKS62
Oh! Lol my bad. Maybe you could try one of the Switch cases? I feel as though something like this would be able to fit your phone and controller just fine

I have the Orzly Carry Case for Switch and Switch OLED.
It's a perfect and cheap solution for transporting your Volca. In Canada, Amazon has it for CAND 20 and in various colors.
Here's a photo montage of Volca Keys, DC power adapter (e.g. KORG KA350) and a 1/8 audio cable fit in snug and tight.

Any hard case will do as long as you're not sitting on it or abusing it.
This one looks like it can fit some extra accessories, which may be helpful for a trip.
This one is a double decker so you can fit a lot of games.
And this one is slim if you're looking to save space and place only the essentials inside it (Switch with Joycons plus a few games).
Bag: if it arrives on time, Peak Design Daypack. If not, Goruck GR1. Both excellent packs. I ordered the PD pack recently because I wanted more organization for photo jobs, but the GR1 has been my go-to EDC pack for over a year now.
Packing list, roughly from right to left:
Peak Design packing cube (small) with clothes
Patagonia Torrentshell rain shell
Not pictured:
I have this Orzly one, its pretty clean looking and durable. Not that slim though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01NAUKS62/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_K9GQN65HQV04192QFMGY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Idk how old she is so My recommendation is to get here one of those nintendo gift cards that she can use in the shop. That way you don't have to worry if she will like what ever game you get her & she can pick out what interests her the most. May I also recommend a carrying case and a SD card. I will link both if you want to take a look and figure something out. The reason I posted the 400 gig sd is because you want to (even though it's not necessary) future proof for when those downloads start to stack up.
We don't Horse around here.

There's a lot of opinions on the best case so I'll add mine in here too. I use this Ozrly case from Amazon and the nice thing is that it also fits a Switch with their grip on it which I also use.
We own this one and it fits our Nyko brand charger just fine. The block is very large and I believe the cord is quite a few feet long.

Hey! So if you're talking about this one then yeah! The Skull and Co Grip fits perfectly inside with room to spare. :)
I use this Orzly case.
I just bought one!
I have the Orzly case and it's been really great. It's solid enough to travel with and pretty cheap.

Is this a good charging cable set for the Switch?
Seems decently rated - having a separate cable from the bulky one that comes with the Switch would be nice

Also would this be a decent fit for my Backpack? Seems slim enough to fit, anyway....
I personally use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAUKS62/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_YKsmBbY6R0HAR. Nice hard case for its value
Thank you. I was going back and forth between this one and the Orzly case that's the bestseller for a few dollars more:
https://www.amazon.com/Orzly-Carry-Case-Compatible-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01NAUKS62
I just ordered this one today.
Interesting, it's saying A now. Either way there's definitely fake reviews.
https://reviewmeta.com/amazon/B071R5WHX5
This highlights some major red flags. Many reviews being posted all on the same day. Reviewers sharing a common history. Repetitive adjectives like "sturdy". Also apperently the product has had a significant number of deleted reviews and so have many of the reviewers.
That being said, with a case there's not exactly as much to worry about as there is with electronics or things like that. The only thing I'd be particularly worried about is build quality and the zipper (which, if not designed well, on the inside can scratch the Switch and accessories).
In the end it's up to the purchaser, but there's definitely fake reviews there. It's definitely a Chinese knockoff You can get an Orzly for $12 or a Butterfox for $10. If someone's buying something to protect their $300 device and $60 games it's probably worth spending the extra $4 to get a product with a reliable background.
yes sir, the same one in the link but with blue in the back Edit: it also fits in side this case https://www.amazon.com/Orzly-Carry-Case-Compatible-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01NAUKS62 very very nice
I got this one on Amazon a few days ago and so far seems good!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAUKS62/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_hn9sAbECAP0DK
Any recommendations on the Screen protector and carry case? or are they all fairly similar? These are on the best sellers list and you get money off when bought together. Case, Screen Protector
I will be holding off on getting an extra controller for now, don't have any multiplayer games and think we will survive using the Joy Cons for now.
https://www.amazon.com/Orzly-Carry-Case-Compatible-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01NAUKS62
That's the one I use. It's a good case. It's currently about $15 on Amazon.
I ordered this today, currently onsale https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAUKS62/ref=pe_385040_30332210_TE_dp_1
Picking up a switch in the next few days currently have a few accessories picked out.
Any others you’d suggest?
What did you wish you had day one?
Edit: forgot that amazon kicks items off your wishlist when you buy them lol.
I bought this case a few days ago when it went on sale.
I'm happy with my Orzly: https://www.amazon.com/Orzly-Carry-Case-Compatible-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01NAUKS62 But at the time it was $12, not $20, and I've just outgrown its 8 cart slots.
Get a good case for it. I bought this one for weekend trips on the bus to visit my girlfriend:

I have the Orzly case, it fits my Anker PowerCore II 20000 and a cable, but just. This is similar dimensions and build as the Butterfox, so it's hard to say the 26800+ might not fit in either, it's hard to say.

Yeah, I've seen alot of people mention this in the product reviews. While mine didn't take anywhere near that long, I can see that lots of people saying in reviews that they had much longer waits than me. They seem to have a proper Amazon Fulfilled shipping method turned on now (which they didn't have back when I bought mine). So if you live in the USA, I'd recommend skipping the direct from seller shipping option and just ordering from the Amazon Fulfilled option, as Amazon always have a much more sophisticated shipping system than any of the other sellers that send stuff themselves. www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAUKS62
The Amazon option on the above link only seems to ship to USA customers though. So while the non amazon fulfilled option still ships internationally (which is how I did it), I'd recommend not doing that, and using one of the other amazons if you live anywhere else, so that you can get a proper amazon fulfilled option that ships to you.
Even though I don't live in either the UK or USA, the Amazon UK version seems to ship to me, which suggests that their Amazon Fulfilled option has the international shipping setting turned on. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01NAUKS62 (I obviously can't test this out for you for any other countries, but there are lots of amazons, so I'd strongly recommend checking any of the many other ones if ever there's something you want on there that doesn't ship to you through an amazon fulfilled method from the country you first tried.
Here are the other ones I know of if you happen not to get lucky with the first two....
France: www.amazon.fr/dp/B01NAUKS62
Germany: www.amazon.de/dp/B01NAUKS62
Spain: www.amazon.es/dp/B01NAUKS62
Italy: www.amazon.it/dp/B01NAUKS62
UK: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01NAUKS62
USA: www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAUKS62
Canada: www.amazon.ca/dp/B01NAUKS62
(I'm sure there are a bunch more, but you get the idea...)
Also, notice how the links are all the same except for the part in each web address that indicates the country. SO even for other stuff on amazon, a good technique to find it straight away in another country is to just change the bit in the web address to one of the other countries, and the same product you were originally looking at will come up straight away without having to search. (if it happens to be listed in that country, which many of them are).
But try this technique for yourself, and you'll see how useful it is. ;) it's been a lifesaver for me on countless occasions!
Can anyone compare cases? I ordered the Orly case. Would there be any reason to switch to this case?
Definitely does, no problem! (you'd even fit loads more stuff in there aswell). Out of all the ones I've seen, here's what each does and doesn't do...
The Zelda ones I like the look of most, look amazing, and will fit the solid game cartridge cases in, but will not fit much else in except a USB Cable. (so official charger, definitely no way). So main reason to buy one of the Zelda cases (which I did buy aswell) is just for how nice they look, but not really great for carrying anything else practical beside the games (so I definitely won't be using these as the case I carry round with me, but it will look nice on my shelf). https://www.google.gr/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwia38WbnO_SAhUFvhQKHfcNCboQjRwIBw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fgbatemp.net%2Fthreads%2Ffavourite-switch-case-anyone-still-waiting-on...
The Official Hori One is the thinnest, howver it only fits the console in, but not much else at all (so great if you want the slimmest out there, but is the worst out of all of them for being able to bring stuff with you, and won't even fit extra JoyCons, let alone a charger, or anything meaningful that you're likely to need). Not a big fan of this one at all, to be honest. As you can see, it has only a game flap, but no top pocket... https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71cQ3CjAHIL._AC_SL1000_.jpg
The Butterfox one has a zip in the top pocket which I like. As another user pointed out, it can fit a charger in there (but not all). From personal experience with this one, it depends what country's plug shape charger you have. I've not tried it with a USA socket charger, as the two switches in my house, mine came from amazon UK, and my daughter's I ordered from amazon France. But the size of the plug end of UK plug socket charger definitely does not fit! (The one from France does though, as the EU socket is alot thinner, but the UK sockets are much wider, and the sides of it just dig into the screen when you close it, so I can't use it on mine. You should be okay though being as you said you only want to put the cable, but the second set of joycons you might have problems with though, as the butterfox case makes you take the joycons off the console and put them in the top pocket, so those and the cable will fill it up, and you won't quite have enough room for the second set of joycons without really having to cram it, which is really bad for your thumbsticks.) Here is what the buttrrefox on looks like... https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/91ZmwtBUOtL._SL1500_.jpg (shame really, because it's nice looking, just it's worth being aware of its limitations)
The Sub-Sonic one is actually the biggest if you want to carry loads and loads of stuff. It will fit most things including extra joycons, chargers, and even pro-controllers, but it's so massive that it's horrible to carry, as it's like a builder's block (but with no carrying handle or any kind of machanism to bring it anywhere), so you wind up feeling like bob the builder lugging about a brick, and is just way too awkward to ever use in practice. The same guy that someone else on this thread posted a video about, actually did a good video about this one, if you want to see exactly what I mean... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr6TTX3unfA (I really like his videos, as he's showed me what quite a few of the different ones are like in real life, and he's not afraid to diss things that he doesn't like, so you get to find all the good points and weak points of each, and see each one properly up close).
The Orzly one everyone keeps mentioning is acytually my favorite of all the case. Its limitations though is, it on;y fits an EU charger also, (so definitely not a UK one). But you will definitely get plenty of extra joycons in here at the same time as extra cables, and will even have enough room left in the top pocket with all those in to fit other stuff aswell too (like the big blue zelda cartridge holders at the same time as all the other stuff I mentioned), as the top pocket is very roomy, but it is very easy to carry, as it has a built in carry handle. Definitely the case I use the most out of all of them that I've tried so far. (but will let you know if I try any others). Here is what this one looks like... www.amazon.com/Orzly-Carry-Case-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01NAUKS62
Hope this helps.
Does anyone have experiences with this carrying case:
Recommended or not? Its quite cheap and seems to fulfill my needs, but I don't want to buy twice. I mainly want it for transport from A to B, not necessarily to play in it.
EDIT: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B072PW59TZ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&psc=1 this one seems quite nice too, since its even cheaper.
#1 Suggestion, buy your girlfriend her own switch. This will give you 2 more Joycons for 4 player action in Mario Party. Too many great games to share one console.
#2 Buy a pro controller, get one that is a special edition (Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Smash Bros., etc.) as the original has D Pad issues.
#3 Buy Physical copies of games when available, or if you have to buy digital wait for a sale.
#4 Register with my.nintendo.com and start earning gold coins. These gold coins can be used to get discount on digital games.
#5 Xenoblade Chronicles 2 <- A must!
#6 DeadCells if you are a rouge/metrovania lover.
#7 Purchase a carrying case protection
#8 Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is a great game, but you need the Amiibos to get exclusive gear. Get these NFC to get the full experience and save you cash!
There is always more info that can be helpful, but the best advise is to enjoy the system the way you want and not what anyone else says. GLHF!

Does anyone know of a hard, slim case that also fits the AC adapter?
I was looking at the Orzly Carry Case (linked below), but several of the questions/answers say that it does not fit the AC adapter.

Does anyone know of a similar case that does have enough room for the AC adapter without having to cram it in?
Cheapest option for this is to buy more joycons, each purchase can be split into 2 controllers. Pro controllers are better built but more expensive and not splitable
Some games with over 4 players: Smash bros ultimate, towerfall, worms, jackbox games
Mario kart 8 deluxe requires multiple consoles to achieve more than 4 players
My recommendation is Mario kart 8 delux, smash ultimate, and overcooked 2 for best multiplayers. Botw is a single player game but it is must have. It is the best game on the system and prob has the best content to hours ratio within the switch library (not including multiplayer games)
Buy a case and screen protector. The ones I use:

Price of a Pawn, value of a Queen.
