I got an Outland brand. Could not be happier! I use it to tailgate sometimes at festivals! They come in different sizes also... Outland Living Model 823 Portable Propane Fire Pit, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007UMD2L0/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_DBDT9CVW7Y0SH2HQPYCS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It's just a dumb-ass suggestion (since I'm a camper myself)... But because you'll be in colder weather when it tends to rain (and maybe even snow), to just make things super easy, have you ever thought of a double tent cot?
You're off the ground and dry,
You're off the ground and not cold from the ground,
They're super comfortable because they have a little give (being a cot),
You don't need a ground tarp, and
They can be set up and taken down in 1/3 the time of a regular tent.
I bought both the Kamp-rite one, and the cheaper Ozark one. The Ozark one takes only 3 minutes longer to set up than the Kamp-rite one, but for less than half the price. (But the Kamp-rite one is certainly heavier material, but also bulkier and heavier in weight).
As for a fire, I bought an Outland 19" propane fire bowl on Amazon that gives off 58,000 BTU of heat (leg-melting heat). They're fire-ban exempt, and lasts 5 hours on high, 8 hours on low on a 20lb bottle of propane (if you have a vented vehicle that can transport propane safely). You can set it up literally anywhere. I set mine up for picnics during pit-stops at the side of the road. And I use it when camping as well. You can do weiners over it, and heat a pot of water for coffee/washing if you get a grill to go over it, but I wouldn't cook anything over it that can drip (nothing oily like sausage, an no marshmellows, since they can drip and clog the propane holes).
Just a thought since it can be cold in October. Have lots of fun!! :)
