I LOVE this dust pan. The edge is such a thin line of silicone. It gets so much closer to the floor than any plastic I’ve tried.
I have purchased one for my mom, sister and sister in law and they all love it like I do.

You may need:
A mini broom and dustpan for when you drop those Two Big Pizzas on the floor and have to sweep up crumbs and errant pepperoni and you don't want to waste the charge on your dustbuster.
A pack of playing cards for when you feel like procrastinating or brainstorming.
Tupperware.
An insulated lunchbag for when you can't afford meals and must bring 5 sticks of string cheese and a soft banana for the day.
Foil, cling wrap, or some other thing to cover leftover takeout.
A few nice mugs that will make you smile when you drink from them. (Bonus if you get large ones that can double as soup bowls.)
I'm assuming you have towels and bedding, but don't forget towels and correctly sized bedding.
Extra clothes hangers, ideally some with clips on them.
Garbage bags.
Brillo pads or sponges for doing dishes.
A dish drainer for drying dishes.
Dish towels.
Can opener.
Microwave.
Toaster.
OXO's have like a thin rubber edge:

still you just need to make the pile, then sweep in bin, move bin back a few inches, sweep again, repeat.
or just sweep into pile with a regular broom and use a hand vac
