Do you think these wall mounts stick out enough to hold these?
Says 45mm which is about 1.8" from the wall.
This would do the trick I bet. Looking at getting two of these (3 per pack) to mount on the wall behind my desk.
Late answer, but I use these:

They are made of aluminum so no chance of a plastic hook breaking and dropping your cans on the floor. they come with a piece of double sided 3M tape and a pair of screws with drywall anchors, and for 14$ you get three hooks for multiple headsets or places to hang on.
I used to just put my headset on my desk or on top of my tower. they were constantly getting shifted around collecting dust and other gunk on the earpads, or getting knocked off and crash to the floor. I now have a hook above left to my monitor and on the right above my corner lamp and right speaker. Now they are never in my way, never getting dropped, never getting dirty. Couldn't be happier.
Someone posted these a few days ago, which are new to me:
I bought these a while ago, but have yet to use them (although they are largely similar to the ones above):

They appear to have changed the type of mounting tape that used to come with them (which was overkill and completely unremovable) but they're still the same http://www.amazon.com/Lightning-Power-Aluminum-Overhead-Headphone/dp/B00XIXEJWG

They're new on the market just ~2 weeks old with no reviews, but they're working great for me.
The evolution, and also a better look of the room:
