My wife and I switched to disposable locks which hopefully should be able to slip through the barrel hole.
They are meant to be single use and most come with unique serial numbers stamped on the cage. That way you can tell if the lock has been tampered with before it was meant to be opened. Plus I like the added piece of mind of knowing that if I can take off the cage without the key if there’s an emergency.

Padlocks will set of metal detectors at government locations, concert venues, etc. they won’t set off the security sensors in retail shops. Let your kink flag fly! If you’re worried about metal detectors pick up some plastic locks for the CB line. They’re single use and have serial numbers to dissuade tampering.
