No problem! It really is an awesome edition, including a great 15-page introduction to Milton and the text, incredibly helpful footnotes on every page of the poem, and over 200 pages of classic and modern criticism of Paradise Lost in the back of the book. If you do buy it, I hope you enjoy it!
I am currently reading Paradise Lost for a university class. It can be a slog, but I would recommend picking up the Norton Critical Edition, as the criticisms included can be quite illuminating, and in some cases far more entertaining than the text itself.
Try this. This is what I have. The English isn't really simplified, but it's easier to tell who's talking. The grammar's been reworked to fit a modern reading style or something along those lines -- it basically says the same thing, but with added quotations, mild changes in formatting, and context at the bottom of the page so the poem can be understood.
