Commenting again because I found a book that looks really helpful for the parenting/coping side of things that I just purchased, called “Parenting Your Premature Baby and Child” by Deborah Davis!
If it’s totally life changing I’ll be sure to make a post about it in this sub 😊
I highly recommend that you get a copy of the book "Parenting your premature baby and child - the emotional journey."

The cover looks dry, but inside it's mostly first-hand accounts. Warning: many do not end well, or have mixed endings. My husband and I read it cover-to-cover when our son was born at 32+5, and we were grateful to be in a relatively simple situation. But it helps to know that others have gone through the same thing.
Yes, there can be good outcomes with micropreemie births. There also can be bad outcomes. So, you and your husband need to go into this with your eyes wide open if you are considering interventions - as you say, you don't want a lifetime of suffering for your baby. No doctor will ever be able to guarantee a good outcome, so you will be playing the odds.
I hope you keep that baby in for a long time, and that you aren't yourself too uncomfortable. I remember the magnesium drip; it was miserable. The trendelenburg position sounds awful, too. Good luck.
