+1 for flashlights and headlamps with 18650 batterie’s. I have a few and swear by them. Absolutely love them, especially the head lamp version.
A good multi tool wether it be Leatherman or Gerber would be great as well.
HAM radios are a great idea and operate better than FRS/GMRS radios, and in an emergency will still be able to be programmed to operate on FRS/GMRS frequencies as well. HAM radios do require a license to operate - and there is a knowledge test to take. Don’t worry - its pretty easy. I have my tech license and only had to study for a couple of weeks.
