The timings on that RAM are incredibly bad for 3600MHz.
Either grab the cheapest kit with 3600MHz 16-18-18(or 16-19-19) timings.
Alternatively, if you don't mind entering the values yourself you can buy this kit (https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07KXLFDL6?th=1) and set the timings manually to 3600MHz 16-16-16-36 1.35V.
I bought the 4400 cl19 they had before for $10 more bucks and it is bdie. This one. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07KXLFDL6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_t1_5MA1Fb0PNWEPT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I am running it at 3800 cl15-15-15-34. Fully stable / tested.
I believe this is the same ram.! I only wish I found it for cheap in 32gb (16x2) Def a good deal.
It seems to be trying to directly compete with Patriot Viper Steel 4400, which is b-die, and usually $129. It is on sale at Amazon right now for $117 when you clip the coupon.
And I've used that kit for some crazy stuff.
those are the cheapest single rank b-die you can buy, just clock them to max out your infinity fabric then lower the timings
Why do u need 2x16? Some memory workload apps? Just asking cause if not maybe just buy 2x8. In link below uve got 4400 cl19 kit with guaranteed single rank samsung bdies chips(guaranteed by bdie finder).
I didn’t look but since I’m running this in a 4x8 and I know they are b-die and they are in stock at amazon (where I purchased mine). Not the config you wanted but something to start with.
https://www.amazon.ca/Patriot-Viper-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6
Best would be a Samsung b die kit. Dual rank is preferred but any b die kit should near max performance. Warzone still prefers highly tuned ram over anything else for hitting high frame rates.
Here is the best budget b die: PVS416G440C9K https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KXLFDL6/
I haven't seen those. Can you link it?
If you're refering to the ones from yesterday ( https://www.amazon.com/Viper-Steel-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=DDR4-4400&qid=1652331982&sr=8-3&th=1 ), they are priced at $123 now for DDR4-4400 CAS 19. So not a better deal, even if they perform a few percent better, that's a pretty significant price hike.
that or this? and why?
How to check it? I tested the system in Aida64, CinebenchR20 + 23 and 3DMark, I didn’t notice any crashes, but maybe I don’t know something.
It turns out that the motherboard configured the timings incorrectly or are they incorrect in the DOCP itself? Here is my RAM:
Bdie is bdie at the end of the day. There are bins and some are better than others but honestly, if you go for the vipers. vipersThey are $110 usd on Amazon for 2x8GB with xmp of 4400 19-19-19-39 1.45v. On Ryzen I would try to get as tight of timings as possible making sure they are stable. Shooting for 3600/3733/3800 c14-14-14-28 ish at 1.5V or lower. If you fabric clock will run 2000MHz then you could go even higher than 3800. Just prioritize 1:1 ram freq to fabric timings. Also if you exceed 1.5V on the ram you need to put a fan on it
This is 100% b-die, and its cheaper.
The kit you linked is most likely b-die, but I'm not 100% certain.
If you want more fps you can either oc a bit ur CPU and most important get a good ram set https://www.amazon.it/dp/B07KXLFDL6/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_BTRSNEVBEWD7RCQGN59S
This is the best that u can get for the buck, 120 for 16(8x2), if u want 32 gb it's 240 bucks. U just gotta enter bios and enable xmp.
Yea that's probably a pretty good indication anyway. That kit is cheaper than most I've considered if this is it?
Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 16GB (2 x 8GB) 4400MHz Performance Memory Kit - PVS416G440C9K https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KXLFDL6/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_MZ853D1M93PE7W9KR1A7
This other guy in the comments linked me a great deal on patriot viper steel so I went with this one.
$115 is real hard to argue with what is basically the best patriot memory out there.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm very likely going with this Patriot kit.
Case is probably going to be a Lian Li Lancool II Mesh.
Why the RTX 3070 suggestion? I had a system with a 3080 already (that I stupidly sold) and it still struggled a bit in titles like Control or Cyberpunk.
Generally you wanna look for memory thats at a 14141432 3200 or 14141434 3600. Those timing are “good” B Die for sure. You can also look for some of the higher speed bins https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KXLFDL6?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
Again if you don’t overclock to begin with it really doesn’t matter.
get this 4400 mhz ram get 2 kits for 4x8
i have this kit and im about to get it runing on cl12 ryzen 7 5800x it will be your best bet as these kits are really good
when the bioses get better you will definatley be able to run higher fclk as right now my cpu is holding the ram back its stable 4000 mhz cl 14
Msi unify if you don't care about rainbows. Best memory ocer out there right now as well. Pair it up with these little thotties and you've got an amazing gaming desktop. They're 150 now but I've seen them as low as 120
Get the patriot steel viper 4400 c19 on amazon. 145 last i checked (might still have an extra 5% coupon discount on it, bringing it down to the 130s.
It is a high bin b-die, you can set it and forget to 3600 c14, can give you timings if you want. If you want more performance, you can tweak it to go to 3733 c14, or 3800c14/16 depending on your luck with memory controllers and the ram itself.
Edit: only downside is it isn't rgb.
The 4400CL19 is also $160 if you want to try your luck with the best binned chips Patriot has. Both kits are guaranteed B-die according to b-die finder.
This is the cheapest Patriot Viper Steel bin that is guaranteed Samsung B-Die, FYI. The 4400CL19 kit is also on sale for 140 (ATL). The 4000CL19 kit should be more than adequate for anyone on Zen 3 trying for 4000/3800 on Zen 3, but I'd just like to mention the 4400CL19 kit as I own a few of them and it is the most ridiculously good B-Die I own, previously ran it in 4x8 3800CL14 on Zen 2 and am waiting for MSI/ASUS to un-bugger their BIOSes so I can try for 4000CL14 or something equally dumb on Zen3.
Memory is pretty weak for overclocking if you plan on tuning your system. What gpu/target framerate are you wanting to achieve?
I'd go for this memory if you plan to do any memory overclocking.
I'd also look for the strix Z490-E/MSI Z490 unify if you can find them.
Yeah. I'm pretty sure it's a B-die kit. I was checking around shit and I also found the 4400 mhz kit on amazon was at 129$, which isn't a deal, but I do have a 10% off coupon, which would put me 116, which is something. But I'll probably skip because I REALLY don't need a 4400 mhz kit, lol.
The 4400 kit is also available on Amazon for a couple dollars more $116.99, 10% off ($129.99-$13.00)Patriot Viper Steel Series DDR4 16GB (2 x 8GB) 4400MHz Performance Memory Kit - PVS416G440C9K You need to be logged in to see discount
These are pretty nice if you got 120$ to spend
Since this is out of stock, here’s a an alternative: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KXLFDL6/ $125 right now, but it has been on sale for $110 or a little less recently. Still cheaper and Samsung B die.
Crucial Ballistix - 16gb 3600 cl16 is about $80, a bit more if you want rainbow puke rgb, and they will clock up to silly speeds.
Other good option is Patriot Viper Steele 4400 cl19 - this stuff is samsung b-die
https://www.amazon.com/Viper-Steel-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6/
I'm just going to say that you're just throwing money away for a tiny increase in performance, but if you want the best...
for Intel: https://www.amazon.com/Viper-Steel-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6
For AMD: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083TSFB5C
Patriot Viper Steel 4400 MHz was on sale two days ago for $114 it's back up to $135 on Amazon and $149 on Newegg.
I have the 4000 MHz kit it's $109 on Amazon not as good as the 4400 kits but does 3600 C 14 with no problem. It will do 3800 C16 easy if your chip can handle a 1900 IF. They were $94 a few days ago.
Buildzoid :
So what CPU do you have?
If you did need 32Gb then, yeah, I'd probably be ok with this kit myself:
Again, I'd, personally, try to get the timings as tight as possible at like 1.4v, but that is work, for sure, and not for the everyone (some voltage scaling show Hynix in the mid tier with this link):
https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4%20OC%20Guide.md#voltage-scaling

Alternatively, here is the Pat. Viper 4400/Cl19 kit for $107 right now.
https://www.amazon.com/Viper-Steel-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6
That kit is 2x8, if you don't actually need 32GB of ram though, and, depending on your processor, will work with very tight timings, flat 16-16-16 at anywhere from 1.45v and up (hardware and bin depending). With my 5800X allowing the full +200 AutoOC (not ideal, necessarily), 3733/CL16 (and the 1:1 FCLK to match), tight timings, no heatsink, 1.49v, I get about ~55ns (actually 54.4ns) in latency which is bonkers excellent for Ryzen 5000, for example.
Again, if you don't actually need 32GB of course as I don't know your needs.
dump the Gskill ram
Get these
https://www.amazon.com/Viper-Steel-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6/
These are Samsung B-die, those are hot garbage.
Gaming + Second montior open.
Would prefer the extra memory for the 4 stick dual rank benifit of ryzen 5-15% preformance.
The debate i have is getting the following
Buying two of these
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07KXLFDL6/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A26PVB3960EU85&psc=1
I want my system futureproofed for 3 years or so.
>there are reviews on Amazon claims they got Hynix
Looking at reviews specifically for this kit that mention Hynix, neither say that it uses Hynix ICs.
>Technically there are other ICs for this XMP speed
I only found two 4400 19-19-19 kits that verifiably use other ICs (Micron), but they have higher tRAS (46/43 vs. 39). From what I've seen, Micron tends to keep their higher-end ICs for their own products, so I'd say the Viper Steel kit is pretty much guaranteed B-die.
https://www.amazon.com.tr/Patriot-Viper-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6
Might be The Cheapest B-Die I have ever seen
Nope it is not. It is either Hynix CJR/DJR
Bought this kit before. Seller claimed it was B-die. You need to loosen timing in order to get it stable at 3800mhz. Doesn't do 3600mhz 14-14-14 either.
Sold it and got this kit instead https://www.amazon.com/Viper-Steel-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6/
Been running it at 4000mhz 16-16-16-32 trfc 275 with 1.45v for a good year now. Can also do 4200mhz 17-17-17-34 trfc 300 with 1.5v. Unfortunately not able to fully utilize the full 4400mhz due to being on older generation cpu.
They have these two other kits with coupon too:

There are two 4000 MHz versions: one with CL19 and the other CL16. It's the CL16 that is better bin.
It’s this kit
Just get this kit.
https://www.amazon.com/Viper-Steel-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6
Really, it's the cheapest b-die out there and I'd recommend it if you want low RAM latency.
The 12600K is a good CPU.
I don't have one personally, but they seem to do at least 5 GHz pretty easily if you have decent cooling. IMO it's the best value-for-money chip that's unlocked (12400F is probably better but it's locked, you can OC it using BCLK but you need some special DDR5 motherboards to do that, but they're quite expensive and DDR5 is expensive).
As for RAM - you can get pretty cheap b-die, which is nice, if you want 16GB in total I'd recommend this kit, if you want 32GB in total I'd get this kit as it seems to be the cheapest b-die kit out there that has a total capacity of 32GB. For a total build, this would be my recommendation.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07KXLFDL6
It's $40 more but used to be $30 a few weeks ago with a -$10 coupon.
This one is $30 more (but lower binned Samsung B-die than the 4400 MHz version): https://www.amazon.ca/Patriot-Viper-4133MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXBRR24
Just so we are clear make sure you are getting the right RAM kit. Patriot sells 2 versions of the 4400 DDR4 kit that is deceptive.
This is the B-Die 4400CL19 kit Notice the 4400 CL19-19-19-39 v1.45 Specs

>this
umm, neither of the kits you linked are b-die 16-gb kit of guaranteed b-die
if you want 32 gigs just by 2 of that kit and it will work wonders.
This is a good price for B-die ram, right?
I've got a Ryzen 5600x with a 3080 and I'm just hoping to OC to 3600 @ 14 14 14 28 as per one of the reviewers that did a bunch of testing with this set.
I’ll most likely go with these:

I just put together my 5900x build and need help with ram timings.
My ram is Viper Steel 4400mhz rated
With XMP profile settings its running at 4400 19-19-19-39-2
I was looking to go 3600 or 3733 with tighter timings.
I poked around google and youtube without finding any indepth guides in 25 minutes.
The build I upgraded from was an i5-2500k, so I'm really leery after exploring the bios.
Any good resources you guys can share with me?

Patriot 4400cl19 kit is great https://www.amazon.com/Viper-Steel-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6
I have the Patriot Viper Steel 4400cl19 and run it at 3600cl14 with some tuning. You could easily get these and run them at 3200cl14 without much effort.
https://www.amazon.com/Viper-Steel-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6
So this one is one of the best choice ? https://www.amazon.it/dp/B07KXLFDL6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_kPB.Fb3F5ECVT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I will be trying 4 sticks of this 4400 b-die RAM. $210 for 4 sticks - 32GB.
These 32GB DJR 2x16GB 3600 sticks are my usual fallback as I have been able to get them to consistently do 3800 at stock timings on my x570 board w/ 3900x. There's also a B-Die version but those are 3600 and $250 a pair.
The 4400s are down to $139 too:

I think I want these... i hate non-controllable RGB sticks
Is it this one? https://www.amazon.com/Viper-Steel-4400MHz-Performance-Memory/dp/B07KXLFDL6
Then CL15-15-15-36 is for base clock at 2133MHz. At 4400MHz OC with XMP 2.0, it’s 19-19-19-39. (See feature and details in link)

They don't make 16gb sticks in that high on the model I have - which kind of sucks cause they sell dirt cheap. Was actually on sale the other day for 4000- $95. 4400-$110
I am a gamer[emulation too] though so I care more about speeds/latency then having 32gb though.
Imo, with price tags as good as they are though - I would buy above what you need. Either you need it eventually or don't so you downclock it for better latency. You still sell it when it should still cover most the difference.
Patriot Viper Steel Series DDR4 is also pretty solid. This RAM does what it says, but you have to hope your motherboard and CPU play nice with it. If not, you gotta tweak as best you can. If you don't have a great IMC on your CPU, you may only be able to run it at 4200 MHz.
How about these that I just bought? Will be using them with the x570 Tomahawk and the 5950x.
