The official(?) case is good. It has a Mario themed design. It has fabric slots to hold 14 games. Holds a Switch with Joycon attached and it has a pouch for accessories, would definitely fit your 2 extra Joycon. $15 on Amazon.
I'm getting this one from amazon it holds the switch itself on top of 14 games so I can bring them anywhere easily
I use this for all my Switch accessories on the go, it's is designed for the whole switch console but I have a nicer case to put my Switch in, and just bring this case as well when I'm going somewhere that will need more joycons:

I just prefer soft cases, idk why but its just a preference. The semi-hard ones that are somewhat flexible are ok too, but they are usually more expensive or bulkier. Also I found one that's cheap, soft, and can hold 14 game cases. https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Travel-Console-Games/dp/B01MS7AI9G
Also soft cases are more flexible and in my case (no pun intended) I need flexible bc the room in my backpack isn't very roomy.
I've had mine since launch with no screen protector (I don't like the way they look or feel) and have no scratches. Just be careful putting it into/out of the dock and only take it with you in a carrying case made for it. I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MS7AI9G/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
Personally I use this one from PDP.
It's bare bones and simple and gets the job done. I'm assuming since you said it's for commuting and not longer travel that you aren't bringing a bunch of extra bits and bobs with you.
Oops, sorry! I thought the link would be helpful in that you could see some options and be able to choose the right one for you. I personally purchased this case and I'm very happy w/ it. It was really well priced for the quality and it looks really slick. It's soft, but it does well to protect the switch. I dropped mine in the case twice now (I'm clumsy :/) but the console remained in perfect condition. It also comes w/ 14 game slots, if you buy physical.
Ha, a couple of us must've ordered from the same production run -- I also received my pouch today, and was going to take some pictures till the OP beat me to it.
Though I already have this PDP case, I impulse ordered Waterfield's Switch pouch as soon as I saw a photo. I know folks gravitate toward the City Slicker from Waterfield, but I prefer something slimmer -- I don't need protection from dropping it on the ground, just a stylish, sturdy case to carry the thing around with.
And that's exactly what this case is. Especially in waxed canvas, it's just a beauty. I hardly adds much size to the Switch, though the pocket gives enough room for two extra Joy-Con, straps, cables, games or what have you. Really impressed by the little touches, like the fur-like main compartment lining, and the yellow textured fabric inside the accessories pocket. Granted, this thing is pricey -- in comparison, the PDP case was low-priced and totally serviceable, but feels definitively cheap in person (and doesn't look quite as nice as it does in photos).
Between this and the awesome industrial design of the Switch itself, being a nerd at the airport looks a whole lot slicker than it used to. Really glad that exclusively ugly electronics accessories seem to be a thing of the past.
I replied to someone earlier with a similar reply, but this was my second choice (I ended up with a WaterField case myself)

Not that I can speak of the quality, but the reviews rate well for it and it doesn't look tacky in comparison to some others at least.
Not sure if you found a case to your liking since posing the question, but as I answered to someone else before, this is one I personally like.

Not that I can speak of the quality myself; I ended up purchasing a WaterField case before they went out of stock, but the PDP case linked was my second choice!
Does anyone have the PDP grey case? (T His one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MS7AI9G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
I ordered it but some people say they are having issues with the console fitting in it. Wondering if its worth returning? and if anyone has any cases they recommend that would be helpful aswell. Ty <3
This is one I like:

Depending what I see at Best Buy at midnight here is my final list. Grey Switch, Pro Controller, Charging Grip, Zelda: BOTW, 5 BOTW Amiibos, PDP Case. I already have my 128GB Samsung EVO Select.
I got this one. I like it because it's not too flashy and does exactly what I need it to.
I managed to preorder a Switch console in gray from Best Buy, as well as a copy of Breath of the Wild. I might end up cancelling the BoTW preorder in lieu of going all-digital, though.
Also preordered this PDP carrying case from Amazon. If a preorder for a Pro Controller shows up, I'll snag one of those, too.
I found this one on Amazon US. There's another one that is grey with Nintendo Switch written on it, but it doesn't contain the earbuds, the joy-con rubber covers and the stick grips.
I use this PDP one: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Travel-Console-Games/dp/B01MS7AI9G?th=1
It's actually a Switch case, but it will hold 14 games alongside the console (I only have 6, so it's all good for now).
It works excellent for day to day use and I like the color scheme. And it's cheap
I just went with a super compact case that holds the just switch and some games, then I toss it in my bag. 99.5% of the time the only person playing it will be me.

Have the switch case from pdp love it
I have this one, but I don't really like it. https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case/dp/B01MS7AI9G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492783115&sr=8-1&keywords=pdp+switch+case
A coworker has this one, and I like it quite a bit. https://www.amazon.com/Butterfox-Nintendo-Switch-Cartridge-Holders/dp/B06WVCWY41/ref=sr_1_6?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1492783155&sr=1-6&keywords=switch+case
The Switch case I have has space for like, 14 cartridges. But I'm not a fan of how it is, so I got a separate case for them instead. Which is a first for me, since my DS and 3DS games were in the system case... but I think I prefer separate. I have a habit of opening my 3DS case to fast, and having the cartridges falling out lol
> Look online at a store nintendo DOES NOT sell SD cards. They miiight license some third party ones I suppose but why would they prevent another company from selling SD cards they've verified work with their system?
It is a SD card, chief. There exists no "incompatible". It's just a label to rip off customers who do not have the technical knowledge to realize that any SD card is fuckin the same if the speed class matches, no matter the label you put on. A class 6 SD card is the same, no matter if you pay 30 bucks on top because there is a Nintendo label on it.
>Also dude just because a copper spike aggressively scratching a screen will scratch it doesn't mean a round fucking penny will. It's not a scratch off lottery it's a fucking screen. As the video says plastic is a better choice because it avoids cracking which is way more likely than scratching given the usage.
What did I expect? Of course, a fanboy will react with denial of reality - the tester must have "aggressively tried to scratch it" - subjectivity is to be expected by any opponent of my fanboyism.
A penny is pretty sharp on the edge unless it has seen some decades and it was just an example for an everyday item that can easily scratch the device's screen, because it is so soft. You know, to do the transfer of using exemplary items in a rethorical way is kind of expected in a conversation.
There are a multitude of items that will scratch a 3moh screen in your pocket. Like say a metal pen thrown into your backpack, or keys in your purse. Man even a knob could potentially do this if the angle is right.
> As the video says plastic is a better choice because it avoids cracking which is way more likely than scratching given the usage.
Jerry is making a quick assumption, not a sufficiently profound argument here. The Switch is not really shock resistant considering its built and especially compared to gorilla glass 5+, but I expect you to deny this without me linking another video that would show this. (unless me, you, the fanboy, does not have the obligation to proof your points right? You just need to say "no" and all is right)
Plastic does in no way "avoid" cracking, chief. You live in a very awesome world if that does or you should immediately inform Apple about this insight.
>Oh and there are third party cases along with some very small effective cases from Nintendo I'm not sure what you're going on about with cases.
Why don't you link me those cases? And with case I mean a wrap, not a pouch/bag. Instead, you typically fanboying and simply "mentioning it" without linking further proof.
But, I made the research for you. The smallest bag I found on amazon is this. Though, the argument remains, put in their, that thing is not much more portable than a PS4 slim as both require a bag unless you really walk around with "just" a Swatch in your hands, because this does not fit in your pockets... which would be a very funny picture.
With cases we are more talking something like this - you know something that adds protection without adding a lot of bulge - this does not exist because, as aforementioned the used plastic will melt everything away.
So, again, Nintendo is ripping you off with every little Nintendo sticker they put on anywhere including the switch itself. It is a sub par piece of hardware and we are not talking about the games, just about the Nintendo management responsible for the business decisions and those exude greed.
Ive heard this is pretty good.
I only bought the PDP case but the Anker Power Line + USB Cable is sitting in my amazon basket till I order something again.
^(*corrected link)
it's a bag so I assume there's room for it either way
however, the grips are really small, I think most cases should have spare room for it (even the PDP one)
whoops, thought about the straps, nvm

https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case/dp/B01MS7AI9G?th=1 this one. I got the Mario one. Should be protable enough.
I had a awesome idea for a carrying case and NEED to talk to one of these guys who will listen!
There is a normal version of that one but unfortunately orders made from this point on may not come at launch.
Hard case for system and games
and soft case for games and system
The "official" nintendo case is basically sold out everywhere. whats left are a variety of licensed cases.
Anyone got any insight on this case:https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case/dp/B01MS7AI9G/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1486919413&sr=1-1&keywords=switch+carrying+case
This is the one I'm planning to get
Sweet design, looks thought out.
I'm going for this though, can't agree with leather:
https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case/dp/B01MS7AI9G
I chose this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MS7AI9G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
1) I like the design
2) Fits the Switch with Joy-Cons attached
3) Storage for game cards
Hey guys, 3 quick questions.
1: Are there any issues with the PDP Nintendo Switch Premium Travel Case? The system seems to be placed in a pouch of sorts, which worries me (joystick damage seems inevitable with this). The case can be seen here:
2: What is the best SD card available? I've heard around 100Mbps is where the switch maxes out read wise, but I've also seen things indicating that it doesn't change much load time wise with different read speeds on the card.
3: Is there any real advantage to having cartridges over all digital (besides physical boxes)? Load times seem only marginally smaller from what I've seen, and that was on installed to system memory games.
