I have a 2016 SE and I went with just changing the lamps instead of the entire headlight unit. LED on Amazon.
The passenger side took 3 minutes to install the driver's however took longer. It's a really tight fit, so tiny hands are better. Maybe try wearing latex gloves for a better grip... German engineering everything is tighter than a man's ass. Don't get me started on the tire pump cord.
I'm super happy with the lights. They look crisp and bright and it was only $100. Zero regrets.
So I have a 2016 SE with the yucky yellow halogen lights. I replaced them with these H7 LED. The passenger side light wasn't a big deal to replace and took about five minutes. the driver side however was much more difficult. There is a fuse box that makes it extremely difficult to maneuver and the hardest part is actually twisting the bulb to seat it in. It's really difficult because the casing is smooth aluminum and your hand can barley fit in. I was lucky that my friend was able as. I really didn't want to take the light off. No tools were required.
I have a 2016 SE, got it in June for $12k with 14k miles. I absolutely detest the cloth seats (they stain from just water), the lack of steering wheel audio controls isn't a huge deal, and no navigation, but you can connect your phone and get Android/Apple play on it. Other than that it's a fantastic, sexy, fun car. Real world I get about 75 miles. I did change the head lights from halogen to LED so the color matches the DRL.
It does have CCS charging which will do a full charge in 30 minutes. I installed an openEVSE charger at home so I get Level 2 charging which takes about 2.5 hours. Level 1 takes 15 hours. I still don't know if I can justify the $3k for the SEL. I think the seat issue and maybe having a little bit of range anxiety since it's a sub 100 mile car are my absolutely only issues with the SE.
If you don't mind using adapters, go off the charts HERE, cheap is fine as long as the beam output is 3 out of 5 stars or higher then you know they were designed decently for reflector housings. This isn't 2014 any more, if you choose carefully, newer LED's have FAR less glare and are completely acceptable to use. I have the Katana's since I got them before my Golf and used adapters when I switched them over.
Now, if you just want ones to match the proprietary twist in power that VW/Audi uses without the hassle of adpaters, then search for "volkswagen h7 led" on Amazon or wherever and those that clearly show the 2 power prongs on the side of the heatsink will twist right in without adapters, and are $60-100. You'll also see the adapters for regular H7 to VW that you need for fitting regular H7's, if interested, with using that same search term on Amazon... I'm a total lighting geek if you have any questions, just LMK!
But if you can afford to just drop $100 and call it good for good low beams, just get the Lasfit that don't need adapters, like HERE and be done with it, hehe.

I got these off amazon for my mk7, make sure it’s the same size but I’m pretty sure your low beam is the same size as the mk7.
