They sell training aids that look like a little can of pepper spray but they just make a noise when you press the button. Sounds like air rushing out. I too have a barkey pit mix and have had pretty good success with it. He will bark when I come in the house from the garage and I press it ounce and he stops. I have actually gotten to the point where I can make a similar noise and stops. He doesn’t even like when I pick up the can. I got it on Amazon. Here is the link.
