It’s a Phanteks vertical mount that comes with the riser cable. I love it! it’s a good metal and it includes padding in case there is a gap with your case and the mount! I have a Phanteks case but I’ve seen it works great with other cases
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_U8jdGb58ZKDS7
There's also the Phanteks Vertical GPU Mount, but that's dependent on if the PCI-E area is completely open once you remove the PCI-E brackets. If not, you'll have to mod the case.
The case vertical mount is not good for temps! The universal one is way better. I like to keep everything the same so that’s why I went with 120s all around!
Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 – Universal Vertical GPU Bracket with 220mm Flat Line Pci-E X16 Riser Cable Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_u3EUFbX7GQEWQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I’m not using the case vertical mount I bought a universal one that pulls it closer to the motherboard, the Strix will probably be better temp wise I’m looking forward to trying it!

The best I have seen is the Phanteks GPU mount , because it pulls the gpu further from the window panel for better airflow and much cleaner look. Some users have said they have to remove parts of the rear case brackets to fit.
So it does not come with a vertical GPU mount by default. Lian Li does make a vertical mount, but it has mixed reviews and is pricey.
If you have an o11 Dynamic (regular or XL) case, I’d highly suggest this one made by Phanteks: Phanteks Vertical GPU Mount. It comes with a X16 riser cable and was a very install and had no sag, at least with my card. I also notice no difference in GPU performance while gaming, same frame rates as before when it was horizontally installed.
Oh man, that's perfect. I didn't think of putting the 1x PCIe card into the x16 slot. I knew they were compatible I just didn't think of it. Thanks a ton!
I've used Phanteks in both H510 and H710 cases.
It can be mounted directly, but that can make cabling on the backside of the GPU a bit messy. But with a small modification it fits perfectly. If you are interested I can throw some pics from my H710 case when I get home.
For me the phanteks riser cable worked fine. I used it on a triple slot card and didn't have any sag. https://www.amazon.nl/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universele-GPU-beugel-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=asc_df_B07MW73HTJ/?tag=nlshogostdsp-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=430548059715&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=632411417904941267&hvpone=&hvptwo=&a...
Im using this Phanteks one. Had to switch out riser cable to 4.0 though

>Holy shit it comes with five fans lmao. Yea stick with the corsair, it comes with 2 and i can guarantee it has better build quality, and probably better airflow too. 2 intake fans is all you need, whether you end up with a 120 or 240 AIO.
Yeah this will be a hard decision. I trust Corsair but my current case is from Antec. Man I really like it.
>Make your stretch goal getting one of these: https://www.amazon.ca/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/
I actually already looked into this and was disappointed that vertical mounting bracket is a lot more than $35.

Spray paint it a white that you can best match to the case, and have your KO sitting vertical. It'll match that way.
When I went vertical mount I used this bracket/cable combo and have had zero issues with it.
Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 – Universal Vertical GPU Bracket with 220mm Flat Line Pci-E X16 Riser Cable Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_DD5QD85Z5WD8ZTAQH2P9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I don't own the case so hopefully someone can confirm but judging by the pictures there's no bars between the pci slots on the back so the phanteks vertical mount would probably be the best option personally used it in a build its very stable and is a flat mount to the back of the case instead of pushing the card back.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_B2YPKCHK7V01VTW0VH1Z
I wouldn't use the Lian Li mount, as it takes up the bottom fan positions on the case (so you won't be able to mount fans underneath the GPU).
The Phanteks Vertical GPU mount seems popular and allows for the GPU to be mounted higher so that fans can populate all the mount positions on the bottom of the case.
I actually sit around 68° when gaming with it Vertical which is the exact same and when it was normal. Some cases have built in vertical mount that force the card close to the glass, I purchased an aftermarket mount the puts the gpu fairly fair away from the glass.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_i_M5NFPMV7STE2SX0ZCBVW
Get the Phanteks one. It’s better than the lian li one imo. The lian li mount puts it too close to the mobo.

Keep in mind that’s a gen 3.0 cable so you can get another gen 4.0 cable if you really wanted to but it’s not needed.
This option will take the stress of the motherboard and apply it to the cases actual frame.
You can get a riser cable and an adaptor to mount the gpu off the board.
it's this phanteks one but as you can see it's sagging a bit at the end. It's been through a lot of GPUs in just 2 months though. I tried to bend the metal back so it' doesn't sag but it seems to just droop back anyways.
Edit: I didn't update the photo but i moved the mount up one slot so it's no longer sitting on the fans, so you might not see the sag right now because i haven't updated the photos in the album.

I have the pcie 3.0 one. Not much of a real difference in terms of performance for using a 4.0 one. Plus they are like $ 60-90 just for the riser on amazon.
You would have to remove that bottom fan but you could mount your card vertically. I am using a Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 – Universal Vertical GPU Bracket to vertically mount my 5800XT. The bracket comes with the PCIe extension cable. The only thing is that you have to set the PCIe slot to x3 instead of x4 because the cable is not x4 (they don't make them yet). I discovered this through trial and error and the advice of a few friends
I hate to be that guy, but if you're really wanting to make it work I'd install a PCI riser in there.
They have lots of vertical mount adapters(for example) available. This particular case is the Thermaltake View 51, it's a humongous case though.
Make sure you get a PCI Express 4.0 riser.

If there’s a less slot support let me know but this is what is fitting so far with a 90 degree fitting.
Something like the ones I linked in the post. Like this one.
I was thinking of getting something like this, and mounting it to the bottom, hopefully with a radiator under it. I might need some standoffs so that I could fit a displayport cable. Phanteks said that the case will be back in stock in November, so hopefully by then ill also have a 2080 and the waterblock. I'm really hoping things fit, but if not I guess I'll put it on the back
Yes u can as that case has 1 dedicated part for vertical so u would just need to get something like this will allow u to put a second vertical one in.
Just search "GPU vertical mount" on Amazon. Something like this. You sacrifice 7 or so slots to make room for 2 slots positioned vertically. I think it also means you have to give up PCI-E 4.0 but, as far as I know, the speed difference between 3.0 and 4.0 is minimal. Cases that natively support vertical mount tend to put it way up against the side panel, choking the airflow. I'm hoping to get an RTX 3080 that looks good on the fan side because I want to mount it vertically too.
I used this one made by Phanteks, available here on Amazon: Phanteks Vertical GPU Mount
I thought the same thing that the Lian Li one put it too close to the glass, and it was rather pricey with poorer reviews than the Phanteks one. This one fit in perfect.
It’s beautiful. I’m actually pretty jealous because I decided I wanted to go the all-white look a few months after I built it. Can’t justify spending 800 quid just so it looks cooler!
There’s a Phanteks one on Amazon with really good reviews
Ps - I meant vertical mount not horizontal
Phanteks is perfect. I’m doing a build now - 80mm of clearance (on top of the mounting rack) on bottom.
In stock at amazon. $40. I’m showing May 11 arrival date, but that’s COVID-19 delays not stock.

I’ve heard CableMod is great too, but it’s not in stock.
I’m using the Phanteks Vertical Mounting Kit from Amazon with Corsair LL120 fans on top and bottom.
I had to remove a few of the rubber anti-vibration pads on the fans, but the riser sits perfectly flush on the fans.
Absolutely, purchased mine from Amazon so dug up a link.

This vertical mount bracket should work as well looking from the comments. It sticks out farther than the Lian Li vertical bracket so it should clear your cooler
There's a few manufacturers that make kits, but this one seems to be the most widely used universal one. Hope this helps. https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2VXGMXJOGDNFG&dchild=1&keywords=phanteks+vertical+gpu+mount&qid=1597712213&sprefix=phanteks+ver%2Caps%2C220&sr=8-1
I originally had this Phanteks but it sagged a little so I got this Cooler Master which had better support. But I did not pay Amazon’s current price of $79 for it. I think I paid $49.
Edit: I also painted the mount white.
Ya, I couldn't find/get the new Lian Li one so I did some research and it the Phantek https://www.amazon.ca/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ
Haven't had and drooping yet. It has notches where you use the finger screws and as long as I got them nice and tight all was well.
a separate vertical mount kit doesnt really have that problem. most of them are just fine, i'd get this phanteks one https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=vertical+gpu+mount&qid=1622060267&sr=8-10
or this one if you need pcie gen 4. if you dont need it, dont spend the extra https://www.amazon.com/LINKUP-Vertical-Bracket-Graphic-Holder/dp/B091Q95ZXM/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=vertical+gpu+mount&qid=1622060267&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEySjg2UVFMOFdESDI5JmVuY3J5cHRlZEl...
the vast majority of cases that support vertical mounting natively put the card too close to the glass. the one exception i can think of is the SL600M
It doesn't, I had to Dremel off a section in order to raise it up.

Just take a look the pics. It's all self explanatory. Bare in mind that this is for two slot cards. If your card is any fatter it won't fit.
I used the Phanteks one and mounted it by cutting a portion of the corner out with a hacksaw and filing the cut edges smooth with a metal file.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_uLJKFb8M31RBH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It's the Phanteks riser. I may get the Lian-Li 3-slot riser if the 3090 requires it.
I use the Phanteks riser 3.0 cable extension in my O11 dynamic. Works well.
https://www.amazon.ca/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT\_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ
How many GPUs are being installed? You could vertically mount a couple in the upper compartment and a 3rd one below. I don't see why you would need to use the bottom one unless you are running a dual system. This space can also be used for 4 HDD sleds.
This is the kit I would use if you wanted a second GPU up top: https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/
This riser cable would probably be long enough and Amazon has a pretty good return policy if it doesn't work:
https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-CBRS_PR60-High-Speed-Technology-PCI/dp/B07H7MFLHX/
Yeah either way you will need to cut a hole for the GPU I/O. Also I just noticed, the mount is waaayy too expensive and the riser cable they include is also too long and it would be too stiff to bundle up.
Might I suggest buying this mount and either a 10cm or 15cm variant of this cable as a suggestion.
if you have a PCIE 3.0 Interface, go with this : https://www.amazon.ca/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ and set your PCIE Gen manual to Gen3 in the BIOS.
else go with the recommendation from u/Streetsofbleauseant
I bought this one first: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07MW73HTJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And now I'm using the same one as you mate! Amazing riser, works flawlessly! Vertically mounted GPUS are the future.

This is the one I used for my 3080Ti Hybrid with the O11 Dynamic
Hi all, just thought I'd share my (imo) beauty of a build! I've made various mods to it, including:
Cutting off the PCIE slot covers in order to use the following vertical mount: https://www.amazon.ca/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ This allows for the GPU to be vertically mounted into the depth of the case towards the motherboard, which lets the GPU take in a proper amount of airflow.
I made cuts to the front panel, detailed here: (https://imgur.com/a/cLClbBz). I had to make cuts to both the top and bottom plastic casing of the front panel. The SL140 fans are thicker than most fans, so I had to take quite a few trips to the garage to get the cuts right. I used a Dremel to make the cuts.

The Phanteks universal vertical mount will work - here's a build using it.
Other universal mounts like the Cooler Master one should work too.
Pretty sure it's the same one I've got from phanteks. Works on about any case. Highly recommend, made my PC seem much more full...
Well, the actual mounting of it is probably best done with a vertical GPU mount that works for any case. Something like this.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_a_M9CH6TYF438C0TNG69J9
But you’ll need to buy a PCIe 4.0 riser if you go with this one
Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 – Universal... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Used this vertical mount with the Lian Li 4.0 riser cable. Got the cable from Newegg.
The Define C does not have any vertical PCIe slots to mount the GPU.
There are universal vertical mounts you can use. They won’t affect GPU temps as they place the GPU far away from the side panel/glass. There are basically two types, each with pluses and minuses: * Ones like the Phanteks vertical mount don’t take away from GPU length clearance (which is kind of tight in the Define C at 315mm). However, it requires modding the case by cutting the rear PCIe bars on the case. Doesn’t affect usage, but it is modding. * Ones like the Cooler Master universal vertical mount don’t require modding the case - just plug and play - but they take away gpu clearance to be able to plug in display cables; that means gpu length can become an install issue.
Their could be a cable coming from your PSU going into your 1050ti, but research shows not all have this.
https://www.quora.com/Do-you-need-to-manually-attach-power-to-a-GTX-1050-Ti
To mount vertically you can get adapters and I was thinking of doing it but their are no real benefits other than looks.
Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 – Universal Vertical GPU Bracket with 220mm Flat Line Pci-E X16 Riser Cable Kit https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_JKG5VKV7QAJDYY7WAY5B?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It also adds another point of failure and you have to make sure the added cable supports the version of data exchange ( PCIe 2vs 3 vs 4) your mobo and card can use.
How can I tell? This is the mount I got
As for the cable for the gpu, I got this mount - not sure where it specifies what type of cable unless I'm blind.
This is the one I got. Do you maybe know a different one that would work if this one is the reason it's not working?
So I read some reviews that there are a lot of issues with that specific riser cable not working with 30 series cards.
If you go to the questions section on amazon and type in 3070 it will come up.
Yep, I have a 360 rad in the base of my O11D. I used the Phanteks GPU mount to do it.
Just be aware you have to mod the gpu mount slightly by cutting off a small section with a dremel or similar so that you can mount the GPU mount slightly higher in the case which gives you the room for the rad. I certainly had to as I used a normal p360 rad and normal fans. you may not need to with a slimline rad and slimline fans but really a normal rad and fans are a lot more effective.
Also be aware the PCIE riser cable included with the Phanteks mount is gen 3 not gen 4. I had to boot my pc with a different GPU, set my PCIE lanes to gen 3 to get video output but I am on an x570 board with an RTX 3080 so your mileage may vary. It is on my list to replace the cable with a Gen 4 one I just haven't got round to it.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ This works fine for me, just be aware that it is PCI-e 3 not 4 and if you are running an RTX 30 series card you might need to set your PCI-e to version 3 or you will not get any video output. Or you know replace the flex cable with a PCI-e gen 4 capable one.
I have an O11 dynamic as well. I use the Phanteks vertical mount and have space currently for 3 sl 120's.

Comes with PCIe gen 3 cable.
This also works as it’s what I’m using now… I don’t think it comes in white though. It sags ever so slightly though, but a small piece of dense foam fixed that.
Get https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ and mount vertically. I used this to fit my 3090 Strix OC with Aquacool block. I had to dremel out a tiny piece of metal and now it fits perfectly.
Also this vertical mount allows you to fit a 30mm rad like Corsair XR5 in the bottom + standard fans. I have the NF-A12x25 mounted. Can post a picture if needed.

Yep, phanteks. This one specifically:
I come from a audio fabrication background making custom subwoofer enclosures for cars etc. There isn't much to these PC cases what you said is doable with 2 of these universal vertical gpu mounts: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/
I cut the horizontal supports and threaded new holes into my thermaltake core V71 to mount the phantom here: https://i.imgur.com/dwgQ7PL.jpg the zip ties lined it all up while I drilled before finished here: http://imgur.com/gallery/UdFpkuG
It's kind of hard to blame the case not designed to hold 2 vertical GPU especially with the third party ROG mount not meant for this case. You the user need to make that possible the steel is plenty strong to support shelf brackets from behind with rivets to hold it all together.
The Phanteks vertical GPU mount should work. It looks like if you take out the PCI slot covers on that case, it makes a big opening like it does in the O11.
I have the neo cube case and was looking for a vertical mount, which one do you guys use ?
And are these both the same?
Trying to find a cheaper option than Amazon
And
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MW73HTJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I needed to mod it a little as well as upgrade the PCIE cable for PCIE4
https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ is the bracket I used. You’ll have to cut the top right chunk off with a Dremel or a hacksaw but it’s pretty obvious once you have it in front of you.
There’s about 1.5mm of clearance above the fans, and I may need to do something to support the card a bit. Let me know if you have questions, I had to make it work once I saw the card wouldn’t fit in the case lol.
Thank you and https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07MW73HTJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. I had to clip out the horizontal brackets for it to fit display ports.
Phantek version designed to slide into existing horizontal slots: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/
Also have your experimented with having 3 exhaust and 2 intakes? Some cases cool better closer to a negative pressure.
Dunno if you're UK or US.
Uk links, included OC since Amazon UK doesn't have stock:
Amazon US:
Worth remembering that the riser cable that comes with it is generation 3 so you'll either have to buy a 4.0 cable or swap your BIOS to use PCI 3.0 prior to installing it. If you forget you'll get no signal output and be forced to install it directly to make the change.
for my up and coming new build, I bought the Phanteks one looks solid to me ! https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ
Here you go, this fits with no alterations. LINK
I would use either the Phanteks vertical mount or the Cooler Master vertical mount - both allow you to mount fans on the bottom of the case for airflow to the GPU since the Lian Li mount does not (it takes up the space on the bottom of the case where the fans would go).
As for riser, I would just use what comes with the mount. They are PCIe 3.0, but apparently makes no difference in gaming usage (see here). Plus there appear to be few (if any) pcie 4.0 riser cables out on the market yet.
I used this one Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 – Universal... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And spray painted it white
Did you find a solution to this? I'm in the same exact situation with that GPU and heard that it causes sagging. I found a bracket that has a PCI extender: https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=sr_1_18?dchild=1&keywords=GPU+BRACKET+FRACTAL+R5&qid=1613104277&s=electronics&sr=1-18

wondering if it might work? The only answer I found was for the stock Gigabyte 3080 and not this version. Another person said that this specific bracket was not long enough and it can get in the way of slots.

Anyone know what the best bracket might be for this monster of a GPU in a Fractal R5 Case?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_apa_i_TQtaEbWSV2EF1
or is this better
Here is the kit from Amazon.
Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 - Universal... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Phanteks. No mod required. Works fine, no complaints so far.
Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 – Universal... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Personally prefer the phanteks vertical mount

You will also need this = https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=phanteks+gpu+bracket+rgb&qid=1608322608&s=electronics&sr=1-1
I am a real and experienced PC Builder in my area, with my own Lab - PC Store.
I already pushed the choices in performance near limits, the price is a little above 4650 AUS $,even this Motherboard will better assist such fast RAM's kit speed-latency-capacity-voltage,in order to take the biggest possible FPS increase.
Even the GPU is with 3 8-pin supply,to better assisted in a possible OC,of course there are a bit better choices, but the performance gain will be minimal for 200-300$ more,so not worth the attempt,i won more FPS from Motherboard+RAM choice, than 2-3 FPS maximum from better 3080 GPU,all the choices were wisely taken.
I added those addressable RGB fans, according to their addressable RGB ability, their price, their good CFM ability, their good noise level= for top exhaust ,to improve thermals&airflow level.
If you doubt, you may ask other people for any part of these,do not forget the previous link for the GPU bracket = https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/kCw6NP

I use it on my o11d, it should absolutely work with the XL as well
This is your best bet right now:
The O11 Dynamic XL one is almost always out of stock.
https://www.newegg.com/p/1W7-00BS-00001?Item=9SIAFST9WF7340&Tpk=9SIAFST9WF7340
Phanteks mount. With some motherboards you will need to switch from auto to pcie3 in the bios but it has no effect on performance.
If you make or adapt something similar to this and use a riser cable, yes, it would. You'd just block your other slot.
It looks like the 303 has open PCIe brackets on the back of the case, so the Phanteks vertical mount should work just fine.
i did a little research, looks like some versions come without it.
i use this for my wife's PC but it is not super sturdy.(you'll get a bit of sag..
Have you tried emailing TT support?
I bought this one. Works perfect https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Get the phanteks one. I have the same case and it fit perfect. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0cBHFb3JPRQFA
I chose the Phanteks one because it was cheaper and I think it looks better too.
May need a tiny bit of modification but I have your same case and I plan to use this PCIE Riser which will change the card orientation to be mounted vertically. I've never understood why most GPUs are built in a way that the fans blow heat down which in your case (pardon the pun) is fighting the intake air coming up from the fans mounted in at the bottom.
With the card rotated, that sweet intake air will blow through the GPU fins and the GPU fans will blow air at the glass and up instead of down.
Maybe a consideration for you, especially if you don't have any need for other PCI cards.
Yes, I used this mount.
https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ
Is that the Phanteks mount or a different one?
Something like this? Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 – Universal Vertical GPU Bracket with 220mm Flat Line Pci-E X16 Riser Cable Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PYexFbH18RYWC
Clean build man! If i could suggest one thing though, It looks like your gpu will be suffocated by the side panel since your case looks like it has a built in vertical gpu mount. You can buy a vertical gpu mount that fits where the gpu would normally go. It moves the gpu away from the panel some and let's it breath a little more.
Yeah it looks great
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
That's the one I bought. Worked super easy.
i used the Phantek one https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?ie=UTF8&psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
to be honest im not sure I will keep it vertical look - I really liked the back plate of this card so might put it back at some point. it also feels more cluttered this way - heres an image before what do you think? https://imgur.com/a/8SXrpI7
Thanks!! That was the debate going on in my head for a while and in the end I wanted a white case and add my own twist to it. I used the Phanteks mount
This is what I’m using https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 thanks for that link. Will test and report back,
Also did you see any performance difference with 16x?
Depends on your case. There are essentially 2 ways to vertically mount a gpu in a standard ATX case, and which option that works best for you depends on the case.
First option is if the case comes with a provision for a vertical mount - some cases have 2 pcie slots that are are vertical, near the side window panel. In this event, you just have to mount the GPU into those vertical pcie slots, then add a pcie riser cable (and sometimes a mounting kit from the manufacturer).
The second option is to use an aftermarket vertical GPU mount. These aftermarket mounts take the place of the standard pcie slots in a pc (usually 7) and can be split into 2 categories - ones that will likely require modding the case (cutting pcie bars), and ones that won't (but will push the GPU forward). Either category will not affect GPU temps.
The issue I think I'm having is that most mounts have a honeycombed bit where I'd like to also vertical mount the capture card as per https://www.amazon.co.uk/Phanteks-PH-VGPUKT_02-Universal-Vertical-Pci/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=asc_df_B07MW73HTJ/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310773493424&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11941589692961708667&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045370&hvtargid=pla-659524775226&psc=1
Maybe this style would work as there is no honeycomb? Then simply get a riser cable for the capture card?
This is what I used and it worked great: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_us3kFbMB41C50
If you haven't already figured it out, when you put 3 fans at the bottom, you may need this to fit the USB 3.0: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083XDQSWT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share (you only need 1, but this seemed like a good item)
Looks like Phanteks mount.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xBQkFb1CF34Z7
A good case for aesthetics and airflow would be the <strong>Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower Case</strong> but I'm not sure if it supports vert. GPU mounting. Your best bet would be to buy an aftermarket bracket and a PCIE x16 cable extender. Also kinda off topic but are you sure you want to have your very first build with such high end parts? Not that that's a bad thing it's just more of a risk.
Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 – Universal Vertical GPU Bracket with 220mm Flat Line Pci-E X16 Riser Cable Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MW73HTJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9kGjFbCFVD2WX This is a good solution
The h210i has a vertical mount included but if you already have an h210 you can buy an extra vertical mount it has enough space
I used this
It is the Phanteks vertical GPU bracket, you can get it on Amazon here
If you want looks for the kids, then your best bet is to not overclock as the stock 3700x cooler has RGB. You're looking at something like this:

And before anyone asks, for Linux you're stuck with an AMD GPU. Nvidia doesn't play nice.
Your son's very lucky! Here's a "maxed out" RGB build. I use quotations because the RTX 2080 Ti is terrible value, especially if the RTX 3080 is releasing in Aug/Sept, which is probably the best option for you.
The 10700K is a beast of a gaming CPU. It has a boost clock of 5.1 GHz which makes it one of the best gaming CPU's on the market. It has 6 cores and 12 threads as well, making it future proof.
The Hyper 212 RGB is a decent cooler. If you're not overclocking, it'll be sufficient. Most high performance air coolers don't have RGB, so I made the choice to step down the cooling a bit to give some flair to your son. I would highly recommend an AIO water cooler, as they look amazing aesthetically and can give some really great cooling for decent prices.
Intel CPU's don't benefit from high frequency RAM, so I chose a standard kit of 3000 MHz CL16. With RGB, of course.
The SN750 is an excellent drive with high read/write speeds and insane durability. WD is known for their reliability and the SN750 comes with data encryption as well. I also added a 2 TB HDD for media/documents and such.
The RTX 2080 Super is the limit of diminishing returns. It performs comfortably at 1440p and is decent at 4K. To be completely honest, gaming on a 4K monitor is a waste because no current technology is capable of hitting high refresh rates at 4K. But anyways, here are some benchmarks with frame rate estimations. At max settings, you're looking at 50 FPS in Fortnite, the most demanding game you listed. At high settings, you're getting 90 FPS in Fort. I would actually recommend getting a vertical GPU mount to show off the GPU.
I know the case isn't a full tower, but it's one of the best looking. I honestly feel that full towers look empty without watercooling, and the one I had in mind was out of stock - the Lian Li O11 Dynamic. The NZXT H510 Elite is a great case for the front glass panel, clean aesthetic, included RGB strip and two RGB fans, and the "smart hub" in the back for the LED strip and fans. It has excellent cable management and while airflow isn't the best, as you're not overclocking it's not a huge deal. I added two more fans for continuity; you can daisy chain them all and plug them into the controller.
The CPU is power hungry, so I chose an 850W Gold PSU. We're kind of in the middle of a high-end PSU shortage at the moment, so it's probably best to place the order ASAP, or spend $50 more for a price-gouged unit. The unit I chose is fully modular to reduce cable clutter, and the BitFenix Whisper M is one of the best reviewed units out there.
Speaking from experience, the wireless adapter is reliable. You can place the receiver/antenna anywhere for the strongest signal. It supports WiFi 5 and BT 4.0. If you include this, you won't be able to use the vertical GPU mount. You could get a motherboard with onboard WiFi if you want the vertical GPU mount.
Let me know what you think :)
K well you clearly wanna ball with RGB, so you can go with this:
Type | Item | Price |
---|---|---|
CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor | $259.75 @ Vuugo |
CPU Cooler | Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition 57.3 CFM CPU Cooler | $54.50 @ Vuugo |
Motherboard | ASRock B450 Steel Legend ATX AM4 Motherboard | $146.74 @ Vuugo |
Memory | G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory | $129.99 @ Newegg Canada |
Storage | Sabrent Rocket Q 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive | $169.99 @ Amazon Canada |
Video Card | ASRock Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Phantom Gaming D OC Video Card | $548.50 @ Vuugo |
Case | Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower Case | $139.99 @ Amazon Canada |
Power Supply | GAMDIAS KRATOS P1 G 650 W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply | $118.34 @ Vuugo |

And if you really wanna be fancy, pick up one of these to mount your GPU vertically:
In terms of your budget, you can afford a 2070 Super, and maybe even a 2080 Super by playing with some component swap outs, but the 5700 xt performs very similarly to the 2070 Super for a lot less, and the 2080 Super is $1000 and isn't THAT much better than either.
Hope this helps!
I used the Phanteks vertical mounting kit on Amazon.
here is a $32 dollar solution.
Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MW73HTJ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
there is no other cheap way you can mount it.
I recently got one of these if it's what you're looking for:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MW73HTJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Cheers! It's the one from Phanteks https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MW73HTJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
When I tried the cablemod vertical GPU bracket, it set the GPU too close to the motherboard and would not fit because it interfered with the RAM sticks. And if you're trying to use a wifi expansion card I don't see how it would fit with a vertically mounted GPU. Here's the link for the screen https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L6O2NEE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
