I used the Pioneer AVH-4100NEX In-Dash Multimedia DVD Receiver with 7" WVGA Touchscreen Display https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SKJPKGW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ADrFAbA878317 from Amazon and BLACK ABS PLASTIC SHEET CAR INTERIOR to cut to fill the gaps. It’s doesn’t look bad in my opinion.
Other parts used MicroBypass Parking Brake Switch, Metra Electronics 40-NI12 Antenna Cable to Aftermarket Radio Adapter for Select 2007-Up Infiniti/Nissan Vehicles, Metra Axxess ASWC-1 Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface, Metra 70-7552 Radio Wiring Harness For Nissan 2007-Up/Select Subaru 2008-Up
Sorry I am on mobile and the link wouldn’t work. I hope this all helps.
Thanks very much for the help, though I have to admit i didn't fully understand but I'm sure the techs you suggested will know the ins and outs. I think I've found a deck I like, what do you think?
Following up on this with perhaps a stupid question. The 4100 is available on Amazon for $497.21 from what looks like Pioneer itself. Am I correct, and if so do you suppose this would include the warranty they're so stingy with?
Sort of - here's the Canadian offering: http://www.amazon.ca/Pioneer-Flagship-Multimedia-Touchscreen-AVH-4100NEX/dp/B00SKJPKGW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455663721&sr=8-1&keywords=Pioneer+AVH-4100NEX
Over $1000.
Amazon.com generally doesn't ship electronics to Canada.
Loving your setup! I'm trying to install the AVH-4100NEX as shown in this Amazon link:
Can I use the same dash kit and a stereo adaptor (do you have a link for this?) like your setup? I'm a bit of a noob. Oh and I have a 2003 Mustang. Thanks!
Yeah I was looking at the 4100 I just wasnt sure if there were better options. Ive always had Alpine in the past but am not too impressed with the selections they have now.
price drop. best unit you will ever own.
I got the head unit and I replaced the front 6x9's but they are lower wattage, im still looking for an amp/sub/eq. thanks for responding! I had lost hope haha
I ended up getting the AVH-4100NEX head unit, and I got some Rockford Fosgate 6x9's for the front. they are 65w but have no bass, but they sound pretty clear. I was also thinking of putting in some 3.5" speakers in the very front (from my research, they will fit). otherwise, the rest im interested in.
