I have a pair of the Plantronics GameCom 777's, and I absolutely love them. I've messed around with some cheaper models, but these are awesome.
I use: https://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-GameCom-777-Surround-Technology/dp/B001KURYAS (Look at the little adapter on pic) I belive I can pass that and be good?
Thanks for detailed response, I'll be sure to read up on this.

I bought the same model at Best Buy (minus the Dota 2 logo) for I think $54.99 and it came with a copy of Orcs Must Die 2. Got home and played with them for a couple days and took them back. Sound was good, mic was good but they just hurt my ears. The padding was too small and made your ear scrunch up. After about 3 hours of gaming my ear lobes and upper ear cartilage were sore.
I was mad because I like Plantronics and have used there headphones in the past. The one I like most is the GameCom 777. They have about 25% more ear room than the 780.
Preference I guess. If it feels good, go with it. GameComs are the shizznit.
