I’m not sure you’d be able to cultivate most of these on your own (legally), I read Plants of the Gods at university. It was fascinating.

Edit: it doesn’t look like the link I added worked. The book is by Richard Evans Schultes, Albert Hoffman, and Christian Ratsch.

Terrence McKenna spoke about it, as did Schults, Hofman, and Ratsch in Plants of the Gods.

Soma is an entirely different matter, and my guess is that it is Amanita muscaria or possibly cubensis.
