Playseat challenge is a great starter option. https://www.amazon.com/Playseat-RC0002-Challenge/dp/B009ZELZDS/ref=asc_df_B009ZELZDS?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=79852084166603&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=m&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-458...
I started with Thrustmaster T300 RS wheel and pedals just to fart around with in BeamNG.drive. I made deliveries along the Italian coast until F1 2020 went on sale for $15 and I got hooked on that. I used a partially-rolled up yoga mat and some clamps to keep my pedals from moving until another Redditor mentioned the Playseat Challenge: https://www.amazon.com/Playseat-RC0002-Challenge/dp/B009ZELZDS/
I've been pretending I'm an F1 driver ever since. Weeee!
Hi what is your budget?
Normally the best solution if you want something stable but still storable is this one
cheaper than most stands and it still has everything.
I don't know why on Amazon is more than $200, normally it should be even cheaper.
I use the g29 for PS4 and PC. Awesome entry level stuff and perfect for arcade games like forza. If you can budget it, I highly recommend a play seat as well.
I got this one used for $100 and it really makes the whole thing come together.
Yes, I ended up with the Playseat. Glad I bought it, but I also didn't have room for another desk (the one I've got is for work) set up. With this, you can fold it up and put it in the corner when not using, which can be a bit annoying to do every time, but it's a relatively minor headache that I'm glad to live with.
Just a recommendation, not selling but I picked myself up a playseat challenge a month ago for a dedicated seat to race, they are ~150 atm, and a great foldaway alternative to a stand.
A stand is cool but honestly you don't need to buy it right away in my opinion. It's definitely more comfortable but a desk and office chair setup will give you a decent experience.
I'd say clamp it to your desk and try out some games. Wait and see how much you like the hobby, and if you find yourself playing for a long period of time. If you do then wait a pay check or 2 and buy a full rig.
I personally don't have the space for one so I've been learning the basics just fine with an office chair and desk setup for a few months now. However I've had my eyes on this one for a while now but money has been a bit tight for me. It folds up so it's easy to store but it definitely doesn't look as comfortable as the real ones.
Playseat Challenge Black | Popular foldable budget racing chair | Set up in several seconds| Unique foldable design| Seat is very compact, stable and adjustable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009ZELZDS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_ZS.QFbR7BE49P?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Dam. Then I stand by my original statement years ago. These are best for people who can commit the space and money to racing seats with mounts like this. Rerouting cables made it such a chore that I just never wanted to use it.
I see! Thank you, I will research a bit!
What do you think of this chair? It's the cheapest I found on Amazon Japan.
Again, really thank you!
Link to amazon.
Dont think you can find something more foldable.
Easy to fold with wheel and pedals attached and store it under bed or closet.
I really want the playseat challenge. The only thing is that it doesn't have a place for the H pattern shifter. I think I could make something that could attach to the side of it.

Ah man, not good to let the election suck your soul. I feel badly for those who had some mental health issues related to the election process (major anxiety and loss of sleep, etc). I don't blame you for not racing that often with that setup. I spent like 4 years staring at my 500 dollar wheel because the setup was so shitty.
So, you know I just got this then I bought assetto corsa because microsoft had a deal with AC and all car packs for like 16 bucks. Score. Well.... After reading forums for wheel settings. I discovered These. And I'm so fucking excited because they're load cell. Everyone says it's the biggest upgrade you can do (more than a nicer wheel or seat even) and the difference is literally night and day. I get them on wed! Your setup is going to be dope though. I'd be dancing like a little girl lol
Also /r/simracing is interesting sometimes.
It’s the playseat challenge. got mine off Amazon, and it just went on sale ($34 USD off)
>chassis for the cheap with a used seat for probably under $200. Otherwise buying one online will probably run closer to $500.
I roll with the playseat challenge and T300 RS Wheel. The challenge is real comfortable and it folds up when you're not using it
They make these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009ZELZDS/
Or you can go more simplistic and get just the stand: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FEN66B4/
This could be a nice setup…

I also use this seat!
I'm 6 2 and love mine. I do wish the wheel wasn't so close I feel like it kills my shoulders off I'm on there too much.
Yep, a Thrustmaster T300 RS.
I later treated myself to this bad boy: https://www.amazon.com/Playseat-RC0002-Challenge/dp/B009ZELZDS

I use this - cheap, comfortable, and folds away easy. Perfect for the amateur if you ask me!
Depends on what affordable is, but here are the first two that come to mind...
$215 (but would require a 3rd party shifter mount, which I’ve seen sold on eBay): Playseat Challenge Black | Popular foldable budget racing chair | Set up in several seconds| Unique foldable design| Seat is very compact, stable and adjustable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009ZELZDS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AV4DDHK28ZW4073J4B4E
$300 (same idea, but includes a little more including a shifter mount): Next Level Racing F-GT Lite Formula and GT Foldable Simulator Cockpit - Not Machine Specific https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083JW5YKM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_K0D19NWE2SB39K9EAPH4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

If you're going to get serious into sim racing, I'd say your budget is better spent on the infrastructure: chassis, seat and screen. At a minimum get a Playseat Challenge or an Ebay Cockpit. A large TV or a monitor that's mounted close to your FOV will help.
For wheels/pedals, based on your remaining budget, you could get into entry level Fanatec gear (pedals are separate starting at $100) for a total of about $700. Or save your money and get a Logitech G29. The G29 is good enough to get competitive but the Fanatec stuff is heads and shoulders in above the G29 in terms of feel if you can afford it.
I don't know how good the sim scene is on Xbox. On PC, iRacing is king for sim racing, and you'll want a mid-level PC for that (which would double your cost). If you're just starting out, I would say try the G29/Playseat or Fanatec/Playseat Combo as you can generally offload those pretty easily if you decide you're not into sim racing. The Fanatec stuff holds their value well but it's a much higher initial cost; even the entry level wheelset is super high quality.
This is the one: Playseat Challenge Foldable
And I plan to post a photo when I have everything set up.
Yeah, that's what I'm seeing too. It'd be nice to get a Reddit thread of people who would help watch out for deals.
This is the chair I also want to get:
Good price, foldable, good reviews.
Playseat challenge for sure.
Just got mine, I love it. Xbox 1 x, thrustmaster tx (same as the t300)
That price point puts you right about at a Playseat Challenge.
There aren't any fold-able seats that fit all of your preferences, but I would recommend the Playseat Challenge, since it fits your budget, has a sturdy seat, and is relatively small compared to other rigs. Here's a link https://www.amazon.com/Playseat-RC0002-Challenge/dp/B009ZELZDS?ref_=bl_dp_s_web_2598658011
These are pretty great. You can fold it up and store it away if you want and it's reasonably sturdy and comfortable if you're not super huge. (Like I'm 6'1 200lbs and it fits me fine.)
Bro it makes the games so much more fun. I'm on GT Sport a lot. Check around for deals on the wheels. I got my G29 for $199 from best buy. Cheapest I found and came with the free shifter.
Next up is this https://www.amazon.com/Playseat-Challenge-playstation-4/dp/B009ZELZDS

There's actually some pros from around the world that post there when they're not driving the real thing.
THis seat gets really good reviews:
The Omega Pro is definitely a quality wheel stand. For the money though, I'd recommend the Playseat Challenge. Having a bucket seat in that folds away in seconds in amazing. I upgraded from my trusty homemade rig a month or so back and am in love with the thing. You will have to rig up your own shifter attachment if you want one but that's fairly simple.
You definitely need a good stand/mount for your wheel, the $150 mark is around average for stand. I would recommend the Playseat Challenge though. It's around the same price, comfortable, and good quality. If you want, I did a full review of it here. I wouldn't really recommend anything cheaper because it's mostly crap.
