I use the Sony Gold headset with my Switch, and it works great. While a headphone jack would be nice, I hope you realize that it's still possible to use wireless headphones with the Switch. You don't have to play with low or no volume!
Might not be exactly what you want to hear, but I think you could greatly improve your experience by upgrading your headset. I have the Sony Playstation Gold headset which you can get on amazon for 70 bucks and I personally love it. I have been using it since I first got my PS4 years ago back when it was 100 dollars and I am still thrilled with it. The surround sound is really incredible and you can tell where everything is coming from. Works great if you are into playing multiplayer shooters as well, being able to hear enemy players can give you a huge competitive advantage you didnt even know you were missing out on.
Are you looking for headphones with a mic for online gaming or just headphones for solo gaming?
I think the Sony Golds are the favorites generally for price/value.
Playing at 3am while drowsy and not communicating will definitely affect the quality of your matches!

I've had quite the opposite experience with the Gold's. But I'm not sure which ones you're talking about. The current model or this older model. I have this older discontinued one and I've had them since like 2013 and they just only recently broke on me. They still work surprisingly, audio is unbothered. But I have broken both sides of the ear cups and cracked the band in the middle. One of the cups is hanging from a cable lol but yet they still work flawlessly as far as audio goes.
This wasn't my original question. I have an official compatible PS4 headset that works just fine with my PS4.

Take a look at this Playstation headset, has a wireless USB adapter that works for the Switch as of a recent update, and it also comes with a cord to use it with a standard headphone jack.

I got it on a holiday sale for cheap but it's fucking great. can use it for anything. good battery life. decent range. I HIGHLY recommend it. Also fits comfy.
I doubt there is anything on that price range good enough for this sub taste. Wireless will for sure cause a sensible drop in audio quality. I wouldn't recommend you wireless.
And yes, you can hear the difference between an affordable (100ish $) high quality headphones, and "normal" headphones. Perhaps not between 100 and 1000$, but you can have amazingly good headphones (which audio quality you will notice for sure) if you are willing to go wired.
But, if you insist, take a look at Sony Wireless for PS4. Wireless with wired option (via USB transmitter), over the ear, more or less comfortable (don't expect wonders), two colors (black and white)... Sound is MEH, but you can't expect much more for this price bracket if you go wireless.
If you're looking for a good and cheap wireless headset, go with the Playstation Gold Wireless Headset (which is black unlike the name suggests). It lasts a while on a charge, the sound is fantastic as well as the mic built in, and super comfortable. It's about the best $60 headset you could possibly find. As for speakers, always go Logitech if you're sitting at a desk.

It works great but the biggest problem is getting other people to listen to callouts or speak back. I've heard this is much better on PC which is one reason why I plan on playing there eventually.
But yes, sound plays a HUGE part of the game. Not just footsteps but dialogue that calls out big plays.

I just use Sony's Playstation Gold Wireless headset. Found it for a good price a few years back.
Nothing amazing, but it works nicely and is easy to use.
Only two complaints: I don't like big headphones and I don't like my ears covered. But I put up with it because good quality smaller set are hard to come by.

Comparing the two, the 2100's bass just sounds boomy and uncontrolled. If you're deadset on something wireless with a mic, I think the Sony's are pretty good.
Another option is to get a pair of headphones, combine it with a removable mic and one of those mini bluetooth receivers for when you want to listen to music in your sun room.
I have the wireless PS4 Headset works well but takes up one usb slot for the receiver. The battery for the head set last about 2.5-3 times longer then the controller.
Either the Sony Gold or Pulse Elite (if that's still around). I have the Pulse and friends have the Golds; they both perform very well and have good mics. While they are known to be fragile, I have not had that experience. But then I seldom rage quite and throw my headsets... Your mileage may vary.

I use the Playstation Gold headset and I love it. Good battery life, good microphone (it has a secondary at the back which it uses to filter background noise) and good sound. It's pretty comfortable, sometimes after wearing it for an entire night my ears will start feeling a bit sore though.

I have 2 sons and I myself play games. I can't tell you how many headsets we went through until I bought these Sony headsets. The Sony headsets are extremely durable, have long battery life and have built in microphones. You won't be sorry!
I have nothing bad to say about the Sony Playstation Golds. They are super comfortable and I've been able to wear them for upwards of 6 hours or more.
Microphone is built into the headset and whilst its not an amazing microphone, its still a damn good one for chatting to you friends with. Battery life is great; I only need to charge mine like once a week.
It isn't 5.1 though but it has VSS, which if audio isn't a major priority will do just fine.
I was in a Wal-Mart last year and someone had put the Playstation Gold headset in the wrong spot. It was supposed to be on the hook marked $99.99, but instead someone had put it on the hook marked $49.99.
Also, it was locked onto the hook to prevent theft, so clearly it had to be an employee who put it there, not a customer.
I knew the guy working the register in electronics, so I asked him if they would sell the headset to me for that price. He said he'd have to ask his manager. Manager comes back and says she'd be willing to give me a 20% discount (so $80) but that's it.
I was pretty bummed.
I have a problem with my mic being too loud in-game, I get comments that I should lower it and it only happens on CS:GO, I use a Sony Gold Wireless Headset.
I've tried changing it from recording devices but I don't have a volume slider, I've also tried changing voice_mixer_volume to less than 1, the config.cfg in common folder and through steam settings as well. None seem to work at all, when i listen to myself though "voice_loopback 1" I'm really loud. And it stays loud no matter what I change.
Any ideas on what i should do, I might get another mic but I want to know if there's any other solutions I can try. Thanks

The gold is currently $90 on Amazon, but I've seen it go down to $60-70 in the past.
Your monitor might have a 3.5mm plug in it for audio. mine does and its pretty damn old..
The official wireless sony headphones are awesome too in this situation.

They're GREAT! I got them really cheaply during black Friday but I would have paid a lot more for them! They average around $80 but they sound soooo good. Both of my brothers have them also and the mic quality is excellent!! I couldn't recommenced them more!

If your limit is around $100 and aren't set on turtle beach then the Playstation Gold Wireless Headset is pretty good from what I've used of it. It has the same feature for hearing yourself to adjust how loud you are and I've found that it doesn't interrupt you at all. It's charged via microusb charger and connected to the PS4 or PC via USB dongle (no bluetooth is a downside) or an audio jack that can plug into the controller/PC.

- Hori Blazblue stick is another choice, parts are Hori OEM stick / Kuro buttons with quick-disconnect buttons.
- If you're very used to pad, consider a Hori Fighting Commander 4.
Even the really good soundbars kinda suck compared to a real 5.1 system. I'd recommend a nice set of headphones. The Sony Golds are ok but the Astro A50's sound great.

I'm a PlayStation gamer and I really love the PlayStation Gold headset. Had mine for two years and has been excellent the whole time. Comes with a USB stick and I'm not 100% sure if it's compatible with computers or not but I think it would be. I know some people may disagree with me on this, especially any audiophiles out there but I really like the Playstation Gold wireless headset.
only 100 bucks on amazon with a 4.5 rating from 1200 reviews? That's a pretty damn good score if you don't wanna take my word for it. I like the sleek look without a protruding microphone and the headset is over the ears and pretty comfortable. Obviously it works out the the box with the PS4 and PS3 with a simple USB dongle for the wifi paring. This dongle can be move to the PC for instant plug and play headphones as well.
